Chapter 724 - 405: The Neighbor Next Door

"Hello, you two don’t live in this community, do you?"

A black Geely Xingrui sedan slowly approached the entrance of the Longhu Qingqin community. A security guard came up to inquire a couple of questions, and then after receiving a phone call, he granted them access.

Li Xin put her phone away and sighed, "So the house they bought is pretty close to ours, within a kilometer?"

"About that, the houses here aren’t cheap... How much did our daughter say they spent?"

"A full eighty million, and it’s in both their names."

Zhao Haiqi stifled a laugh at the price, "Not bad, I’ve never doubted Li Peifeng’s ability to make money. I knew he could afford a house of this level eventually, just didn’t expect it so soon. Li Xin nodded knowingly, "Moving here would indeed be better. If they do move, we can gift them an extra house as a part of the bridal gift."

In the midst of this short conversation, the car arrived in front of Villa 28. Feeling a bit unsure, Li Xin thought of calling to confirm and have them open the door, but the door opened, with Li Peifeng standing there, two chairs beside him.

"Uncle, Aunt, you’ve arrived?"

He greeted with a smile and picked up the two chairs, seemingly ready to walk outside.

Zhao Haiqi looked at the chair with a hint of confusion, "Peifeng, what’s this?"

"Oh, borrowed from a neighbor."

Li Peifeng, smiling unabated, lifted the chairs and explained, "The neighbor next door has guests, didn’t have enough chairs, so they borrowed a few from me... Uncle, Aunt, please come in, Qingge is inside. I’ll just drop these off and be back right away."

The couple had an instinctive sense of oddity. Considering they’re all living in these multi-hundred square meter villas, how could they be short of chairs? It didn’t make much sense!

Meanwhile, Li Peifeng walked over to the villa next door, with no lights in the windows, and a pitch-black front yard, which didn’t look inhabited at all - Number 27.

As the renovation had just started, the villa was still a bare shell. Not to mention no lighting or seating, there wasn’t even heating, making it dark and cold!

The issues of cold and darkness were something Li Peifeng couldn’t solve. He could only provide a few chairs for the three girls to sit, and this was his second time delivering chairs.

Fortunately, thanks to the streetlights within the community, he could see the path in the front yard, but inside was much darker. As soon as he entered, he saw the three girls directing their phone flashlights at him.

Huang Tianxuan chuckled, "Here he comes again with the chairs."

Wu Wenyue mocked, "Again with just two? Who’s the extra for? A ghost?!"

"What good does lugging chairs back and forth do? Tell me, how are we supposed to stay here?"

Xu Manning, rubbing her hands and stomping in frustration, vented, "You really plan on having us sit here and wait, huh? I told you we’d stay in the upstairs small bedroom with the hidden door. Lock it from the inside, they’d never know... But you’re truly heartless, you beast! I can’t do this, I’m leaving!!"

Just as she was about to leave, Li Peifeng quickly stopped her, "This place indeed isn’t quite cozy... but you could go sit in the car, turn on the air conditioning, it’ll be fine. I’ll open the garage door, and you guys can stay in there. Don’t come inside the house, it’s easier to get caught. Once I see them off, you can come in, okay, dear?"

Xu Manning remained displeased, "Okay, Nima! You’ve frozen my next year’s period!"

Huang Tianxuan sighed, "It’s not just the cold body, but a cold heart! Winter is supposedly over, but my heart feels like it’s frozen all over again..."

Li Peifeng grinned, "Why don’t you two give her a little warmth in the car, I don’t mind."

Wu Wenyue furiously retorted, "Get lost already, stop talking nonsense while shivering out here!"

"Alright, I’m leaving, people have arrived."

Li Peifeng hurriedly left, the three girls looking at each other. Wu Wenyue still holding onto some anger, thought for a moment before speaking up first, "Nope, I have to vent this today. If those two aren’t staying here, I’ll just take the first night in this house for myself, grab the master bedroom immediately... Alright, I’m going home to pack. Manning, are you staying or leaving?"

Xu Manning’s eyes darted around, "Staying is definitely on the agenda, and the master bedroom is a must, but... first, follow me."

She led the two girls to the eastern side door of the villa’s inner corner. Opening the door revealed a narrow passageway, with small paths on the left and right leading to the front and back yards, but right ahead stood a three-meter-high wall.

Villas 27 and 28 were separated by this wall.

Xu Manning pointed firmly at the wall, "Yueyue, tell the designer tomorrow to knock a hole in this wall, make a door. That way, we can often visit them at their house!"
