Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Just Capture Everyone from the Yorke Family

Noticing Sean Hughes’s increasingly grim expression, Gary Dawson, for once, felt a pang of conscience and said something to him.

In their line of work, they’d seen all sorts of things.

But Gary Dawson was getting excited, so he paid no mind to the looks on Sean Hughes’s and the others’ faces as he laid bare everything he knew about Boss Yorke.

"As for selling the powder, that’s even simpler. They have a van specifically for transporting stray cats and dogs. They stuff the goods inside them and then ship them out.

Once they reach the destination, they kill the strays and take the stuff out of their stomachs. But this method is easy to expose, so Boss Yorke didn’t use it often.

But every time he did, the profits were enormous." As he said this, Gary Dawson couldn’t help but rub his fingers together.

The first time he ran into a situation like this, his cut was a huge sum of money that he couldn’t even spend in over a month of splurging.

You can imagine Boss Yorke’s take was much, much larger.

As for the Yorke Family’s legitimate businesses and shops, they were just a way to launder the money.

"We’ve also uncovered a lot about the route you mentioned. We have a few suspects here; help me identify them." Sean Hughes passed the files in his hand to Gary Dawson. Besides the sketches drawn based on the children’s descriptions, he had also mixed in a few decoys to test him.

Although what he’d just said sounded fine, Sean still had to make sure Gary Dawson wasn’t holding anything back.

Looking at the portraits and files placed in front of him, Gary Dawson was shocked.

’He knew these cops were competent, but how long has it been? Not even a full day has passed since my arrest, and they’ve already figured out the general route?’

Gary Dawson broke out in a cold sweat. Any lingering thoughts of trying to fool them vanished completely.

"I’ve seen these few before, but not on the route you have. They were probably transferred later," Gary Dawson said, pointing out several of them.

Then, Gary Dawson looked at the pile of files before him with some hesitation before pointing out a few more people. "The others I’ve seen, more or less, in previous videos or photos. But these ones... I don’t recognize them at all. They must be new."

Sean Hughes looked at the ones he pointed out—they were the very decoys Sean had mixed in.

It seemed that on this point, Gary Dawson wasn’t lying.

Since he had already given up the most important route, Gary Dawson had no reason to hide anything else. He told Sean Hughes the locations of all the small casinos he knew, where the ledgers were hidden, and even where the Yorke Family had accidentally killed someone while fighting for resources and covered it up as a disappearance.

The keyboard of the police officer in charge of taking notes in the interrogation room was practically smoking as he struggled to keep up with Gary Dawson’s speaking speed.

"That’s pretty much all I know." After Gary Dawson spilled everything he knew in one breath, Sean Hughes handed him a glass of water at the perfect moment so he could wet his throat.

Gary Dawson downed the water in one gulp, then grinned with manic excitement. "She said I was a snitch, didn’t she? Fine, then I’ll be a real snitch and tell you every last ’good deed’ her family has ever done!"

"What about the children? Did you two have kids abroad?" Sean Hughes asked.

Gary Dawson nodded nonchalantly. "Yeah, born abroad, foreign citizenship. Boss Yorke felt that business in the country was getting difficult. After our first child was born, he moved most of his assets overseas, hoping to make a comeback there.

The things left in the country were all the shady stuff that couldn’t see the light of day. But I heard Ms. Yorke mention before that they were trying to latch onto some big shot and get a piece of the action over in Coralia.

But that female boss wasn’t so easily impressed. Boss Yorke converted most of his family assets into supplies she needed, trying to use it as a pledge of allegiance. But she took the goods and still didn’t think he was worthy. I heard she even had him beaten up."

At this, Gary Dawson couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

The thought of his father-in-law—the man who treated him like a dog and looked down on him in every word and action—bowing and scraping before a woman even younger than himself was incredibly satisfying to Gary Dawson.

Hearing the words "female boss," Sean Hughes’s heart skipped a beat, and he unconsciously tightened his grip on his pen.

But he showed no sign of it on his face. Instead, he feigned surprise as if hearing this for the first time. "Something like that happened? Isn’t that just a thankless effort?"

Perhaps Sean Hughes’s surprise pleased Gary Dawson, because his smile grew even wider after hearing his words. "He probably thought he could make a killing abroad too, but he ended up hitting a wall at every turn. In the end, he wanted to find a backer to start raking in money again. He never expected someone to take his stuff and still look down on him."

Boss Yorke suffered a huge loss. Making money abroad wasn’t as easy as he’d imagined.

Even his initial success was just the local gangs giving him a little taste. Once he had transferred most of his assets over, they started making trouble for him and moved in for the kill.

"Originally, even though the domestic operations weren’t as profitable as what he’d moved overseas, they were still enough to ensure his family could live worry-free, continuing their lavish lifestyle.

But then you cops caught on. He had no choice but to urgently cut off all contact, hoping to sacrifice the tail to save his own skin," Gary Dawson said with a shrug.

As long as the police didn’t find that route and wipe it out in one go, he would still have the capital to start over.

The small casinos are flexible. All he’d have to do is post more lookouts on the streets to report anything unusual, and it wouldn’t be so easy for the police to catch anyone.

Over time, he’d save up enough capital for a comeback.

’Too bad for them. Their brilliant plan is never going to happen!’

Gary Dawson thought about the files in Sean Hughes’s hands and felt a surge of glee.

’Since they all look down on me, I’ll just destroy everything!’

After getting a clear picture of the situation, Sean Hughes looked at the interrogation record on the screen and nodded in satisfaction.

’What an unexpected bonus.’

"You’ve worked hard. If we have any more questions, we’ll come find you. As long as you cooperate with the police interrogation and investigation, the judge will take your contributions into consideration and reduce your sentence accordingly at the time of sentencing," Sean Hughes said, standing up and looking at Gary Dawson, who was sitting across from him.

Even if they chose to stay tight-lipped, the police could still figure out the hidden routes and various addresses with Zoe Sawyer’s help, but it would inevitably take much longer.

They would miss many valuable opportunities in the meantime.

Therefore, getting the relevant clues from the suspects themselves was the best-case scenario!

Gary Dawson leaned back in his chair, his face more relaxed than ever before. After hearing Sean Hughes’s words, he waved his hand dismissively.

"Whatever. Just make sure you catch everyone in the Yorke Family!"
