Chapter 46: Cultivation room

Ting Ting stared at Gu Chen in shock. She had suddenly felt her body overflowing with so much power after eating that pill, and then she had broken through several small stages in one go!

At the moment, Ting Ting could feel that she was very close to a major breakthrough. If that happened, wouldn’t she become a Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator?

She understood what meridian cleansing meant, but she didn’t know about pills; the name might not be literal for the use of the pill.

After all, she was already cultivating, so why would she need her meridians to be cleansed?

Feng Shuran also looked at Gu Chen’s back. She was secretly puzzled. After all, the pill she had brought back was truly an ordinary meridian cleansing pill; could he have done something to it when he touched it?

In response to Ting Ting’s question, Gu Chen decided to reveal a bit of secret to her.

He told her that her meridians had been blocked since she was born and the qi in her body wasn’t flowing freely. Had she not come here and met him, she would have died immediately when she turned twenty.

This news shocked both women behind him. Feng Shuran couldn’t help staring at the red-haired girl. Her meridians had been blocked since she was born, so how did she cultivate to the QI Gathering Realm?

As for Ting Ting, she was horrified to learn that she would have died in three years if she hadn’t come here. Suddenly, she didn’t know if she could continue hating the woman who captured her from her village and forced her to flee here, or be grateful to her.

Make sure not to ever reveal this to anyone, or more powerful people will come for you, and it might be difficult to keep you safe." Gu Chen looked at Ting Ting over his shoulder and explained.

A look of understanding appeared on Feng Shuran’s face; her master’s explanation made sense.

As for Ting Ting, her body trembled at the thought of stronger cultivators coming for her.

She immediately swore to never reveal that she had a special bloodline and was able to cultivate even with blocked meridians.

Gu Chen smiled and kept walking.

After some time, the three arrived at the courtyard. But instead of going in, they all looked at the new new building that had appeared beside the courtyard.

A single structure that resembled a large storage had suddenly appeared beside the courtyard like it was there before.

While Gu Chen easily figured that it was the cultivation room which he had unlocked recently, the two women were stunned by its appearance.

Feng Shuran had spent quite some time on this mountain; she was certain that this building wasn’t here before. Where did it come from? Did master make it while I was away?

Meanwhile, Ting Ting was confused. When she was brought here earlier, she didn’t notice a building like this.

It was quite large, so how did she miss it or forget about seeing it so soon?

They both looked at Gu Chen, who stepped towards the building and pushed open the large wooden doors, revealing a spacious room inside; it was as big as the hall used by the Bloody Rose sect to receive guests.

"Come on." Gu Chen stood by the entrance and beckoned at them.

Shuran and Ting Ting blinked before walking over. They arrived in front of the door and looked inside.

Inside was spacious and empty. It looked like a massive storage room that wasn’t being used yet.

Before they could ask any questions, Gu Chen told them to go in.

Ting Ting stared at him with a confused expression while Feng Shuran stepped directly into the spacious room. The moment her legs entered, her beautiful eyes widened in shock, and she turned to look at Gu Chen.

"M-master!" She called out, unable to help herself after realising what was in the room.

As a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, Feng Shuran wouldn’t feel overwhelmed even when using spirit stones to cultivate and could easily suck hundreds of spirit stones dry in a few minutes.

However, the moment she stepped into this room, she felt suffocated by the overwhelming qi inside! It was as if she had entered a room stuffed with invisible clouds of qi.

QI was so abundant that Feng Shuran’s breathing turned rapid, and she couldn’t help calling out to her master.

He had created another miracle! She had never heard of a cultivation room like this, much less seen one before!

Seeing Feng Shuran’s reaction, Gu Chen nodded with satisfaction. The cultivation room of the system didn’t disappoint him. He knew what a cultivation room was and had even used one before.

Cultivators would add two formations to an area when creating a cultivation room. One was a sealing formation, to make sure that the qi didn’t go out. The second one was the absorbing formation; this one was able to absorb the energy within spirit stones and release it inside the room, as well as absorbing qi from the surroundings outside the room.

The higher the grade of spirit stones placed inside the second formation, the better the quality of qi the room would provide.

But even then, only when a constant large supply of high-grade spirit stones were being used would the room be able to achieve an effect that would make a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator react like this.

Even for top beings like the previous Gu Chen, they couldn’t afford to burn high-grade spirit stones so freely.

"What are you waiting for?" Pleased with the results, Gu Chen looked at Ting Ting, who was still standing outside.

Coming back to her senses, Ting Ting realised that the sect master was already in a meditative position and was absorbing qi.

She hadn’t entered the room yet and didn’t know what Feng Shuran had discovered. The first effect of the cultivation room prevented qi from leaving, so even though Ting Ting was right at the entrance, she couldn’t sense what was inside the room.

Curious as to what the sect master had experienced, Ting Ting entered the room.

The moment she did.

Thud!

Her body dropped to the ground right at the entrance, sweat quickly started rushing down her face, and she was gasping heavily.

Ting Ting’s eyes were wide with disbelief. She was being suffocated by overflowing qi!

Feng Shuran opened her eyes slowly and looked at the girl who was lying on the floor by the entrance, a calm expression on her face as she casually waved one hand.

A wave of Feng Shuran’s qi flew out and covered Ting Ting, shielding her from the qi inside the room. Only after that did Ting Ting finally start to breathe with less difficulty and was able to sit upright.

"T-thank you, sect master." She said with a slight strain, still trying to catch her breath.

Feng Shuran didn’t respond; she closed her eyes again and continued to absorb qi around her.

After her breathing returned to normal, Ting Ting entered a meditative position as well and started pulling small strands of qi from the air. They slowly passed through the protective cover that Feng Shuran had created around Ting Ting without overwhelming her.

Seeing this, Gu Chen smiled and walked away, leaving the two to continue training.
