My Three Classes Are Supposed to Be Average
Chapter 59: Nothing Left to Say
After exiting the student administration building, Max did not plan to do any training, directly returning to his dorm room instead. He was eager to examine the loot items he had obtained from the iStorage. Taking out the two slotted items, he discovered that both of them were Strong weapons. Although the second weapon required plenty of Mana, he was not bothered by it. Since he would naturally level up, his Mana capacity would automatically increase alongside it.
Furthermore, there should be a way to store Mana in the compartment designated for a Grade-2 Energy Cell. Since Mana was a form of energy, Max believed the weapon should be capable of using external Mana instead of consuming his own. He had yet to reveal this matter to his father or his family.
News that he had used some strange artifact to kill those guards had already spread. However, no one knew exactly what kind of artifact it was. As far as his knowledge went, there were tons of different artifacts that dropped as loot from Dungeons, so Max did not think people would care too much about this unique artifact. Eventually, the world would come to know about it, provided Max wanted to let them know.
The thought of what these weapons were truly capable of still bothered him. The Level 1 world had been destroyed by war, meaning some enormous power must have been used to accomplish that. Since these weapons came directly from that world, Max could not ignore the possibility that they were connected to its destruction. He decided to examine the remaining items carefully before making any decision about them.
Sitting at the center of his cot, he retrieved the small, box-like artifact. After he activated it using Mana, a translucent screen filled with slot boxes appeared.
The symbol on the third slot displayed an image similar to the previous two, so he guessed it was also a weapon. He extracted the item, and just as he had guessed, it was indeed a weapon, though it looked slightly different. Its length was the same as the first rifle, but it was larger and heavier to hold in his hands. Just from that feeling alone, Max could tell it was more powerful than the pistol he had used. It possessed a similar container for an Energy Cell, a trigger, and an attack output tunnel. Furthermore, a strange attachment was mounted on top of it.
[Plasma Disruptor Marksman Rifle]
Type: Ranged Weapon
Grade: Rare
Description: A designated marksman weapon from the Republic of One World Military. It requires a Grade-2 Energy Cell.
Upon reading the details, Max realized it was yet another Rare Grade weapon. However, this one was a Marksman type, meaning long-range attacks were possible, similar to how Marksman Class Awakeners used a bow and arrow. It was definitely a great weapon. Max held the weapon in a similar manner, and it fit perfectly in position. As he tried to determine the usage of the top attachment, his basic understanding told him it was meant to mark targets.
Moving his eyes towards it, he looked through the attachment. Indeed, in the next second, the wall appeared at a much closer range, clearly displaying the details of the focused point.
"Great, it is definitely a versatile weapon," Max muttered. He then put the item back, looked towards the next slot, and retrieved its contents.
The item was about the size of his palm, possessing a smooth metallic surface with several thin lines running across its body. Although there were no buttons he could immediately identify, a small circular section was embedded in the center.
"This looks similar to the iStorage, but it is made with a different material and has a circular section at the center," Max observed as he inspected it.
[Field Energy Analyzer]
Type: Utility Device
Grade: Uncommon
Description: A portable energy analysis device used by the Republic of One World Military. It can detect, measure, and compare different forms of energy.
"Field Energy Analyzer... this looks interesting." Max's interest was piqued upon reading the description. According to the details, the device could detect different types of energy, determine how much was available, and compare different forms.
"Which means it could tell me the Mana density available inside this room," Max muttered. He then infused Mana into the item. Soon, a translucent screen appeared, and an analysis began on the display.
[Field Energy Analyzer Activated.]
[Environmental Energy Analysis in Progress...]
Max looked intently at the screen. To him, this artifact seemed more useful than a weapon. Not only could he use it to find a perfect location to recover Mana, but it could also detect other energies that were not visible to the naked eye.
[Environmental Energy Detected.]
[Primary Energy: Mana]
[Mana Density: 2.14]
[Energy Stability: Stable]
[Abnormal Energy: None]
After a moment of processing, the results showed on the screen. The primary energy was, of course, Mana, and its density was 2.14. Did this mean 10 would be the highest? Max wondered if he would definitely get a result of at least 7 to 10 if he entered a training ground and analyzed it, since those places were artificially made abundant with Mana for students to recover fast.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
The two other options also seemed useful. The first was energy stability, which could detect if an anomaly entered a stable environment and disturbed the norm; this would be very useful during emergencies. The final option was equally useful. If an energy other than Mana was present in the environment, he could easily find out. Since he was going to a Dungeon tomorrow, this device would be helpful if any irregular things happened.
Although this artifact seemed good, he doubted it was unique to the Level 1 world; people in his world also possessed similar artifacts or Skills. Regardless, it was still a good otherworldly artifact for his collection. Thus, he put it away and brought out the next item.
Something small dropped into his palm. It was a compact metallic object with four folded arms pressed against its body. Each arm possessed a small circular structure at its end, while the center of the device contained a dark, glass-like surface.
[Reconnaissance Drone]
Type: Utility Device
Grade: Uncommon
Description: A compact reconnaissance drone used by the Republic of One World Military for aerial observation and battlefield reconnaissance.
"An aerial observation artifact. Nice," Max said, looking at the fifth item. Because he had awakened the Archer class, a ranger-type class that came with the [Eagle Vision] Skill, he could easily understand the purpose of this artifact. However, his Skill's limitation was that he could only observe from where he stood, not from an aerial position. Its main usage was for precise attacks by enhancing his eyesight, whereas this artifact would survey from the air.
Max quickly infused his Mana into the device. Suddenly, the four folded arms extended outward, and the four rotors began to spin. The artifact lifted from his palm and hovered near his face.
[New Mana Signature detected.]
[Drone Binds to source of Detection]
[Reconnaissance Mode Activated.]
[Visual Feed Connected.]
Max continuously received messages on his screen before his vision suddenly changed. He was no longer seeing the wall in front of him; instead, he was seeing himself from the opposite direction, as if looking into a mirror. Looking at his face, he appeared a little dull. Realizing he might need more rest to recover, he quickly adjusted his messy hair.
Not only could he see himself, but there was also a strange mental connection established between him and the artifact. He slowly thought of moving the artifact away from his face to other parts of the room, giving it a mental command to fly up to the ceiling. From that vantage point, the visual feed automatically appeared in his eyes. It was definitely a fascinating artifact.
After playing with it for a while, Max disconnected the drone and put it away. Although it drained a lot of Mana, it was a very useful artifact.
Like this, Max took out every item inside the iStorage and examined them. By the time he finished, it was almost ten at night, and he had missed dinner. With an exhausted mind, he went directly to sleep.
---
He woke up the next morning around eight, quickly freshened up, and walked out of the dorm for breakfast.
During the morning session, he still needed to check if the theory class was mandatory. He had yet to check the class schedule following the competition's results. Generally, three morning sessions a week were mandatory, while for the rest of the time, students could participate in other activities such as duels, training, and Dungeon raids.
As Max entered the canteen hall, first-year students were abundant, which meant he might have to attend the theory class today.
In the afternoon, he could check with the Student Council to see whether they had approved his Dungeon request. He hoped they had; otherwise, he might have to ask the seniors for assistance to introduce some second-year students who could take him along. Since they relatively raided lower-level Dungeons, he would have a chance to level up quickly with their help.
Otherwise, he might have to mingle with the first-years. However, he was not worried; there were plenty of commoners' children studying here from his Land of West. He could use his authority as their Young Master to utilize them and obtain a Dungeon Pass. It was not hard when one held power, so he was not too worried about the matter.
He also needed to plan for the weekend, as leveling up would be awesome. With constant grinding over the next two days, he could easily balance the disparity in Levels between himself and the others.
Max picked up his food and walked towards his regular table, but it was already occupied. Moon was sitting at the table alone. Upon seeing this, Max walked directly towards the back of the hall.
"Max," Moon called out, similar to yesterday.
Max directly ignored her. He sat alone and started to eat. While he was eating, someone approached and sat opposite him. It was Moon, who had carried her food plate over to his table.
"What do you want from me?" Moon said after taking a seat. "Did you expect me to go against my mother? To keep talking to a guy I barely know, ignoring both her and the family patriarch? Do you truly believe that's how I should have handled this?"
"Just tell me if that’s what you expected," Moon insisted, leaving her food untouched.
"Just tell me."
Meanwhile, Max ate his breakfast at his own pace. After finishing it, he stood up. However, before he walked away, he spoke.
"See, I am not sure what I expected you to do in that situation. But that kind of situation will arise again in the future, and your family will tell you not to speak to me. So, I suggest we let bygones be bygones. Hereafter, just do what you want to do; I do not care. In the future, when you feel that you have enough courage and strength to oppose your family's orders, and if you still want my friendship, then come looking for me. At that time, I will consider whether I need your friendship or not. So, until then, goodbye and take care."
Saying so, Max walked away from the table.
Max had lived almost his entire life without much of a social life, so he simply talked to people mostly for his own benefit. As for Moon, she was the one who had initially approached him to talk. Therefore, it was not much of a loss, either politically or emotionally.
His previous plan of becoming the Diplomatic Affairs Head had failed. Now, his new plan was to become famous by winning Duels. This would automatically push his name beyond the second and third-year students, eventually reaching the Nobles. He would become a nightmare for those Nobles who targeted him.
