Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Why Did You Have to Provoke Her?

Pomegranate Seed quickly told Gu Weilan which Beast Clans the Beast Husbands brought by Xie Jinglan came from.

Then, Gu Weilan said unhurriedly, "Within a year, I will develop an upgraded version of the Cultivation Liquid, and I will also prioritize cooperating with academies. In that case, you can help me ensure that the Blue Tiger Clan, Sand Fox Clan, Porcupine Clan, Python Clan, and Dolphin Clan are not allowed to buy my Cultivation Liquid, right?"

Xie Jinglan was the first to lose her temper. She was both shocked and furious. "You can’t do this!"

The Pharmacy Professor nodded. "Yes, yes, we can certainly handle a small matter like that."

Gu Weilan looked lazily at the grim faces of the elders across from her. She shrugged. "Trying to suppress me and catch a White Wolf empty-handed? Not only will I slap you twice, but I’ll also pull out your entire family’s teeth!

"Not only will I do that, but I’ll also cooperate with the Beast Clans you don’t get along with, allowing them to raise even more outstanding cubs! I want your Beast Clans to be weak and easily bullied three generations from now!"

Gu Weilan put on an infuriatingly smug expression that practically dared them to do something about it, and rolled her eyes at them.

Xie Jinglan was furious. The Beast Husband beside her grasped her hand and looked at Gu Weilan, slowly speaking up. "I think that since we are Zhan Heng and Xie Jing’s elders after all, if you don’t agree to something, we simply won’t do it. There’s no need to be so ruthless, is there?

"It’s not a good thing for young Beastmen to have such big tempers. Acting like this will only put Zhan Heng and Xie Jing in a difficult position."

Gu Weilan looked completely indifferent. "I don’t care what you think, I only care what I think!"

"Not... at... all..." Pomegranate Seed chimed in. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Gu Weilan almost broke character and laughed. She couldn’t help but wildly retort to Pomegranate Seed in her mind, "Are you crazy?!"

"Ah, I couldn’t hold it back," it replied.

"Furthermore," Gu Weilan continued aloud, "if young Beastmen don’t have a temper, how can they be considered driven and ambitious young Beastmen?"

Gu Weilan made it clear she was completely impervious to persuasion.

Xie Jinglan’s face turned even uglier, and she couldn’t help but shake off her Beast Husband’s hand. "As an elder, my words were just a bit blunt earlier. I’ve already given you an out, so you should quit while you’re ahead! Are we never going to interact in the future?"

Gu Weilan chuckled. "Whoever wants to interact with you can go ahead. I’ll pass. I completely reject you!"

"You!"

Gu Weilan waved her hand dismissively. "Stop dragging things out with all this useless nonsense!

"If you want to use family ties to manipulate Zhan Heng and Xie Jing, that’s your tactic. If Zhan Heng is in my home but his heart is with you, it’s not like I can’t..."

Zhan Heng reached out a hand and tightly grasped Gu Weilan’s. He couldn’t bear to hear his Female Master say she didn’t want him. Just the thought of it made his heart ache so much he felt like dying.

"My attitude today has already made it perfectly clear to you. In this world, the person I love most is myself.

"In my home, there is no such thing as swallowing my pride and suffering in silence for the sake of any Beast Husband or any bloodline’s cubs.

"None of that exists here, got it? Do you understand?

"If you understand, you can leave!"

Gu Weilan waved Xie Jinglan off impatiently.

Grandma Shi and the other two elders stood up and looked at Xie Jinglan. Grandma Shi raised her hand in a gesture to see the guests out. A faint smile appeared on her hale and hearty face. "Please leave. Oh, by the way, the Shi Family thinks very highly of our granddaughter-in-law. If you want to pull any little tricks... I advise you against it."

Seeing the Shi Family defend Gu Weilan like this, Xie Jinglan and her group couldn’t resist leaving some parting venom to disgust them before they left. "The Shi Family didn’t say a single word earlier, but now you jump out to play the good Beastmen? Hah—"

Gu Weilan couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

Back when she formed teams for missions in the Apocalypse, she also had to observe the teams’ adaptability in handling situations. What, did she and the Shi Family have some sort of life-and-death bond? Should the Shi Family just skip evaluating anything as soon as they arrived? Should they just rush up and act like they were best friends with her? If that were the case, given her cautious and slightly suspicious nature, she would only suspect the Shi Family had ulterior motives.

"You don’t actually think such a low-intelligence provocation will work on me, do you? Seriously? You probably couldn’t even imagine the greeting gift they gave me in your entire lifetime.

"I might have a bad temper, but I at least know how to be grateful, unlike your family. Hurry up and get lost, you’re ruining the air in here."

Gu Weilan rolled her eyes as she spoke.

Xie Jing was being pulled away by one of Xie Jinglan’s Beast Husbands, and Gu Weilan just watched him. If he didn’t choose to stay of his own accord, then he was a lost cause. She didn’t want a Beast Husband who couldn’t even tell when others were mistreating him, who was subjected to psychological abuse yet made no effort to break free from his environment.

Gu Weilan had no intention of teaching her Beast Husbands; the world of adult Beastmen was about filtering, not changing people.

Fortunately, Xie Jing shook off the Beastman’s hand. "I want to stay by my Female Master’s side."

"Have you thought this through? She hasn’t even treated you as a Beast Husband! If you stay like this, she won’t respect you!" the Beastman retorted.

"Yes, I’ve thought it through."

Xie Jinglan turned her head. Her brows furrowed tightly before relaxing. She said to her Beast Husband, "Forget it. A grown son no longer listens to his Mother. Let him stay."

Gu Weilan wanted to deal one final blow and tell them that even if they left Xie Jing behind, she still wouldn’t take back what she had just said. If she said she wouldn’t sell Cultivation Liquid to the Beastmen of their Beast Clans, then she wouldn’t sell it! Did they think leaving Xie Jing behind would allow him to sweet-talk her in bed?

They were overthinking it.

After Xie Jinglan and her group of Beastmen left, the Pharmacy Professor hurriedly deactivated his shield, opened his Light Brain, and taught Gu Weilan how to adjust her settings.

"If you check this box, you can choose to block specific Beastmen from contacting you. Or, you can set it so that all Beastmen looking for you must receive your authorization before they can even enter the academy."

Gu Weilan selected the option requiring her authorization for visits; otherwise, her villa’s location would remain invisible to them.

"This time really scared me so much, Professor!" she cried. Gu Weilan pouted. "When all those High-level Beastmen came into my house earlier, I was almost scared to tears!"

The Pharmacy Professor smoothed his hand over his balding, comb-over hairstyle and gave his head a toss. "Don’t be afraid! This was our oversight. With so many Beastmen coming to find you, we should have taken it more seriously!"

"I’m so glad you came, Professor!"

The Pharmacy Professor gently patted Gu Weilan on the head, while the Botany Professor lightly patted her shoulder.

"Don’t be afraid, it’s alright now, it’s all in the past," they comforted. "We’ll have the security patrols strengthened around this area. Stop being afraid now, alright? Rest assured."

Gu Weilan didn’t want the professors to think she was a ruthless female to her core. That wouldn’t be very beneficial for their continued cooperation in the future. She needed to portray the character of a terrified little female who spoke recklessly out of fear, doing everything in her power just to protect herself.

Showing weakness could sometimes yield quite a few benefits.

After seeing off the heartbroken Pharmacy Professor and Botany Professor, Gu Weilan also thanked the elders of the Shi Family. They waved their hands dismissively and carried the Incubation Pod upstairs.

Gu Weilan looked at the fruit juice on the table and felt a real pang of heartache. Left with no choice, she had the robot butler pour the juice from the table out for the Silver-spotted Cat and the newly feathered chicken. Otherwise, it would be wasted. She really hated robot butlers who couldn’t read the room!

Xie Jing sat uneasily on the sofa. When he saw Gu Weilan finish her tasks and sit down, he couldn’t help but look at Zhan Heng. He tightly hugged the Incubation Pod, feeling a little afraid.
