Before the most magnificent building in the Black Desolation Sect, the palace where Gu Yuan lived and where the Heavenly Twin Stars would live too, from today onward, a great crowd had gathered.

Among them were Lin Hao and his women.

Mu Qingya, Lin Hao’s first Dao Companion, whom he had first seen back when he was still a mortal, looked at Gu Yuan in his red groom’s attire, ready to set off, and for a moment her gaze shifted to Lin Hao.

She wanted to see Brother Hao dressed like that too.

She wanted to wear red too.

"Brother Hao, when are we going to hold our wedding?" she asked, nudging him.

Her question immediately caught the attention of his other women. They might not have said anything, but their ears had perked up, and it was obvious they were just as interested in his answer.

"Later. We’ll hold one later, so don’t worry," Lin Hao said calmly, in a reassuring tone.

Inside, though, he was cursing. Gu Yuan had set the bar far too high.

A wedding of this scale, announced to nearly the whole world? No individual could manage it alone. It took a sect, and a giant like the Ji Clan, to pull it off.

Lin Hao could only hope his women would be satisfied with something much smaller.

If Lin Hao thought the enormous wedding in front of him was too much, Gu Yuan thought so too. Just... not for the same reason.

Gu Yuan thought even this wedding was somehow insufficient for the twins.

Maybe someday... much later... he can give them another wedding, one they truly deserve, Gu Yuan thought, when Ruxi approached him.

"The two young misses are ready. Let us set off," she said.

Gu Yuan nodded and was about to go when Elder Lianxin suddenly spoke.

"Allow this old woman to clear the way for our young friend today."

With those words, two enormous dragons appeared beside her, one white and one black. Their bodies intertwined as they rose into the sky, stretching across the vast distance between Gu Yuan’s residence and the distant hall where the twins awaited him. In moments, they formed a magnificent bridge among the clouds.

The crowd fell silent before erupting into astonishment. Even the cultivators of the Yunhai continent had never witnessed such a method, let alone the Black Desolation sect disciples. They could hardly imagine what level of cultivation was required to produce a spectacle like this.

"Go," Elder Lianxin said with a faint smile. "Your brides are waiting."

Gu Yuan smiled slightly and gave her a small bow, then took one step onto the dragons entwined across the sky.

Before he could take another, he heard Lin Hao’s voice. "Brother Gu, aren’t you going to say something before you go?"

Gu Yuan paused. He hadn’t planned to say anything, but when he looked toward the distant hall where the twins were waiting, he changed his mind.

"The spring wind has crossed a thousand mountains,

And today, it reaches my door.

The road ahead is long,

Yet my heart looks forward to every step."

Perhaps the words were more romantic than he would usually admit, but they expressed exactly how he felt at that moment.

The guests around him seemed to praise his literary skill. Lin Hao appeared to say something as well. Yet Gu Yuan heard none of it. He had already begun walking.

With each step he took along the entwined dragons, the scenery beneath him blurred past. Mountains, forests, and whole stretches of the sect slid beneath his feet in an instant.

It took only a few steps to reach his destination.

Su Yulan, his mother-in-law, was there to welcome him, surrounded by Ji Clan elders, maids, Black Desolation Sect disciples, and many familiar faces. Judging by the way some of them craned their necks, quite a few seemed more interested in seeing the brides than the groom.

He could also hear Bai Yuning running toward the twins, shouting, "Sect Master! Martial Aunt! Junior Brother Gu has arrived!"

But for now, he focused on his mother-in-law.

"So, Gu Yuan," Su Yulan said with a teasing smile, "should I really hand over my precious daughters to you?"

"Yes," Gu Yuan nodded without hesitation. "Please give them to me."

Su Yulan laughed. Apparently satisfied with his answer, she stepped aside without making things difficult for him.

No one else stopped him, and Gu Yuan was finally able to see the two women behind the door.

Both wore red wedding gowns, yet neither was overshadowed by the color.

Ji Yue’s silver hair fell over her shoulders like moonlight, contrasting beautifully with the red of her gown. Her purple eyes remained as calm and composed as ever, but when her gaze met his, that composure wavered ever so slightly.

Ji Yan was less restrained. Her red hair blended almost seamlessly with her wedding gown, while her golden eyes shone with undisguised excitement. She had clearly been looking forward to this moment, and made no attempt to conceal it.

For a moment, Gu Yuan could hear little beyond his own heartbeat, which seemed to quicken with the faint flutter of their eyelashes.

He stared at the two women before him. He had always known they were beautiful... or so he had thought.

"Junior Brother, I thought you were in a hurry," Bai Yuning teased, finally pulling him out of his daze.

The people who had followed Gu Yuan couldn’t help but understand his reaction. Looking at the two brides themselves, many wondered whether these women were truly the same kind of beings as them... maybe they are celestial maidens who had descended from the immortal world.

Gu Yuan stepped forward and extended his hands.

"Senior Sisters, the time has come. Please, come with me."

Ji Yue gently placed her hand in his, while Ji Yan immediately clung to his arm, paying no mind to the countless gazes surrounding them.

Elder Lianxin smiled and waved her hand. The entwined black and white dragons shifted, now heading for the wedding hall.

Walking along the bridge, Gu Yuan felt genuinely moved. For someone of Elder Lianxin’s standing to do all this for him and the twins was no small gesture.

He glanced at the two women beside him.

For years, he had cultivated with a single goal in mind: to reach the peak one day.

Somehow, he had ended up on his way to a wedding instead.

Ignoring the others who hurried ahead to the wedding hall, Gu Yuan walked slowly with the twins, savoring the moment.

When they reached the wedding hall and stepped down from the two dragons, spiritual power surged in a riot of colors to welcome them, and a red light spread outward beneath their feet.

Gu Yuan stepped onto it and continued forward, one step at a time.

Inside, countless cultivators had gathered. There were so many that he couldn’t help appraising a few out of curiosity. At one of them, he blinked slightly.

[Threads of Providence]

Name: Ouyang Xun

Age: 9166

Cultivation: Unity Realm, Fourth Stage

Spiritual Root: Water Root (Earth Grade)

Providence: Low (High)

Special Note: Ouyang Xun, a member of the Ouyang Clan. He was sent to the Black Desolation sect to verify the identities of the Heavenly Twin Stars and determine whether they were connected to the chaos foretold by his ancestor.

The Ouyang Clan. To think one of its members would appear here under these circumstances.

For a moment, Gu Yuan considered what this might mean, but eventually shook his head. Whatever the Ouyang Clan was investigating, it could wait.

Today, he didn’t want to think about anything else.

Just the twins.

At the end of the red path stood the twins’ parents, Su Yulan and Ji Zhenyu, alongside Luo Yunjin, his own master.

Luo Yunjin stepped forward and began the ceremony.

"Today, Gu Yuan, Ji Yue, and Ji Yan stand before Heaven and Earth and all those gathered here to become husband and wives."

The vows that followed were simple, far less elaborate than the Sacred Ceremony Gu Yuan had once exchanged with the twins. Yet there was no need to repeat what they had already promised each other. This time, they were just making their union known to the world.

After the vows came the three bows.

The first was to Heaven and Earth.

The second was to their parents and elders. Luo Yunjin was included among them, and when Ji Yue and Ji Yan bowed to her, she felt a sudden pressure she couldn’t quite explain. Her expression remained composed, but a faint sweat broke out on her forehead.

Neither Gu Yuan nor the twins seemed to notice as they moved on to the third bow, for each other.

Only after they had completed it did Luo Yunjin finally announce, "The ceremony is complete!"

As if responding to her declaration, Heaven and Earth seemed to celebrate alongside them.

Auspicious clouds gathered across the sky, and a gentle drizzle began to fall. Yet it was no ordinary rain. The droplets carried rich spiritual energy, nourishing the land beneath them.

To bless the newlyweds, Luo Yunjin and the Ji Clan’s elders activated the treasures and arrangements they had prepared. Brilliant lights burst forth throughout the Black Desolation Sect, illuminating the surrounding peaks.

The guests, unwilling to let the occasion pass without adding their own blessings, followed suit.

"Congratulations, Fellow Daoist Gu!"

"May the three of you remain together for countless years!"

"Congratulations!"

Voices filled the wedding hall as cultivators offered their blessings. Auspicious lights rose into the sky, and the entire Black Desolation Sect was soon immersed in a spectacle of celebration.

For a moment, it seemed as though the whole world had gathered to witness their union.

Gu Yuan listened to the blessings surrounding him, but his attention had already drifted toward the black and white dragons waiting outside the hall,, ready to carry the three of them back to his residence.

His wedding was finally over.

And honestly, Gu Yuan was far more interested in what came afterward than in anything that had happened before.
