Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Crying Poor

Shi Lingfeng hugged Gu Weilan and sighed softly, "Will Female Master cast aside her old lovers for new ones in the future...? To think you’re so worried about Lu Xuyin."

Gu Weilan pinched the soft flesh at Shi Lingfeng’s waist. "I won’t. Having someone new has nothing to do with deciding whether to save someone or not."

Shi Lingfeng froze for a moment. "Huh?"

Looking at the slightly astonished Shi Lingfeng, Gu Weilan pinched his nose. "Tell me, what exactly did he say?"

Shi Lingfeng suppressed the sourness in his heart, sighed, and wrapped his arm around Gu Weilan’s shoulder. He said softly, "Lu Xuyin said he was drugged by his clan to make him reflect on his actions. It was originally supposed to be a drug that would make him weak. However, he was allergic to one of the ingredients and fell straight into a coma. The trusted aide guarding his door had no idea something was wrong.

"Lu Xuyin’s eldest brother needed him to marry into the Vermilion Bird Clan to pry some benefits away for the Dragon Clan. Therefore, he instigated Lu Xuyin’s youngest brother to send you a weird message on the Light Brain, wanting to force you to cancel the match with him.

"Those elders waited and waited but didn’t see Lu Xuyin yield, so they sent a Dragon Clan elder to check on him. As a result, they found him in shock."

Gu Weilan couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She quickly waved her hand. "I normally wouldn’t laugh unless the situation is far from normal."

Shi Lingfeng pursed his lips. "Then, after they rescued Lu Xuyin and realized they had almost killed him, they made a deal with him. If he could endure the trials on the frontlines, they would agree to let Lu Xuyin form a bond with you.

"Lu Xuyin agreed to their terms and set off immediately. But he felt he couldn’t take this lying down, so he spread the word everywhere, saying that the Dragon Clan elders underestimated him by assuming he was oblivious to their schemes.

"If a female and a male matched by the Beast God Matching System do not form a bond within half a year, the system assumes both parties are busy but unable to do so due to circumstances—perhaps they are separated by several planets, or one of them is fighting on the frontlines. It will automatically extend the deadline by another six months.

"Only if the bond is still not formed after that half-year extension will the match be automatically considered canceled. A fine of five million Star Coins will be deducted from the female, and fifty million Star Coins from the male. Moreover, their ability to purchase many items will be restricted.

"Lu Xuyin talks about this every day just so Ji Yanqing will take them to finish the battlefield-clearing mission sooner. Then, when they return to the Central Star for debriefing and resupplying, he can seize the time to form a bond."

Gu Weilan chuckled. "It was that tumultuous?"

Shi Lingfeng nodded. "Yes, it was just that complicated. But I feel like he clearly could have found a chance to escape while his family was sending him to the frontlines and come find you. To put it bluntly, he just didn’t want to form a bond that much."

Gu Weilan poked Shi Lingfeng’s abs. "He agreed to the elders’ deal. If he ran away halfway, what kind of person would that make him?"

Shi Lingfeng hugged Gu Weilan tighter. His large tail curled around her lower back, brushing past her waist dimples. "You’re speaking up for him. You’re actually speaking up for him! You’re making excuses for him!"

Gu Weilan closed her eyes and bit Shi Lingfeng’s pectoral muscle. She didn’t let go until she heard him let out an involuntary muffled groan. "Yes, I’m bad. You’re good. Let me coax you, then."

Gu Weilan rolled over, pinning Shi Lingfeng down with a smile on her lips.

The tips of Shi Lingfeng’s ears quickly turned red. Beneath the cover of the night, his long, narrow peach-blossom eyes were a pair of sparkling black pools. Gu Weilan leaned down and kissed him. The moonlight shone through the window, casting a halo over their intertwined silhouettes.

The Shi Family was progressing rapidly with the construction of their factory. They had already selected a few locations, though they were still looking for the most cost-effective suppliers for the medicinal herbs they needed. Meanwhile, Zhuoma’s Tibetan Antelope Beast Clan planned to take on a portion of the orders. Additionally, two of Jin Taoyao’s Beast Husbands came from clans specializing in cultivating vegetables and medicinal plants; they also wanted to leverage Jin Taoyao’s connections to secure some of the orders.

Therefore, Shi Lingfeng had recently been busy coordinating this matter. Coupled with the fact that he was about to leave soon to attend to his own affairs, he had pestered Gu Weilan for several nights in a row, finally causing Lorenzo to lose his patience.

"Beast Husband Shi Lingfeng is going out to busy himself tomorrow, right?" Lorenzo looked at Shi Lingfeng, his gaze somewhat hostile.

Shi Lingfeng pushed up the bridge of his glasses with his middle finger and looked back at Lorenzo. "Does Beast Husband Lorenzo have any advice to offer?"

Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. "What advice could I possibly have? I just want to say that Beast Husband Shi Lingfeng should know when to stop. Lanlan has been holding her waist these past two days; it’s not very good for her health. Among us, there has to be a Beast Husband who cares about Lanlan’s body, right?"

He added mentally, "Like me! I am very worried that Female Master’s body will be ruined by you!"

After Lorenzo finished speaking, he tilted his chin up slightly, his eyes extremely unfriendly.

Shi Lingfeng narrowed his eyes and gave a slight nod. "You wouldn’t understand the fun Lanlan and I share. Even when we’re just chatting about things, we can’t help but hold each other. Even if some Beast Husbands get jealous and use schemes to cool the affection between Lanlan and me for a while, it is useless."

He scoffed inwardly, "Just like that time you insisted on pulling Zhan Heng out, making him beat me to it and become Female Master’s true Beast Husband in name and reality—so what? Female Master and I are soulmates. We talk about absolutely everything!"

Shi Lingfeng’s underlying message was clearly conveyed to Lorenzo through his eyes.

"We are just that compatible! It’s not something other Beastmen can be jealous of," Shi Lingfeng stated.

Seeing that Shi Lingfeng and Lorenzo were at each other’s throats, Shen Mianzhou couldn’t help but step in to smooth things over by changing the subject. "Where is Female Master?"

Shi Lingfeng answered, "She should be playing with the cat."

At the same time, Lorenzo answered, "She should be absorbing Star Cores."

Samuel Riel looked at Shi Lingfeng, then at Lorenzo, and couldn’t help but reply, "After breakfast this morning, Female Master took the cat and the bird back to her room for half an hour. Then she took a Star Core and went to the glasshouse to look at the medicine field for a while. She just returned to her room; I don’t know what she’s doing now."

Samuel’s words were like an invisible slap to both Shi Lingfeng’s and Lorenzo’s faces, meaning they had both guessed wrong. The two men both turned to look at Samuel. His unreasonably beautiful face showed no malicious intent, but being stared at made him feel extremely embarrassed, and he reached up to rub the tip of his nose.

Meanwhile, in her own room, Gu Weilan locked the door and ducked into her space.

Her points in the System Mall were finally enough to purchase an upgrade that would expand the daily output of Spiritual Spring Water.

"It really hurts. After spending these million-plus points, I have no idea when I’ll be able to save up another million," Gu Weilan grumbled.

Pomegranate Seed gasped. "After Zhan Heng rolled out the Selection Level Cultivation Liquid, several atavistic cubs have already appeared. Your ten-percent point commission alone amounts to ten or twenty thousand at a time. What are you complaining about being broke for...?"

Gu Weilan sighed. "I’m complaining because there are so many things I want to buy. If I already had everything I wanted, who would complain about being broke!"

Pomegranate Seed couldn’t help but roll his eyes. "Host, you have to realize that the academy’s production lines have already been set up on several habitable planets. Earning a few dozen or a few hundred points a day adds up to tens of thousands of points a month. Furthermore, the academy plans to establish production lines across all habitable planets.

"In less than a year, your daily point income could reach thousands, or even tens of thousands! With 365 days in a year, you’ll easily pull in millions of points annually! So, what the heck are you complaining about being broke for!"

Gu Weilan pursed her lips. "That is a matter for the future," she thought. "What does it have to do with me right now? Honestly!"
