Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Adding 4 More Cubs

The branch dean of the Central Beastman Academy Agricultural and Science Institute nodded. The head dean had only come to show how much importance they attached to this matter.

Seeing the branch dean nod, Gu Weilan gave a slight nod in return.

After Gu Weilan finished explaining the necessary precautions, the branch dean and the head dean showered her with praise before finally taking their leave.

When Shen Mianzhou returned, his very aura seemed to have undergone a subtle transformation. Yet, the moment he laid eyes on Gu Weilan, his gaze was as entirely captivated by her as ever.

After Gu Weilan gave Zhan Heng the Bloodline Purification Potion to drink, she, Shen Mianzhou, and Zhan Heng all began to soak in the Bloodline Purification Bath. She added a small piece of a centuries-old plant from her spatial dimension into each batch of the Extracted Medicinal Bath Liquid.

In their respective rooms, the three of them howled in endless agony.

After Shi Lingfeng was finally freed by Grandma Shi and the other grandmas, he naturally had the time to join Xie Jing and Samuel in sneaking over to see what was going on with Gu Weilan, Zhan Heng, and Shen Mianzhou.

It wasn’t just them who were curious. The four little cubs also crouched quietly outside Gu Weilan’s door, poking their big heads forward, desperate to know what was happening.

The Silver-spotted Cat and the Fluffy Chicken had recovered a bit of their senses, but Gu Weilan had locked them in the first-floor pet room, feigning ignorance. They could only hear the miserable screams echoing through the villa without any way of knowing what was actually going on.

The two Mo Qilin cubs stuck their little bottoms in the air, pushing their heads hard against the door to Zhan Heng’s room. It was unclear whether the two were worried about what was happening to their father or if they just wanted to see what the commotion was all about.

The Azure Qilin cub first pressed his little ears against the door to listen to Shen Mianzhou’s screams, then sniffed the air. He seemed to be extremely sensitive to smells. He immediately backed up several steps and began to gag, looking like a cat trying to cough up a hairball.

Only the most beautiful Azure jade Qilin was scratching at Gu Weilan’s door with her paws, looking incredibly anxious. She let out a few bird-like chirps and was just preparing to ram her head against the door when Shi Lingfeng scooped her up.

Shi Lingfeng was a nervous wreck. "Your mother is just soaking in a medicinal bath to improve her constitution and bloodline. Don’t be afraid."

At that exact moment, however, Gu Weilan felt a sudden lightness wash over her body, and the intense pain faded significantly.

"Your daughter used her Word Spirit Spell to make it hurt less," Pomegranate Seed announced.

Gu Weilan’s eyes widened. "Huh?" she asked in her mind.

Pomegranate Seed explained, "Why do you think everyone wants to restore their atavistic bloodlines? Because atavistic bloodlines can awaken the native Talent Skills of their respective Beast Clans. For instance, the Talent Skill of Sea Horse Clan females allows any male Beastman they mate with to grow a brood pouch.

"As your daughter masters the Word Spirit Spell, the laws of heaven and earth will grant enlightenment to the Beastmen of the Qilin Clan. For those with relatively pure Qilin bloodlines, this sensation will be especially profound.

"Their bloodlines will begin to resonate, receiving a clear revelation from the unseen forces of the world: a new ability has been added to the Qilin Clan’s Talent Skills. As long as they meet specific predestined conditions, they too can leverage the power of the Word Spirit, relying on their shared bloodline source."

Gu Weilan gave a slight nod. "So, the more atavistic cubs I have, the more I’ll gain the same Talent Skills as them?"

"Yep. That’s pretty much what it means," Pomegranate Seed said, giving her a thumbs-up.

Gu Weilan finally felt a trace of concern. "Since it doesn’t hurt as much, will the medicine still be effective?"

"Of course. The efficacy remains unchanged; you just don’t feel as much pain."

Gu Weilan nodded. Looking at the black impurities and sticky grease continuously oozing from her body, she couldn’t help but feel a little nauseous. "By the way, why did my curse on the Dolphin Clan fail?"

"Oh, Host, you targeted a whole group. You don’t possess such powerful cursing abilities yet. Why don’t you try cursing a single Beastman? Furthermore, after a successful curse, you have to rest for ten to thirty days. It’s not something you can use endlessly every day to torture someone to death."

Gu Weilan immediately spoke out loud, "I curse Xie Jinglan to suffer a splitting headache the moment she even thinks about doing anything malicious to me and my family."

She distinctly felt a tremendous invisible force being expended. It looked like the curse was a success!

Gu Weilan was puzzled. "Why is it that I can only curse, while my daughter can bless?"

"Who told you your daughter gave a blessing?" Pomegranate Seed retorted. "Your daughter clearly said she wanted the other two Beastmen who made her mother hurt so much to share her mother’s pain. How does that not count as a curse?"

Gu Weilan quickly pursed her lips, afraid that she would laugh too loudly and drown out the miserable screams of Zhan Heng and Shen Mianzhou. How could this not be considered a form of filial piety?

When Gu Weilan finished the medicinal bath and stepped out, she felt CRACKLING sounds coming from all her joints. It was as if she had been fitted with brand-new parts that were still unfamiliar with each other.

Meanwhile, Zhan Heng and Shen Mianzhou looked as though they had just endured some inhumane, devastating torture. The two of them lay limply in their bathtubs, their breathing faint. They clearly needed some time to recover before they could even stand up.

They muttered to themselves in their minds, "We really have grown weaker, as expected. We almost couldn’t endure the pain."

The little Azure jade Qilin silently hid her heroic deeds.

Just as Shi Lingfeng was standing there chuckling foolishly, Grandma Shi came running up to the third floor. "Ah Feng! The cubs! They’re about to be born! Come quick!"

Although Grandma Shi was stumbling over her words and speaking incoherently, everyone understood what she meant: Shi Lingfeng’s cubs were about to be born.

Shi Lingfeng had never imagined that giving birth to cubs would require such a massive amount of energy. He finally felt a deep sense of empathy for his mother. Did his mother experience this much pain when she gave birth to him? Or perhaps, was it even more painful? A pain that drained all energy and felt as if his meridians were on the verge of shattering.

Gu Weilan had the cleaning robot scrub away the filth in the bathtub. By the time she finished showering and stepped out of her room feeling completely refreshed, she heard Pomegranate Seed broadcast to her:

"Congratulations, Host, on giving birth to a male Gray Wolf Clan cub. You have earned 1,000 points.

"Congratulations, Host, on giving birth to a male atavistic White Wolf cub. You have earned 100,000 points. You are awarded Luck +1.

"Congratulations, Host, on giving birth to a female Gray Wolf Clan cub. You have earned 2,000 points.

"Congratulations, Host, on giving birth to a female atavistic bloodline Chiling cub. You have earned 200,000 points. You are awarded the Bones of Steel Talent Skill."

Gu Weilan tilted her head in confusion. "I can understand luck; I’m guessing it’s something like fate or fortune, right?" she asked.

Pomegranate Seed gave a thumbs-up. "The Host is wise."

Gu Weilan choked slightly before continuing her questioning. "Then what is this Bones of Steel thing all about?"

"It’s meant literally. When you’re in a fight and throw a punch, the opponent will feel as if they’ve been smashed in the head with an iron hammer."

Gu Weilan took a deep breath. It was pretty good. If she was getting free abilities, who was she to be picky?

Gu Weilan hurriedly went downstairs. She wore a pink wide-strap tank top that beautifully accentuated the exquisite curves of her body. For her lower half, she sported gray sweatpants and a pair of white, thick-soled shock-absorbing sneakers.

Her hair was still slightly damp, twisted into a bun and secured at the back of her head with a hairpin that Zhan Heng had specially carved for her. A slightly curled lock of black hair fell beside her collarbone, highlighting her lazy and casual demeanor.

She walked briskly to the liveliest room on the second floor, eager to see what exactly the White Wolf looked like, and what kind of creature the Chiling was.
