Chapter 1029 - 1032: Growing Attached

Hastily putting on clothes, "Where’s Jared? Where did he go?"

"Mr. Jiang said there was something going on, so Jared left for there early," the butler said.

The gaze swept over the woman’s face — gotta admit, she really looks like her!

Last night, he didn’t notice at all. It seems the Quinn Family should install an alarm system. How can this be right?

"He’s already gone out?" The woman clenched her hand. Wasn’t Jared Quinn supposed to be deeply in love with Melody Thorne? Why does it seem so cold to her?

"Yes, Madam, would you like to have breakfast?" the butler asked respectfully.

"No, Congressman Gu wants me back this morning, so I’m leaving now!" The woman’s figure hastily left the villa!

The butler straightened up and glanced toward the stairs. Jared Quinn was standing at the door of the third-floor guest room, having seen everything clearly.

"When will my mommy be back?" Timmy pouted. The real one isn’t back, but a fake one has shown up.

"Soon. Once that woman leaves, Madam should be able to return," the butler reassured him.

"Alright then."

Once out, the woman hurried to Congresswoman Gu’s place, tearing off a thin mask from her face, revealing an appearance somewhat similar to Melody Thorne’s despite different features.

"Congressman Gu, I’ve checked, and there is no dispatch order found. Moreover, we’ve been deceived by Wallace Hawthorne. He, too, has been looking for the order, and his searches focus on secret chambers previously established by Weston Hawthorne of the Hawthorne Family!"

"So, it seems the order isn’t actually with Melody Thorne?" Congressman Gu tapped his fingers on the desk.

"Congressman, Jared called, saying Melody Thorne has been here for three days now and must return today!"

"Tell him, I’ll personally send Mrs. Quinn back and reassure him!"

"Yes!"

Melody Thorne and Jenson Ona sat on the sofa while Congressman Gu prepared many gifts.

"Miss Thorne, if there were any shortcomings in hospitality these past days, please forgive us. I misunderstood you earlier," Congressman Gu spoke very politely.

Melody Thorne crossed her legs, not intending to leave, "Congressman, I find this place quite charming — it’s quiet and safe. I tend to grow attached quickly, and now suddenly, I don’t want to leave!"

"Yes, my master finds this place good, and so do I!"

Congressman Gu: "...Jared called saying you must return today. I wish I could keep Miss Thorne here longer, but this is, after all, a military facility..."

"It’s fine, just carry on with your business, don’t mind us!"

Congressman Gu: "...Miss Thorne, it’s best you return. This place isn’t suitable for outsiders to stay indefinitely, and moreover, I’ve verified that you indeed have nothing to do with the dispatch order. No one will bother you about it anymore!"

"No, I’m too attached to this house!"

Congressman Gu: "..."

He somewhat regretted not investigating thoroughly before inviting Melody Thorne over in the first place!

"How about this, I’ve stayed here two days already, and we’ve become friends, Congressman. Would you agree to let me come back occasionally for a stay?"

Congressman Gu pondered for a moment since the priority was to get Melody Thorne to leave, "Okay."

Melody Thorne contentedly left with Jenson Ona.

Melody Thorne returned and didn’t do anything, pulling Jared Quinn directly into the bedroom, closing the door with urgency. Her hands quickly unbuttoned his shirt, intent on seeing his chest, humming, "Jared Quinn, has a woman looking exactly like me come to seduce you? Tell me, did anything happen between you two?"
