My Taboo Harem!
Chapter 1342: Pure Soul & Void-Telekinesis
[Ding! Host’s Soul has absorbed the residual Soul belonging to a Great Immortal God angelic being!
New Ability: Pure Soul!
Description: After falling into corruption and madness from Death and Nether through the wrath of the Nether Goddess and Empress of Death herself, the dying wish of the Great Immortal God was to never fall into corruption in her next life, if only she could enter the reincarnation cycle before the Nether Goddess harvested her Soul and turned her body into an endless corruption energy source within her Soul Realm!]
Phei read the description again.
A faint shiver ran down his back.
"Sienna..."
Whatever life his goddess wife had lived before reincarnating, Phei occasionally received reminders that the beautiful girl he knew had once been something utterly terrifying.
A Great Immortal God had crossed her badly enough for Sienna, as the Nether Goddess and Empress of Death, to corrupt the woman until she descended into madness. The angelic being had apparently reached the end of her life with one desperate wish remaining, that whatever came after death would at least allow her to escape corruption in the next life.
Sienna had apparently decided reincarnation was optional—
She harvested the Great Immortal God’s Soul too before it could enter the cycle, took the remains and turned the body into a source of endless corruptive energy inside her own Soul Realm.
Phei slowly rubbed his face.
"How insanely powerful were you back then?"
Great Immortal Gods already stood horrifyingly close to the highest reaches of existence. Above and around that level were Supreme God Immortals and Sovereign Concept Immortals, beings sitting near the very top of the food chain before the impossible divide leading toward Ancient Beings.
Any one of them could erase hundreds of Great Realms with just the intent of their Will.
Phei was fairly certain some of the stronger ones could accomplish the same thing with considerably less effort less than snapping their fingers.
And Sienna had killed one, corrupted her through Death and Nether, harvested what remained before reincarnation and then turned the corpse into something useful.
After reincarnating, she had apparently looked at those remains of that very and thought her spoiled Husband could use them.
Phei’s lips slowly twitched.
’Talk about an OP waifu.’
Other men’s women brought flowers when they wanted to show affection.
Sienna gave him the remains of what might once have been one of the strongest angelic beings in existence.
The actual ability obtained from that residual soul appeared next:
[Pure Soul:Host’s Soul can’t be corrupted by anything in existence! Host’s Soul Energy will too be purified to the purest state possible and increased in potency.]
Phei remembered immediately what he had done after receiving that message.
He called Sienna.
There was no chance he was reading something that absurd and simply accepting the System’s wording without testing it, so once the purification finished, Phei had contacted her and asked her to cultivate using some of his Soul Energy.
Her reaction had removed any remaining doubt.
Sienna told him that a single drop of his current Soul Energy possessed enough purity and concentration that, if its spiritual color were physically visible, that one drop could color an entire ocean.
Her tone changed and she warned him not to allow just anyone to cultivate using it.
Anyone beneath the Lesser God Stage could suffer simply trying to cultivate Soul Energy that pure unless they possessed exceptional bloodlines, methods or unique constitutions protecting them. Sienna herself could use it, of course; Sienna had never displayed much respect for rules that applied to everyone else.
Being the Nether Goddess herself came with privileges.
That warning had stayed in Phei’s mind, though.
His Soul Energy was no longer merely abundant.
It had become dangerous through purity alone.
Phei found himself wondering what Sienna’s cultivation looked like now after spending time drawing upon it. World Transcendent seemed possible, yet immediately after thinking that, he remembered exactly who he was talking about.
Maybe God Stage.
’Maybe she’s a True God now.’
With Sienna, guessing normally felt pointless.
He would find out once he returned home.
More accurately, he would find out when she came to get him.
Another notification waited beneath Pure Soul.
[Due to prolonged exposure to many kinds of Soul Essence and holding the Endless Void’s sentient Presence, Host’s Soul and Mind have been tempered. Soul and Mind can’t be pressured by beings on the Sovereign God Stage or lower!]
Phei stared at that one a little longer because he still did not completely understand how useful it would be.
The obvious interpretation involved aura and soul pressure.
Strong cultivators could suppress weaker beings without physically touching them, forcing bodies down through spiritual weight alone, and soul pressure was even nastier because physical durability meant very little once something began pressing directly against the spirit.
Mind-based abilities were another possibility.
Mind control, mental suppression, spiritual intimidation and anything designed to overwhelm thought through a superior soul probably fell somewhere beneath the same umbrella, although Phei was not going to start inventing rules the System had never actually explained to him.
The important part was simple enough.
Something at Sovereign God Stage or below could apparently possess infinitely greater cultivation than Phei and still fail to crush his Soul or Mind merely through superior pressure.
How ridiculous that actually was would probably become clear the first time some ancient monster tried it.
The next notification brought him back to something considerably more familiar.
[Ding! You’ve awakened a Void Element: Void-Telekinesis!]
Phei smiled immediately.
That one he remembered very well.
Void-Telekinesis sounded cool as hell, especially because this was not ordinary Telekinesis wearing a darker name for decoration. Just as his ice was Void-Ice, this ability possessed the Void woven directly into its nature.
Unfortunately, excitement had lasted roughly until the System showed him the next message.
[More Void Mastery required to use the ability!]
Phei had stared at that message for a long time when he first received it.
He had already awakened the Void itself, so the restriction had nothing to do with obtaining the Element.
His actual Void awakening sat beneath another old notification:
[New Element Awakened:Void (Baby’s Touch)!]
That name had offended him for almost a year.
Phei remained convinced the Void Being was responsible for that Baby’s Touch thingy. Out of every magnificent name that impossible bastard could have chosen for the first stage of Void mastery, it had apparently settled on Baby’s Touch.
The meaning was obvious enough.
Phei had barely begun.
He possessed the Void, could use it, could move through it, hide things within it, devour power through it and accomplish increasingly ridiculous feats whenever his connection deepened, but in terms of true mastery he was apparently still a baby reaching out and touching something infinitely larger than himself.
Void-Telekinesis demanded more.
Perhaps the next level would be enough, perhaps he would need to progress even farther, but until his understanding crossed whatever threshold the ability required, the Element would remain awakened and unusable.
Phei had spent almost the entire year inside the Primordial Frozen Zone trying to change that.
He had failed.
At least, he had failed to force an actual advancement beyond Baby’s Touch.
That did not mean there had been no progress.
The Void he could summon now dwarfed what he had been capable of using when he first entered the Frozen Zone. His control had become finer, his reach had expanded enormously and he could maintain far more of it without feeling the same strain. He had learned to thread it through blood, ice and space, wrap himself in it against hostile spiritual pressure, use it to distort entire battlefields and feed other powers through it without immediately losing control.
Most importantly, Phei could feel the Element changing.
The sensation remained maddeningly slow, almost imperceptible from one day to the next, but comparing himself now with the person who first awakened Baby’s Touch made the difference impossible to deny.
The Void was growing with him.
He was simply growing into it one baby step at a time.
Phei leaned back beneath the moving auroras while the next cluster of notifications gathered in front of him, and after everything his soul had already gained, he was beginning to understand why the Astral Wraith had been so comfortable making his Soul Realm her new home.
