My System Tricked Twelve Beast Husbands to Give Birth for Me
Chapter 50: Zhan Heng: The Female Master Wronged Me, So You Must Compensate Me
Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Zhan Heng: The Female Master Wronged Me, So You Must Compensate Me
"Yes," Pomegranate Seed replied hurriedly. "You can also spend 50 points in the System Mall to purchase a vegetable-farming robot.
"As long as the Host uses the Wood Beast Rank to activate the vitality of the seeds, increasing their atavistic activity, and scatters them in the black soil of your spatial dimension, the farming robot will take full care of the seedlings. This will allow plants with even lower radiation pollution to grow in the black soil."
Gu Weilan quickly reasoned, "The plants grown in the black soil within my space aren’t affected by the interstellar environment, so they’ll be highly atavistic... Meaning they’ll be more like the plants on Blue Star before the Apocalypse, before I transmigrated, right?
"And the Cultivation Liquid prepared from those plants will improve the cubs’ physiques and their Beast Rank awakening potential, won’t it?"
"That’s right! The Host is so smart," Pomegranate Seed replied eagerly.
Zhan Heng furrowed his brow slightly. Seeing his Little Female Master constantly zoning out, he couldn’t help but place his left hand on her leg, giving it a gentle poke.
Gu Weilan turned her head, her eyes wide as she looked at Zhan Heng.
"Let’s eat first, alright? Once you’re full, Female Master can daydream all she wants, okay?" Zhan Heng pushed a small plate piled high with food toward Gu Weilan.
Gu Weilan instantly looked down at Zhan Heng’s fingers. "You just peeled shrimp for me! Did you wipe the grease on my leg?"
Zhan Heng choked back a laugh, the corners of his mouth twitching upward. Seeing the earnestness in Gu Weilan’s eyes and her rapidly rising anger, he hurriedly answered, "I didn’t! As soon as I finished peeling the shrimp, I immediately wiped my hands with a napkin."
Gu Weilan grabbed Zhan Heng’s hand and inspected it closely. Indeed, there were no grease stains. Only then did she turn back, ready to eat.
Zhan Heng, however, pulled Gu Weilan’s chair a bit closer to himself. Acting as if no one else was in the room, he leaned in close to her side. "Female Master, you wrongfully accused me. Is there no compensation at all?"
Gu Weilan curled her lips. Then she heard Zhan Heng deliberately lean closer to her ear, his deep, husky voice asking softly, "Are you really not going to give me a kiss as compensation?"
Feeling Zhan Heng lightly bite her earlobe, Gu Weilan let out a low chuckle.
"Then later, once Female Master is full and we return to bed, I’ll take my compensation myself..." he murmured.
Gu Weilan directly pinched Zhan Heng’s jaw, leaned over, and bit his lip. With her ears flushed red, she turned her head away and continued to bury herself in her food.
After letting out a muffled grunt, Zhan Heng touched his bitten lip with one hand. Resting his other elbow on the table and propping his head up, he simply watched Gu Weilan eat, unable to suppress the smile on his lips.
Watching the intimate interaction between his older brother and Gu Weilan, Xie Jing felt both regret and jealousy.
Feeling a slight sting on his own lips, he couldn’t help but grip his knife and fork tighter. He wanted to get up and leave; after all, staying here offered him zero opportunity to get closer to Gu Weilan. Yet, he couldn’t bear to leave.
He wondered, "What if? What if Gu Weilan notices me, takes one extra glance, and thereby increases the chances of falling for me by even a fraction?"
However, even after Gu Weilan finished her meal, she barely gave Xie Jing a second look. Even though Xie Jing had perceptively served her several spoonfuls of her favorite dishes, she just kept her head down and ate, without sparing him any extra attention.
Gu Weilan looked at Zhan Heng and stretched out her arms. Zhan Heng instantly knew it was time to carry her upstairs.
The food left on his plate, along with the robot sitting opposite him—which turned its "face" away the moment it sensed his gaze—made Xie Jing feel a wave of dullness. He let out a cold scoff, put down his knife and fork, and switched to a silver spoon to finish his meal in a few quick bites. Then, he headed upstairs without looking back.
Back in her room, Gu Weilan heard the Incubation Pod start to emit a series of BEEP BEEP BEEP sounds. She couldn’t help but look at Zhan Heng.
Zhan Heng froze at the door before quickly striding over to place Gu Weilan, whom he was still carrying, onto the bed. Then, he walked over to the nightstand. The egg-shaped Incubation Pod, fifty centimeters tall and thirty-five centimeters wide, had projected a holographic display:
"Successfully began incubating four fertilized eggs. Please have the cubs’ Father or Mother begin supplying Beast Rank Energy.
"Please ensure the daily input of Beast Rank Energy is no less than eight hours."
Gu Weilan couldn’t help but take a step back.
"Heavenly Milk! Eight hours a day, doing absolutely nothing else but endlessly pumping energy to the cubs?" She looked at Zhan Heng. "He can’t possibly be expecting me to do this, right? Don’t even think about it! My time is reserved for my own plans!"
Zhan Heng indeed didn’t wait for Gu Weilan to do it. He directly reached out and placed his hand over the beast paw print painted on the right side of the Incubation Pod. He turned to look at Gu Weilan. "Little Lanlan, you sleep first. I’ll come join you in bed a bit later."
Zhan Heng walked out, supplying Beast Rank Energy to the Incubation Pod as he went. A while later, he returned, wrapped Gu Weilan in his arms, and drifted into a deep sleep.
In another room, Xie Jing’s chest heaved, absolutely furious.
He hugged the Incubation Pod, continuously channeling Beast Rank Energy into it, and muttered under his breath, "He won’t help me get Female Master to accept me as a Beast Husband! He lets the Telepathy torture me half to death! And then he dumps the cubs on me! What kind of older brother acts like this? Did I owe you in a past life?"
Of course, when Zhan Heng asked Xie Jing for help, he had promised to put in a good word for him with their Female Master. But after thinking about it, Xie Jing couldn’t shake the feeling that his brother wouldn’t actually do it. Or rather, he knew his brother wouldn’t do it right now!
His brother had never specified exactly when he would put in that good word! Xie Jing had seen Zhan Heng negotiate before. Any matter without a set deadline was universally delayed indefinitely!
However, despite his initial indignation, things quickly changed. The more he stared at the data on the Incubation Pod, the more thrilled he became! His attention was now completely captured by the device. Carefully reviewing the strings of numbers, he couldn’t help but feel wave after wave of astonishment and surging excitement!
Cultivation Liquid: excellent level (Pollution degree 23)
It was common knowledge that the General Level Cultivation Liquid circulating on the market had a pollution degree of 50 to 70. Cultivation Liquid rated as Good Level had a pollution degree of 30 to 50. On the market, this type of Cultivation Liquid cost around 300,000 Star Coins per kilogram—and that was only thanks to the Interstellar Alliance’s multi-billion subsidy policy.
Cultivation Liquid rated at the excellent level essentially never made it to the open market. It was entirely hoarded by well-resourced Beast Clan families for their own use. A pollution degree of 15 to 30 was the standard for excellent level Cultivation Liquid. This tier was synthesized from plants with extremely low pollution values. Cultivating such plants required meticulous care from a Beastman with a Wood Beast Rank, making it an incredibly draining process that consumed vast amounts of energy and resources.
Of course, Xie Jing only thought this because he didn’t know that Gu Weilan’s Wood Beast Rank had awakened the Vitality Activation Talent Skill when she reached the Sixth Rank. After all, he had never even heard of a Beastman awakening a Beast Rank at the Sixth Rank.
Although there had been Beastmen who awakened the Vitality Activation Talent Skill before, they were exceptionally rare. They were either nurtured internally by prestigious Beast Clans or served as Guest Minister Beastmen for those elite families. This showed just how precious excellent level Cultivation Liquid truly was.
The primary reason for its value was that excellent level Cultivation Liquid had a massively positive impact on a cub’s nutrient absorption, potential, and overall physique! It also had one crucial advantage: cubs nurtured with excellent level Cultivation Liquid had a 70 to 80 percent chance of never developing Genetic Collapse Syndrome.
And if one could get their hands on Selection Level Cultivation Liquid, with a pollution degree of 0 to 15... then such cubs, even if nurtured in an Incubation Pod, would have a 100 percent guarantee of avoiding Genetic Collapse Syndrome entirely!
Xie Jing looked further down.
Nutrition Rating: excellent level.
Fertilized Egg Quality: excellent level.
Predicted Cub Potential: High level Talent.
Predicted Cub Survival Rate: 89%.
The entire series of stats was incredibly high! Xie Jing read the screen with burning eyes. Most importantly, out of the four cubs, there was a 27 percent chance that one of them would be a female cub!
