My System Forces Me to Live off Women
Chapter 811 - 429: The Birth of Li Weiyi (Part 4)
"Yes, Duoduo..."
Just as Li Xin started speaking, Zhao Qingge opened her eyes slightly and shook her head: "Not doing it."
She chose not to undergo painless childbirth entirely because she secretly wanted to compare herself with Huang Tianxuan.
When Huang Tianxuan gave birth, she endured it without anesthesia. How could Zhao Qingge opt for painless childbirth? Wouldn’t that mean she was weaker?
Absolutely not!
Even though Li Xin gently persuaded her for quite a while, Zhao Qingge didn’t change her mind. Li Peifeng had no good solutions, so he could only request two more bottles of nitrous oxide from the midwife, hoping this would ease Old Zhao’s discomfort.
When Zhao Qingge got the bottle, her consciousness was already somewhat blurred. She vaguely remembered that it seemed Huang Tianxuan had also used this stuff, so using it herself didn’t count as showing weakness, and she took large inhalations.
After about a minute and a half, Zhao Qingge’s spirits slightly lifted. She suddenly grasped Li Peifeng’s hand tightly, her eyes unusually tender: "Just this one, I won’t have any more children after this!"
"Yes, yes, one is enough."
Li Peifeng comforted her repeatedly: "If you still like babies in the future, I’ll let Manning and Yueyue help you have more!"
"..."
It quickly turned to two o’clock in the afternoon, and the elders from both families were still enduring the anxious wait outside.
Zhao Haiqi and Li Xinxin were stressed and on edge, unable to sit still. One kept checking their watch every two minutes, and the other repeatedly wanted to enter the delivery room, but was stopped by Yu Huizhi.
"Don’t worry, with today’s advanced medical technology, Zhao Qingge’s prenatal checks showed excellent indicators, there’s absolutely no problem."
In contrast, Li Qiyuan was relatively calm and even initiated a topic about international current affairs, trying to distract Zhao Haiqi.
But Zhao Haiqi was hardly in the mood to engage in conversation, sighing: "Old Li, you’re really not anxious at all; you’re even joking with me? Oh right, you’ve been through this before, no wonder!"
Li Qiyuan’s face changed dramatically: "Been through what? I haven’t! The child in Zhao Qingge’s belly is my first grandson; besides that, there’s absolutely no other..."
Zhao Haiqi laughed: "I was talking about when you became an older father and had Yilan, what are you talking about?"
"Ah, yes, yes."
Li Qiyuan cursed inwardly but forced a smile on his face, trying to make amends: "Exactly, keeping a calm mindset is what’s important. My wife was over forty when she smoothly gave birth to Yilan, and Zhao Qingge, being much younger, definitely has no problems. Life isn’t like the movies; there aren’t that many dramatic twists and turns."
As Old Li had said, although Zhao Qingge had endured a lot of pain, at three ten in the afternoon, the child was born smoothly and without incident!
"Congratulations, mother and child are healthy. The little one weighs seven pounds eight ounces! Quite heavy, no wonder it took some effort to deliver."
The midwife carefully handed the child to Li Peifeng for the family to see upon entering the delivery room.
"Ah, good, Duoduo did great."
"Qingge, thank you for your hard work."
Zhao Qingge, looking weary, reached out to Li Peifeng, who instinctively brought the child to her view: "Honey, look."
Zhao Qingge carefully observed, feeling that this little one looked quite similar to Huang Zhiyi at birth—wrinkled and not exactly pretty. But he was her flesh and blood, larger and heavier than Huang Zhiyi at birth!
Zhao Qingge’s lips curled into an inexplicable smile and she announced to the parents: "Dad, Mom, his surname is Li, and his name is Weiyi, Li Weiyi."
Yu Huizhi seemed unclear and confirmed: "Li Wei Yi?"
"Weiyi, Li Weiyi."
This name made Li Qiyuan sigh inwardly, but outwardly, he beamed with joy: "It’s a good name. Let me take a look at our family’s only big grandson."
