Chapter 477: A Win For The Team

Now, it might have seemed as though Ethan and Isabella had traveled from Krygon Province to the Great Serpent’s Pass in an instant.

But that was not the case.

A few minutes earlier, Zelith’s control over Rule of the Area had already begun to waver.

Her concentration faltered under the strain of maintaining the dome spell, causing the magic circles sustaining the spell to flicker.

And so for a fraction of a second, the dome disappeared.

That moment was enough for Ethan and Dark Bella who had instantly sensed the enormous flow of clustered magic power.

They recognized that the barrier had temporarily weakened and immediately began moving toward that direction as fast as they could.

Although Zelith managed to reestablish the dome a split second later, it was already too late to prevent them from continuing toward the location.

They had already sensed where the disturbance came from and the direction they had to take to get there.

And by the time Zelith’s control finally broke completely under the pressure of the enraged Eolagar, Ethan and Dark Bella were already extremely close to the Great Serpent’s Pass.

That was why their arrival appeared almost instantaneous.

Smoke and dust billowed from the huge crater created by the bolt of lightning that had struck down upon the right-hand.

As it all cleared, Ethan rose from his crouched position at the center of the crater. His right hand was bloodied, while purple lightning streaked across his body.

For a moment, he stared down at the severed head of the grade 8 berserker demon he had just killed.

Then he looked at his hand, feeling this strange yet familiar sensation spread through his body.

Life force absorption was happening automatically.

Ethan could feel the life force entering him, evolving his body and making him stronger than he had been before.

He slowly looked up at Nathan who was staring at him in surprise, seemingly unable to believe that Ethan had suddenly appeared before him.

Then Nathan smiled and released a sigh of relief.

"Are you all right?" Ethan asked, his voice carrying the deep rumble of thunder.

Nathan nodded. But at that moment, his eyes widened as he suddenly turned toward another part of the battlefield. "Jillia!"

A remnant of shadow spread out from around the corner as Dark Bella emerged from the darkness, with a calm looking expression.

"She’ll be fine," she said. "I’ve got her with me"

Their attention was immediately then drawn toward the sight of Eorlagar in the distance.

The berserker had leapt high into the sky before bringing his fist upward in a powerful uppercut, striking Brilvos’s giant bone monster summon from beneath.

The creature released a tremendous scream as the force of the attack sent it reeling, while the resulting shockwave traveled across the battlefield and reached them as well.

The other provincial lords had also noticed Ethan and Isabella’s arrival. Several of them had already turned in their direction, seeing the two standing together with Nathan.

They could sense their power, and knew that both Ethan and Isabella possessed magical power comparable to their own, making it difficult for the provincial lords to immediately engage them without first understanding the type of powers they both possessed.

Moreover, Eorlagar was still wreaking havoc among them, making the battlefield increasingly chaotic and difficult to navigate.

The demon lords were already struggling to deal with the berserker, leaving them little opportunity to focus on Ethan and the others.

Ethan stared on ahead for a little longer. His hands were clenched tightly, fury visible in his eyes.

A part of him wanted to charge into the battlefield and kill every demon responsible for what had happened to his father.

But their real objective had already been accomplished.

He had come here to get his father or atleast save him from whatever doom he faced.

Ethan slowly exhaled before speaking in a solemn voice. "Our business here is concluded."

Everyone understood and was in agreement that it was time to leave.

But before they moved, Nathan said. "Hold on."

He turned his attention toward Eorlagar, then he raised his right hand forward and slowly closed it into a fist.

Immediately, the vengeful spirits began pouring out of Eorlagar’s body.

Thousands of dark-purple skull figures emerged from within the berserker, rising into the air before flying rapidly toward Nathan.

Eorlagar staggered as the presence inside his body began disappearing.

His eyes widened as the unnatural fury that had consumed him disappeared.

He dropped to his knees as his body could no longer maintain itself against the exhaustion and injuries he had suffered from the battle.

The Berserker was battered and wounded in several places from the attacks of the other demon lords.

Nathan lowered his hand as the last of the vengeful spirits returned to his possession.

Ethan then placed a palm on Nathan’s shoulder. In the next instant, they both disappeared in a flash of purple lightning.

At the same time, Dark Bella dispersed in the form of shadows, disappearing along with them.

A few minutes later, Ethan appeared in a flash of lightning, with Nathan floating beside him.

Isabella emerged from the shadows shortly afterward.

From above, they could see their team immediately turning toward them.

Several of them greeted their arrival with grins, while others nodded in approval.

To one side, the members of the Krygon family were still bound by Arthur’s chains and watched over by Nina.

They were unable to do anything as they stared toward Nathan, their faces filled with a mixture of fury and exhaustion.

In the distance, the Domain Lords and several of their surviving men were making a rapid retreat from the provincial palace.

They simply did not have it in them to continue the fight.

After witnessing the level of power gathered around the quarters, continuing the battle would have been foolish.

The foreigners were all powerful enough to pose a serious threat on their own. Then there were Ethan’s summons, whose strength was even more overwhelming.

The team and the summons had also deliberately avoided unnecessary violence.

Eventually, the Domain Lords just had to order their men to retreat.
