My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 1063 - 1606
"Huh? What exactly did I promise to give them? Ask them if they’re dreaming." Melody Thorne let out a cold laugh.
These two really have zero ambition.
"Tell them to stay far away from the Quinn Family. If they dare to mess with me, I’ll have Commander Hawthorne’s troops wipe them out. They’d better behave themselves."
"Yes."
"Ugh." Melody Thorne dropped onto the sofa, fuming.
That Councilor Gu had better not fall into her hands, or she’d make him suffer.
Jared Quinn’s large hand gently rubbed her back. His gaze swept over Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman. "Have everyone keep a close eye, but don’t make a big scene trying to find him. Give him the chance to settle somewhere."
"Alright."
Leon Rivers and Harold Chapman left. Jared Quinn picked up the little woman in his arms and carried her upstairs, placing her on the big bed. "Want to sleep for a bit?"
"I can’t sleep. I want to strangle that Councilor Gu." Melody Thorne vented by stomping hard on the quilt a few times.
How could she have been so stupid and not realized that Councilor Gu was this cunning?
"If he didn’t even have that much scheming in him, how could he have climbed to that position?" Jared Quinn lay down, pulling her into his arms.
Melody Thorne slipped off her clothes, pressed her head against Jared Quinn’s chest, and rubbed her small face lightly against him twice. "But I’m still mad."
"Want to get some exercise?" Jared Quinn’s long fingers stroked along her slender waist.
"Sure." Melody Thorne hooked her arms around Jared Quinn’s neck.
She really wanted to vent properly.
Jared Quinn didn’t move at first. His arm wrapped around her waist, lifting her body so she straddled him. "Let’s see if your stamina has improved these days."
Melody Thorne: "..."
The bedroom filled with ragged breaths...
Morning.
Melody Thorne went downstairs. Madam sila was already up and looked in pretty good spirits.
"Melody, come on, come on, breakfast’s ready. These past few days I specially learned how to make this from people in Crestfall. Come taste it and see if it’s any good."
"Mom, did you have any symptoms last night?" Melody Thorne was a bit worried.
After all, right now none of them could tell when Madam sila’s illness would flare up.
"No symptoms. Look, aren’t I fine right now?" sila chuckled lightly. "Oh right, when is Mom going to meet Mrs. Quinn? Every time we call over there, it’s Old Master Quinn who picks up. This time I came for two reasons: one, I was afraid you’d be too busy before the wedding; two, I’m worried Mrs. Quinn has never shown her face, and it’s us making all the decisions about your wedding. I’m afraid she’ll have opinions, so we should arrange a time to meet."
The butler quietly turned his head to the side.
Melody Thorne glanced at Jared Quinn. Ever since Mrs. Quinn had framed her last time, she hadn’t seen Mrs. Quinn again—and sila didn’t know about that incident.
"Mom, Mrs. Quinn was hospitalized a few days ago and she’s not in great health. In a few days I’ll have Jared go visit her."
"Alright, alright."
After breakfast, Melody Thorne kept worrying Madam sila might suddenly have an episode, so she had to quickly think of a way to get the antidote from Councilor Gu.
"Mom, how about we go out shopping later?" Melody Thorne suggested.
Councilor Gu definitely thought they were frantically searching for him right now. If at this moment she took Madam sila out shopping like nothing had happened, he’d be sure Leon Rivers and the others had a way to save her. Then he’d be the one getting anxious.
"Sure, that’s exactly what I had in mind. Let’s go to a jewelry store and see if there’s anything you like that you can wear at the wedding."
"Okay."
