Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Dreaming of Raking in System Mall Points Daily

At first, Samuel was shocked, even feeling a bit dizzy. However, he quickly froze in surprise.

"Who? Is it... Lorenzo Snow?"

Zhan Heng nodded, raising an eyebrow slightly. "You know each other?"

Samuel clenched his jaw and pursed his lips. He looked at Gu Weilan, appearing somewhat aggrieved. "Is he... is he a bounty hunter?"

Gu Weilan’s eyes gleamed with gossip as she nodded. "Yes, that’s him!"

She wondered, "What’s going on? Is there some weird entanglement between them?"

Samuel opened his mouth but let out a sigh. "I don’t know where he accepted his mission from, but he sneaked into our Sea Palace and tried to steal from us. We had a fight back then, but nothing much came of it. We can’t really be considered enemies."

As he spoke, he sneakily observed Gu Weilan’s expression, terrified that she might be unhappy about this.

To his surprise, Gu Weilan looked utterly disappointed.

She thought, "That’s it?"

Zhan Heng raised an eyebrow and poked Gu Weilan’s cheek. Turning her head, she lightly bit his finger. In response, Zhan Heng used his remaining three fingers to hook her chin, lowering his head to kiss her right then and there.

Gu Weilan’s face instantly turned completely red! She pushed Zhan Heng away before turning to look at Samuel.

Samuel’s ears were bright red, and his eyes involuntarily darted around. His mind was reeling as he wondered, "Ahhh! You can do that?! You can do that?!"

Zhan Heng lightly tapped the tip of Gu Weilan’s nose. "Alright. Housekeeper Zhan Ci is going to keep an eye on the production line later. Did you give him the things that need to be added?"

Gu Weilan nodded. "I did. How could I forget about making money?"

Zhan Heng pursed his lips and added, "My mother... she might want to come over in a few days. She said she wants to see me."

Seeing that Zhan Heng didn’t look very happy mentioning his mother, Gu Weilan patted his hand. "If you don’t want to see her, we won’t. You’re already my Beast Husband, and I will protect you. But if you do want to see her, I’ll accompany you."

The concept of kinship in the Beastman World was quite fascinating. Once cubs grew up, they would head out to become independent. Even if they didn’t want to, most would be kicked out to fend for themselves, much like the animal documentaries Gu Weilan had watched before the Apocalypse. However, once those adult cubs produced their own offspring, their families would seek them out again, resuming contact to strengthen their race together.

To Gu Weilan, this type of relationship was a very novel form of family bonding. She didn’t understand it, but she respected it.

But as for making her follow it?

No way. She had endured the Apocalypse for years, her mental state on the verge of collapse, before being brought to this world by the system, Pomegranate Seed. Her sole purpose now was to find her own happiness. Why should she abide by other people’s rules? This extra lifetime she got to live was already a freebie. If she had gained an entirely new life for free but couldn’t live it freely and happily, then what was the point of living at all?

Gu Weilan knew that Lorenzo’s father had sacrificed himself, and his mother was being supported and cared for by the Starlight Rabbit Clan. Lorenzo maintained a fairly good relationship with the Starlight Rabbit Clan, especially with his father’s cousin.

As for Shi Lingfeng’s family, they were embroiled in a bitter battle for succession, with the heirs seeing red as they slaughtered one another. His maternal grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather were all gone. However, the other partners of the elders were still alive, though none of them interfered with the internal affairs of the Gray Wolf Beast Clan.

Since Shi Lingfeng’s bloodline was relatively pure, he was naturally highly valued by his elders. They were all hoping that he could sire female cubs of the Gray Wolf Clan with a high degree of bloodline purity. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have given Gu Weilan such an extravagant introductory gift.

Regarding Zhan Heng’s side of the family, Gu Weilan didn’t know much, mainly because he never liked to bring it up. She only knew that Zhan Heng and Xie Jing’s father was their mother’s Beast Husband. He had offered a tremendous benefit before their mother agreed to set aside some time to bear a litter for the Qilin Clan—and only a single litter at that.

After Zhan Heng and Xie Jing were born, one took the surname Zhan from the Qilin Clan, while the other took the surname Xie from the Dolphin Clan. Even though Xie Jing was raised primarily in the Qilin Clan, their mother favored him more. Other than that, Gu Weilan was in the dark.

As for Shen Mianzhou’s side, Gu Weilan knew that his mother looked down on herbivorous Beast Clans, which was why his father was unloved by her. Ironically, Shen Mianzhou’s mother was a herbivore herself.

Gu Weilan naturally wanted to treat her Beast Husbands better. Deep down, however, she prioritized being the best to herself, and then treating them well—better than any other Beastman. That was enough for her.

Zhan Heng kissed Gu Weilan’s forehead and carried the Incubation Pod upstairs.

Meanwhile, Gu Weilan pulled Samuel along to the fourth floor to pick out a room. Samuel chose the largest one, which came with a walk-in closet.

While listening to the conversation between Zhan Heng and Gu Weilan, he realized that his Female Master was very gentle. Even though he could sense an undeniable sharp and heroic spirit about her, he still felt her underlying tenderness in the way she spoke and treated others.

Now, Samuel was incredibly eager for night to fall.

Ever since Gu Weilan learned that she could earn points whenever other Beastmen used her basic Cultivation Liquid formula to successfully nurture cubs, she would frequently hole up in her en-suite bathroom to check her balance. After seeing if her points had changed, she would enter her spatial dimension to study it.

When she checked today, she noticed a steady stream of deposits: 80 points, 70 points, 60 points, 60 points, 80 points...

The pattern of these incoming points baffled her. She wondered if the points varied based on the aptitude of the cubs.

Truth be told, Gu Weilan had actually guessed the correct answer.

Gu Weilan let out a sigh. It was yet another day of missing Pomegranate Seed.

She finally organized her spatial dimension, dedicating one side entirely to planting zero-pollution crops needed for the Cultivation Liquid formula as seed reserves, while reserving the other side for fruits and vegetables. Her dimension was also becoming increasingly stable. Although the Spiritual Spring Water was still scarce, she spotted items in the System Mall that could expand the output of the Spiritual Spring.

After sorting everything out, she diligently reviewed all the material she needed for next month’s exams.

When night finally fell, she made her way to Samuel’s room.

Gu Weilan was very curious about just how big of a surprise Samuel would bring her. However, she still had him drink a vial of Bloodline Purification Potion first.

After enduring the agony, Samuel took a shower with red, teary eyes. Only when he walked out of the bathroom did Gu Weilan speak up. "That was a good item for bloodline purification. I was just about to tell you, but who knew you’d down it right away without even asking?"

Samuel felt incredibly wronged. "I was afraid that if I asked, Female Master, you would think I didn’t trust you. That’s why I just drank it straight down.

"But you didn’t even tell me that it would hurt so much!"

Gu Weilan had secretly drunk it herself before, so she naturally knew exactly how excruciating it was.

"But this is for the sake of siring more outstanding cubs! So, don’t be upset."

Samuel was rather delicate. He hugged Gu Weilan and nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck before finally processing what she had just said.

"Ah? Bloodline purification... The thing you gave me to drink was a Bloodline Purification Potion?" Samuel was utterly flabbergasted.

Gu Weilan nodded. "Yes. That’s right."
