Chapter 430: Chapter 430: Finally Got It Done

Whatever the man on the other end of the line said, the boss’s expression darkened.

"You failed to do what I asked, and now you want me to send people to save you? You expect me to risk my other people for a useless piece of trash like you?" The boss’s tone was full of contempt. She glanced at the woman kneeling on the ground, clutching her chest, then kicked her flat.

She planted her foot on the woman’s face. "Let’s be clear. Without you, I’m just short one person. It doesn’t affect me in the slightest. And that so-called ’intel’ you think you have? It’s no threat to me at all.

You’re not nearly important enough for me to sacrifice anything else to get you out."

As she spoke, she ground her heel into the woman’s face before finally lifting her foot and motioning for the others standing nearby to pull the woman up.

The woman who was pulled to her feet kept her head bowed, showing no apparent resentment for what the boss had just done. But from Zoe Sawyer’s vantage point, her eyes were filled with hatred.

Her fingers tightened into fists, but she was quickly stopped by a woman beside her with a similar face, who pulled her back and shielded her.

After the boss finished speaking, she hung up. This was immediately followed by a series of actions—smashing windows, breaking down doors, and so on.

Once the scene returned to the time the room was set on fire, Zoe Sawyer closed the door.

"Did you get a look at the boss’s face?" Evan Keller walked over, his expression hopeful.

Zoe Sawyer nodded and, under Evan Keller’s expectant gaze, quickly moved to Beau’s side.

The two of them worked in perfect sync, and in no time, they had produced a sketch of the boss.

Then, after a moment’s thought, Zoe Sawyer also sketched the face of the woman she’d seen get kicked.

"This is the boss," Zoe Sawyer said, handing the sketch to Evan Keller. She then pointed to the other drawing and recounted the scene she had just witnessed.

After recounting the entire event, Zoe Sawyer finally voiced her question. "This boss has a terrible temper, and it’s obvious from her behavior that she treats her people horribly. Why would they still follow her so loyally?

Does she have some kind of leverage? Or are they being controlled with drugs?"

"It could also be that she has their families," Evan Keller said, recalling the confessions of previously captured suspects. Some had mentioned that the boss held their families hostage.

If they failed a mission or leaked any secrets, their families would be punished.

But for those who are on their own, that threat wouldn’t be enough. There must be something else at play that we haven’t found yet."

"I think we might be able to turn this one," Zoe Sawyer said, pointing to the sketch of the woman who had been kicked to the ground.

Being kicked down and having her face stomped on in front of all those people... anyone with an ounce of pride wouldn’t be able to stand that.

Zoe Sawyer only considered this because she had seen the woman’s clenched fists and her hate-filled eyes.

"It’s worth considering, but we have to be cautious. No need to rush. We’ll observe the situation before making a move." Evan Keller stroked his chin thoughtfully before adding, "For the next few days, we’ll keep them under surveillance, confirm their next location, and then decide on our next step."

They could use the door to bring people over, but the subsequent work—verifying evidence, rescuing hostages, and so on—would be difficult to carry out.

And since this is happening abroad, any large-scale search would inevitably alert the local authorities. To avoid unnecessary complications, they need to be fully prepared.

The two of them discussed things a little further, and after finalizing their plans, Evan Keller left with the intel on the boss.

He was going to continue the interrogations. Maybe he could squeeze a little more information about the boss out of them.

"I’m all set here for now. Zoe, do you want to check in with Heath’s team? As for the Kai Thorne case, we’ll have to wait on Gary Dawson’s end before we can close it out," Evan Keller said, pausing at the door and turning back to Zoe Sawyer.

Kai Thorne’s case is linked with Gary Dawson’s, so even if we clear things up, they’ll have to be wrapped up together.

Zoe Sawyer nodded. "Perfect. The people along that route haven’t been caught yet. I can go help out so we can close this case sooner."

After dividing up the tasks, they both got to work.

Of course they wanted to rest, but with cases piled up, the priority was to solve them quickly and bring justice to the victims.

Zoe Sawyer took a sip of water and sat for a moment to recover her energy before calling Heath Hale to ask about their progress and see how she could help.

Heath Hale had just stepped out of the interrogation room. He glanced back at Ms. Yorke, who looked completely broken inside, then at the notebook in his hand. "Is everything handled on Evan’s end?" he asked.

"More or less. We got a positive ID on the boss and found a potential person of interest we might be able to turn. But we don’t know the full situation yet, so we’ll need to keep an eye on them.

Evan doesn’t need my help for the time being, so I figured I’d see how things are going on your end," Zoe Sawyer explained, briefly updating Heath Hale on the situation.

"In that case, Zoe, can you help Hayden and her team pinpoint the locations of the operatives along that route? A team has already been dispatched," Heath Hale said after a moment of thought.

Things were going well on Sean Hughes’s end. The local thugs, hoping for reduced sentences, had confessed everything they knew.

As for Ms. Yorke, once she heard that they had already busted all of the Yorke Family’s small casinos, figured out the route they had operated for years, and learned that her own father had decided to abandon her to focus on grooming his two grandsons, she completely deflated. She answered every question they asked.

When she didn’t know something, she even gave up the two men who had come to pick her up.

They were Boss Yorke’s most trusted men, responsible for all domestic operations. They handled many of the tasks that Gary Dawson and his wife weren’t privy to.

Heath Hale had just finished extracting everything Ms. Yorke knew. For the things she truly didn’t know, he was preparing to interrogate the other two.

After the two coordinated and confirmed their plan, Zoe Sawyer contacted Hayden Shaw. Once she had Hayden’s current location, Zoe quickly gripped the doorknob and began pinpointing the suspects’ positions.

The two teams then coordinated their efforts, joining forces with police departments in the jurisdictions along the route. Over the next three days, they captured the entire group in one fell swoop.

Worried that they might have missed someone, Zoe Sawyer used the captured individuals to retrace events countless times. Only after confirming that no one had slipped through the net did she finally stand down.

During those three days, the others hadn’t been idle. Evan Keller and the remaining team members interrogated the captured gang leaders in shifts.

Meanwhile, Sean Hughes’s team not only rescued the trafficking victims but also managed to catch several human traffickers and fugitives who were hiding out in the mountains.

Heath Hale and Hayden Shaw not only made the arrests but also pried a considerable amount of information out of them.

"Finally, it’s over!"
