【Day One】

My name is Fang Qi.

Today, I transmigrated again.

Ah, sorry, that was a typo. Why would I write “again”...?

Anyway, I’ve transmigrated into a world of ocean survival.

Right now, I’m sitting on a little wooden raft, writing this diary.

Why am I keeping a diary?

Because I was lucky enough to obtain a diary system.

As long as I write in my diary every day, I’ll receive a reward.

So, this is my first entry.

Come to think of it, before I transmigrated, I was playing a game—a Galgame.

My Sicko Mechanical Wife!

It was so much fun!

I was just about to reach the final ending, “Eternal Love.” I was only a tiny step away when I suddenly got shocked and passed out!

When I opened my eyes again...

I was already sitting on this raft.

Damn you, heavens!

Couldn’t you have waited until I saw the ending before sending me here?!

I was this close to reaching eternal love with my wife, Liguang!

Sigh.

Whatever. It’s not like I can go back now.

Still, the heavens aren’t completely heartless. They threw me into the middle of this godforsaken ocean, but at least they gave me a system.

All I have to do is write a diary every day to receive rewards. Sounds pretty easy, right?

I’ve always been an optimist. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring me something useful.

Speaking of which, the ocean sure is quiet.

An endless stretch of blue, without even a bird in sight.

All right. I’ll worry about surviving the first day before anything else.

Once I get myself settled, I’ll see if I can convince the system to give me a game console!

I have to finish “Eternal Love.” I can’t just let things end like this!

【Day Two】

Invincible!

Who would’ve thought? Before transmigrating, I was a wage slave living in a tiny rented room. On my very first day after transmigrating, I moved into a luxury ocean villa!

When I woke up this morning, I thought I was still dreaming!

The reward from the diary I wrote yesterday... was actually an entire ocean platform!

My pathetic little raft was gone, replaced by a nearly one-hundred-square-meter ocean platform with a two-story wooden house!

There was even a shell wind chime hanging by the entrance. Whenever the breeze blew, it made the most delightful tinkling sound!

When the chimes woke me up, I was completely dumbfounded. I walked around the platform several times and even pinched myself repeatedly.

It hurt. It really hurt. This wasn’t a dream!

But... unfortunately, after carefully examining the platform, I discovered that despite its impressive appearance, it was practically useless.

Aside from sheltering me from the wind and rain, it had nothing!

The seawater purifier, storage box, harpoon, and all the other things I’d imagined were nowhere to be found.

They didn’t even give me a fishing rod!

And for a platform this big, couldn’t they at least have included a urine filter?

Whatever, whatever. Having a place to live is already pretty good.

This is only the first reward. I shouldn’t be greedy!

So today, I spent the entire day making a crude harpoon out of a wooden stick.

I also wove a net from vines and used it to collect debris floating across the ocean.

The haul wasn’t bad: a bundle of old rope, a torn fishing net, several empty plastic bottles, and...

An unopened bottle of mineral water!

A bottle of water!

That’s hard currency out here!

Hopefully, the system will give me something useful tomorrow!

A seawater distiller, a water-purification device, anything like that. Please!

【Day Three】

I give up!

This shark fin tastes so fishy!!!

The reward from yesterday’s diary really was a crude seawater distiller.

It was a little too crude for my liking, but at least I don’t have to worry about fresh water for the time being.

Early this morning, I was happily boiling distilled water when I suddenly felt something ram into the raft.

I looked down...

Well, would you look at that—a shark!

It wasn’t very big, only about as long as I was, and it was busy chewing on the edge of my raft.

A normal person would probably have been scared senseless, right?

But I’d been drifting out here for three days without seeing anything except waves. To be honest, I was thrilled when a living creature suddenly showed up!

I even greeted it. I said, “Yo, brother! Had anything to eat?”

But the shark completely ignored me and kept chewing on my raft.

Was wood really that delicious?

Sigh. The sharks in this world are way too unintelligent. All they can do is bite rafts.

I had no choice but to stab it with my harpoon.

It wasn’t my fault. It attacked first...

No, wait. It bit first.

Easy kill!

Afterward, I cut off the shark fin. I remembered that shark fin was considered a delicacy, and it had been incredibly expensive before I transmigrated.

But after boiling it for ages, I took one bite...

It was so unbelievably fishy that I nearly threw up!

Looks like my cooking skills really are terrible...

Sigh. If only I had a teammate who knew how to cook...

Preferably the kind who would smile as she carried over a clay pot and say, “Master, the shark fin soup is ready. It’s at the perfect temperature of 52 degrees!”

Heh heh. Just imagining it is kind of exciting!

...Sigh. I can only imagine it.

There isn’t a single person in this place. It’s so boring...

When am I going to run into someone else?

【Day Four】

Holy crap!!

This system is trying to kill me!!!

I was scared half to death today!!

The reward from yesterday’s diary was something called... “Mysterious Bait.”

It looked pretty high-end, so I put it on a hook and cast my line into the ocean.

I figured that bait given to me by the system had to bring in something good, right?

But the moment the bobber moved, before I even had a chance to reel it in, the shadow beneath the surface emerged!

A gigantic, pitch-black monstrosity whose outline I couldn’t make out!

It slowly rose from the depths, growing larger and larger, and then...

Its shadow covered my entire raft!

A deep-sea behemoth!

The world’s introduction had mentioned that terrifying monsters lurked in the deep sea and would occasionally attack rafts.

I’d expanded my ocean platform by quite a bit over the past few days, but compared to that shadow...

Damn, it was still nothing!

It looked like a little biscuit floating on the water!

It was terrifying!

My legs went weak on the spot, and I collapsed onto the deck. I nearly dropped my fishing rod into the sea.

For those few seconds, my entire life flashed before my eyes. My mother, my father, my wife, Liguang—no one was left out.

And then?

The giant beast simply floated there for a while before...

It left.

It slowly sank back toward the deep sea, as though it had merely been passing by.

I lay sprawled across the deck for nearly half an hour before my heartbeat finally returned to normal.

That was terrifying...

I really don’t dare go fishing again anytime soon. At the very least, I need a few days to recover.

But... what else can I do if I don’t fish?

There’s nothing in this godforsaken place—not even anyone to talk to.

I’ve been drifting out here alone for four days. No phone, no entertainment...

The only things I can do are fish, distill water, and repair the raft.

The only living creature I’d encountered before today was that stupid shark that only knew how to bite rafts.

And now I’ve run into another terrifying monster!

Sigh. I’m going to die of boredom...

Come to think of it, does this world have one of those “world chat” functions you see in novels? Something that lets all the survivors chat with one another?

Even just sending a message saying, “Anyone there?” would be nice!

If I keep drifting around like this, I’m really going to get depressed.

[Day Five]

I now have reason to suspect that my diary system is actually a wish-granting system!

Yesterday, I wrote in my diary that I wanted to find other survivors, and today’s reward turned out to be a “Survivor Exploration Radar”!

The radar looks like a tablet computer. Its screen displays a map of the surrounding sea, with several little points of light scattered across it.

The green one represents me. And about twenty-some nautical miles to my northeast, there’s a little blue point!

I was so excited!

What does this mean?

It means the nearest other survivor is over there!

Twenty-some nautical miles isn’t especially far, but it’s definitely not close, either.

I have no idea whether the person on the other side is friend or foe.

Out here on the sea, where there are no laws and no rules, anyone you encounter could be a teammate—or a pirate.

But I really couldn’t stand it anymore!

Five days!

A full five days!

No phone, no entertainment, not even anyone to talk to!

Humans are social animals, you know!

I was dying to see another person!

Even if we only waved to each other from a distance, that would be enough. At least then I could confirm that I wasn’t the only person still alive in this world.

The problem was that although my sea platform was fairly large, it had no propulsion system.

It could only drift with the current, going wherever the sea carried it.

So I had to find a way to make the other person come looking for me!

I gathered some of the junk I’d hooked up from the sea—torn cloth, scraps of plastic, and a few rotten planks—and piled them together to build a little bonfire.

Once the fire was burning strongly, I covered it with wet cloth. Thick smoke rose into the air. It should be pretty noticeable out on the sea, right?

My “signal fire” is burning outside right now.

I hope they can see it.

Of course, I wasn’t completely unprepared.

I sharpened my fish spear until it gleamed and kept it within easy reach. If the visitor turned out to have bad intentions…

Heh. Fang Qi can stab a shark to death with his bare hands. I’m not exactly an easy target!

But honestly, I still hoped the person on the other side was a good person.

Preferably someone easygoing, someone I could team up with and share this life at sea.

A brother, a sister—I didn’t care, as long as they weren’t crazy.

Please, whoever you are, brother or sister, you have to be a good person…!

Fang Qi, written aboard the little sea villa, Day Five.

…

…

[Day Six]

Holy crap.

Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap, holy crap.

His wife, Liguang!!

It really is his wife, Liguang!!!!!

She’s real! A real person! A living, breathing, silver-haired girl with heterochromia!

I’m so excited, I’m so excited, I’m so excited…!!

Let me calm down for a second…

…

Yesterday, the reward from that diary entry was a sail.

This ridiculous system finally came through for me once.

I raised the sail high in the center of the platform and gave it a try. It turned out I could use the wind to change direction.

The controls were a little rough, but at least I could move.

Since the blue point hadn’t made any attempt to come toward me, I figured I might as well go to them instead of waiting around.

So at first light today, I raised the sail and headed toward the blue point!

A few hours later, I spotted a small raft far away on the sea.

A really small one—only a few square meters, from what I could tell. It didn’t even have a canopy for shade.

And then…

I saw her.

A silver-haired girl, curled up on the raft, completely motionless.

She had the same hair color as his wife, Liguang, but at the time, I still thought to myself, Who dyes their hair this color nowadays? Some kind of wannabe rebel?

But rescuing her was more important. I brought my platform alongside the raft and jumped over. Only then did I get a clear look at her face.

She was beautiful—stunning, really—but her lips were badly cracked, and she was severely dehydrated.

I quickly carried her back onto my platform and gave her a few gulps of water. She was so light that it startled me. Holding her in my arms felt like holding nothing at all.

Then she woke up.

She slowly opened her eyes, and then…

I. Was. Completely. Stunned.

Because her eyes…

Her left eye was amber, and her right eye was crimson!

Heterochromia! Silver hair! And she was impossibly beautiful!

Wasn’t she exactly like his wife, Liguang?!

I was completely dumbfounded. I thought I was dreaming, and I don’t even know how I managed to stammer out an explanation of what had happened…

Then her reaction shocked me even more!

First, she stared blankly at me. Then she looked over her own body, as if checking to make sure I hadn’t done anything to her…

Then, all of a sudden, she struggled to her feet and knelt directly in front of me, begging me to take her in!

The movement was so precise it was almost frightening!

She brought her legs together, folded her hands neatly in front of her stomach, and lowered her forehead until it was almost touching the deck.

That posture, that tone of voice…

My. God.

My mind went completely blank. It took me a long time to force out a question asking what was going on with her eyes and hair!

She said she was a cosplayer, and that she had been cosplaying Liguang from My Yandere Mechanical Wife.

Then, on the way to a convention, she was involved in a car accident. When she woke up…

She was here, on this sea.

And after crossing over, her cosplay outfit had actually become her real appearance!

I was stunned! I’m still stunned as I write this diary entry!

Something like this can really happen?!

She also said her name was Li Guang, pronounced the same as Liguang.

She had first noticed the game because of her name, then became completely fascinated by Liguang’s character, and eventually decided to cosplay her.

She said that if I didn’t mind, I could just call her Xiaoguang.

As she said this, she was sitting properly on her knees on the deck, her hands resting neatly on her thighs as she looked at me nervously, afraid that I might be displeased.

She was exactly like Liguang!

Maybe my stare had been a little too intense, because she immediately prostrated herself and begged me to take her in!

She said she could do anything. She could cook, clean, and organize things. She also said she would do whatever I asked and prove her value to me!

…What else could I possibly say?

I’d been drifting alone for six days and was practically going insane. At long last, I had found another living person—and not only that, but a ridiculously beautiful silver-haired girl with heterochromia!

And she didn’t seem threatening at all. She was a delicate girl I could easily handle!

Not to mention that she liked My Yandere Mechanical Wife just as much as I did!

A professional cosplayer who had cosplayed his wife, Liguang!

This was absolutely perfect!

She had to be the teammate the system had sent me!

And she was so well-behaved, too!

I told her my name was Fang Qi and asked her to get some proper rest first.

But she smiled at me and said, “Thank you, Brother Fang Qi. I’m fine now. I don’t need to rest. I want to prove my value.”

Of course, I had to indulge her!

So I asked her to sort through the debris caught by the fixed collection net—things that had floated over from the sea.

She happily went off to work. Every so often, she would look back at me with a smile and say that she would do her best to help!

That smile was so sweet!

That profile, that silver hair, those heterochromatic eyes… she was exactly like his wife, Liguang, from the game.

…Good heavens.

Even now, I still can’t believe it.

I actually rescued “Liguang”?

And now I’m really going to survive together with his wife, Liguang?

…I wonder if she knows how to make shark’s fin?
