“Mm, okay. Once you go to your meeting, I’ll go take a nap.”

“Jared, Leon Rivers suddenly rushed in. “Have you seen the news?”

“Something happened?”

Leon tapped a few words on the computer and casually opened a news article. Melody Thorne curiously craned her neck to look; the text and pictures on it were all about a painting.

It said that a treasure map was hidden in that painting, and as long as you found it, you could locate the inheritance of a famous painter. Rumor had it that this mid-20th-century painter’s wealth alone could pile up into a mountain.

“This is total bullshit.” Melody slipped and cursed without thinking.

Jared Quinn “…”

He glanced over at her with a warning look. Do you even know what “bullshit” means?

“I mean they’re just talking nonsense.” Melody quickly corrected herself. That thing was clearly a weapons development blueprint.

“That’s not the important part. The important part is I think someone is deliberately leaking this. He must also be looking for this painting, but he has no leads, so he put it online hoping to use the masses to help him find it!”

“Could it be those people who broke into the Quinn Family’s abandoned castle last time?” Melody propped her chin on one hand.

“No idea. But now that everyone knows this painting exists, there’ll definitely be a lot of people looking for it, so we have to at least look like we’re being proactive too, secretly send people out to search, that way we can cover up the fact that the Quinn Family used to have this painting!”

Jared pinched the bridge of his nose. From what he knew back then, the meaning hidden in this painting was not that simple!

“Tell our people to really dig for it,” Jared said. “Even if we don’t look for it, others will. So we might as well find the other three as well!”

Leon’s eyes lit up and he rubbed his hands. “I was thinking the same thing!”

“Then go.”

Melody went to Jared’s office to take a short nap, and after his meeting, the two of them left Quinn Corporation.

“Wait here for me a bit, I’ll go pull the car around.”

“Okay.” Melody stood by the entrance waiting.

Suddenly, someone shot out from behind her and clamped a hand over her mouth!

Nina King dragged her to the side and immediately let go.

“Nina, what the hell are you doing? You scared the life out of me in broad daylight.” Melody put a hand over her chest. She’d thought that Han Shan, the woman who’d threatened her before, had suddenly jumped out to kidnap her.

“You’re one to talk. How many days has it been since you last came to the company?” Just bringing it up made Nina mad. “Fine, you don’t come to the company, whatever. But you even blocked my number. Are you just scared the company might actually need something from you?”

Melody “…I did not!”

Heaven and earth as witnesses, she really didn’t!

“Didn’t? No way.” Nina took out her phone and dialed Melody’s number right in front of her. It wouldn’t connect; when it did connect, it got hung up automatically.

Melody “…”

“Take out your phone.”

Melody took out her phone, and in the blacklist she found Nina’s number!

“And you say you didn’t. The company’s yours. You not managing it is one thing, but you even blocked me. I quit. If the boss doesn’t even want to be the boss, what am I still doing there?”

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jared driving the car over in their direction, and she roughly figured it out!

“Just hold on, hold on, I already know who did it. You go back to the company first. I swear I’ll never block your number again.”
