He looked at Zhan Heng in his cub Beast Form, the provocation in his eyes impossible to hide. His gaze seemed to say, "So what if your Beast Rank is high? My Beast Rank might be low, but I get to be close to our Female Master first!"

Zhan Heng glared viciously at Shi Lingfeng with his red eyes. "Heh, I sleep in the Female Master’s arms every single night!" his look fired back.

Shi Lingfeng raised an eyebrow. "I’ll be sleeping in the Female Master’s arms in my adult Beastman form long before you get the chance!"

Zhan Heng showed the warning signs of an impending outburst, his upper lip curling slightly to reveal a row of small white teeth.

However, as Gu Weilan walked toward the bed, Zhan Heng instantly withdrew his aggression. Feigning a lazy, indifferent demeanor, he rested his chin on his front paws.

Gu Weilan scooped Zhan Heng up and walked over to the luxurious small living area in the room, taking a seat on the sofa.

She looked at Shi Lingfeng, asking in confusion, "...Did you need me for something?"

"Female Master, could you just call me Ling Feng from now on?" Shi Lingfeng reached up to push the glasses on his face.

Looking at his fair, slender fingers, Gu Weilan couldn’t help but avert her gaze. "Mhm, okay!" she agreed with a nod.

It was no wonder Gu Weilan couldn’t help the slight flutter of excitement in her heart. Although Xie Jing was also good-looking, he wasn’t hers, and Gu Weilan wasn’t the type to steal extra glances at something that didn’t belong to her!

However, she was an outsider when it came to Beastmen, Beast Ranks, and spiritual power. It was impossible for her to understand these things better than they did. Therefore, she didn’t immediately argue. Instead, she nodded, accepting Shi Lingfeng’s earnest advice.

"Then I’ll just appease you for the next few days. Once I learn how to control my spiritual power, I’ll resume appeasing the male Xie Jing. Ling Feng, do you think this arrangement is okay?" Gu Weilan looked at Shi Lingfeng.

Shi Lingfeng nodded. "Then thank you, Female Master. We’ll need to discuss this with the male Xie Jing and inform him of the severity of the situation. Otherwise... with his temper, I’m afraid he might overthink things..."
