Chapter 449: Chapter 449: So That’s the Truth

The man who had been sitting silently to the side finally spoke up. "For you to be willing to part with those territories, this can’t be a small matter.

If you don’t explain it clearly, Young Master Miller, we won’t dare to make a move."

Zoe Sawyer’s gaze fell on the man who had just spoken, and she was struck by his resemblance to the person beside him.

If he hadn’t spoken, she wouldn’t have even noticed him. ’His presence is practically nonexistent!’

Patrick Miller looked at the man who had just spoken. "What seems like a thorny issue to me might not be such a big deal for you two.

Your people are capable. I’m sure they can clean up the situation over there. I’m just a simple businessman; I don’t have the kind of power you two command.

But there’s no rush. I’ve invited another guest who should be arriving soon. For today, I’ve prepared plenty of fun and games for all of you. Once you’ve had your fun, we can talk business."

At the mention of this, the female boss perked up.

She tugged on Patrick Miller’s arm. "What about those undercover agents you caught? My hands are getting itchy. I don’t want to wait!"

Patrick Miller pulled his sleeve back from her grasp. "Not waiting until tomorrow?"

"No. Delays breed trouble. It’s better to kill them all tonight.

Then you can record a video and find a way to send it to their people." The female boss stood up, a trace of excitement in her voice.

She couldn’t help but laugh aloud, imagining their reactions when they received the video and saw what was on it.

’As for their retaliation?’

’They don’t even know what I look like. As long as I lay low for a while, I can re-emerge just the same!’

Patrick Miller had intended this as a favor to begin with, so he didn’t object after hearing what the female boss said.

The other two men, however, seemed interested and stood up as well. "You two don’t mind if we watch, do you?"

"I don’t care. Watch if you want," the female boss said with a dismissive wave, gesturing for Patrick Miller to lead the way.

Just before leaving, the female boss stopped and looked at the person lying in the bed, then at the two brothers following behind her. "Aren’t you two staying to watch him?" she asked, puzzled.

"It’s fine. Our father’s condition is stable, so he doesn’t need anyone watching over him. Besides, there are plenty of bodyguards outside and a medical team on standby. There won’t be any issues." The brothers waved their hands dismissively.

Since they put it that way, the female boss didn’t press the issue. She shrugged and followed Patrick Miller.

Watching everything from behind the door, Zoe Sawyer thought, ’This is bad.’

According to the intelligence they’d received that morning, the female boss was supposed to deal with the five wounded agents the next day.

That gave them an entire night as a buffer. With proper planning, they could have rescued most of the hostages without alerting the criminals.

But if the criminals went there now... ’Won’t we be exposed?’

Zoe Sawyer followed them. Sure enough, ten minutes later, the female boss and Patrick Miller were standing in the surveillance room, their faces grim.

The door to the room had been kicked in. Inside, a lanky man and a fat man were bound tightly.

Meanwhile, one of Patrick Miller’s bodyguards climbed the exterior stairs to the other room and reported what he saw inside to Miller via his phone.

"Kill those four incompetent bastards! They couldn’t even watch five unconscious men. There’s no use keeping them alive!" Patrick Miller snarled through clenched teeth.

The moment he finished speaking, several gunshots echoed from the room upstairs.

Patrick Miller looked at the lanky and fat men writhing on the floor, begging for their lives. His face was devoid of expression as he drew his pistol and shot each of them in the head.

’More useless trash.’

’If they’ve ruined my plans, their families have no reason to live either.’

The two brothers watching from the side seemed completely unfazed by the tense atmosphere in the room. One of them spoke again. "To think some rats snuck onto the ship without anyone noticing... Young Master Miller, your grip on things really is slipping."

Patrick Miller took a deep breath, then forced a smile. "Not at all. My plans certainly don’t end here.

Since that option is off the table, please, follow me. I have something else for you, something I’m sure you’ll like."

As he spoke, he signaled to a subordinate outside the door.

Patrick Miller’s man got the signal and trotted over to the room where several beautiful children were being held. After confirming they were all still there, he let out a sigh of relief.

As expected, a flash of satisfaction crossed the brothers’ eyes when they saw the children in the room.

They didn’t bother with pleasantries. Each brother took a child for himself, and they even picked one out for their father, based on his "tastes."

The female boss, upset that her "toys" were gone, was in no mood to linger. She said a few words and returned to her room.

Patrick Miller stood in the doorway, watching them leave. He kicked the door in frustration, then turned to a man beside him. "Have the men I called for arrived?"

"Yes, boss. They’ve been settled in, don’t worry."

The subordinate, who had trotted over to check on the situation, replied, "Should we make our move now?"

As he spoke, he took something from his pocket and handed it to Patrick Miller.

Finally, something was going according to plan. Patrick Miller’s mood improved slightly.

He considered his subordinate’s question for a moment, then said, "Get the boat ready. Once I’m aboard, release those people. As soon as the cruise ship descends into chaos, detonate the bombs!"

His original plan was simple: find a few scapegoats, use them to curry favor with the female boss and get a port from her, then cut the two brothers in on a piece of the action and hand the whole hot potato over to them.

But he never expected this!

The undercover agents he thought he had in the bag were rescued. That could only mean one thing: the military or the police were on board this ship!

All his previous plans were now useless.

To avoid tipping his hand, he decided it was better to leave the female boss and the others behind as well!

He had already found his scapegoats. Once the female boss and the brothers were dead, their organizations would be leaderless, and he could seize the opportunity to carve up a piece of their empires for himself.

Then, before anyone knew what happened, he would take his assets and his most trusted men and start over somewhere new!

As for the hostages he’d brought onto the cruise ship? They were no longer his problem.

"I understand. I’ll see to it at once." The subordinate bowed his head slightly and hurried away.

Patrick Miller glanced at the remaining men in the room. He raised a hand, signaling them to eliminate the children who hadn’t been chosen, along with all the remaining hostages.

Only after confirming there were no survivors did he depart. He had his own preparations to make.

Zoe Sawyer’s face went deathly pale.

’So this is the truth!’
