Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Rei Lawless Can’t Stop Kissing Me

"What do the points do again?"

[Succubus Points may be allocated to upgrade existing skills or to purchase additional roulette tickets from the System Shop.]

I stopped on the platform.

"I can buy roulettes? You should have led with that."

[Opening System Shop.]

>System Shop

Bronze Roulette — 500 SP

Silver Roulette — 1,500 SP

Gold Roulette — 10,000 SP

I checked my balance.

[Current Succubus Points: 750]

"Finally. Buy a Bronze Roulette."

[Purchasing Bronze Roulette — 500 SP]

[Remaining SP: 250]

[Bronze Roulette acquired. Open now?]

"Open it. I need something my body does, not another chain. Mobility for a dungeon. You choose the skill, right? Give me something good, or I’m gonna scold you in another voice."

The wheel spun once, clean, no fake-out, and locked.

[Active Skill Acquired: Fracture Step (Lv. 1)]

Fracture Step (Lv. 1)

Short-range kinetic burst.

Host displaces up to five meters along a chosen vector in a single frame, leaving an after-image that can draw one low-tier attack.

Cooldown: 8 seconds.

Mana cost: 12.

The knowledge settled into my legs like a memory I had always almost had.

Not teleportation.

A vicious, compressed step that broke normal acceleration for a fraction of a second and put me somewhere else before most eyes could track the exit.

"Good. Now upgrade Submission."

[Submission Chains Lv. 1 → Lv. 2 — 50 SP]

[Remaining SP: 200]

Changes:

• Formation speed increased

• Simultaneous chain count +1

• Binding tension scales lightly with Host Strength

• Residual tracking on bound targets lasts 3 seconds after dismissal

"Last one. Pheromone Trace."

[Confirm upgrade: Pheromone Trace Lv. 1 → Lv. 2 — 50 SP]

[Warning: Expanded passive radius. Increased attention bias on latent-compatible targets. Effect stacks with Charm.]

"I have to find candidates. You wouldn’t give me a list. Let me work."

[...]

"It’s not like that. It’s... to make them curious."

[Pheromone Trace Lv. 2 acquired.]

[Remaining SP: 150]

[Upgrade complete. Host prioritized mobility, binding utility, and candidate-attraction coverage.]

I closed the interface.

Fracture Step sat in my legs. The chains felt sharper. The air around me already carried a quieter gravity from the upgraded trace. Tools, not a safety cushion.

I walked into the guild.

Mira stood near the main intake desk with a tablet.

When she saw me, she only raised one thumb in a dry, knowing arc; Jenna had clearly forwarded overnight residual logs from a private session Mira was not supposed to have full notes on.

I laughed under my breath, awkward, and kept moving before she could add commentary.

Rei was already there in the room: half-covered black tank top, dark training pants, hair in a single braid.

She turned as the door sealed, and stopped.

Her eyes moved over me in a slow, open pass.

Height. Frame.

The way I occupied the doorway after the physical reconstruction. Then her gaze locked on my face, and something hungry sharpened behind her expression.

"You’re different," she said.

"I leveled. Physical reconstruction caught up overnight."

"You’re telling me that without hiding?"

"No reason to hide."

Rei pushed off the wall and walked a circle around me without asking permission, close enough that the upgraded Pheromone Trace had nowhere to go but across her senses.

She inhaled once, deliberately, and the corner of her mouth curved.

"Smell’s heavier. Posture’s heavier. You walked in like the room already belonged to you."

She completed the circle and stopped in front of me.

"Jenna’s overnight session agreed with you."

"How do you know that?"

"I got connections."

"It was regulation training."

"Call it whatever you need."

Rei’s eyes flicked to the bracelet, then back to my face.

"Output feels cleaner. Less noise in the residual. That should make this more interesting."

I dropped my bag at the edge of the mat and rolled my shoulders, Fracture Step coiled and ready in the background of every movement.

"Same rules as yesterday?"

"No."

She formed a blood edge along her index finger and watched it catch the light.

"Yesterday I was testing whether you could stand proximity without folding. Today I want to see what you do when I stop being careful with you. New height, new output, new whatever that scent is doing to the air, don’t waste it by fighting small."

"And if the bracelet trips?"

"Then we learn where the new ceiling actually sits instead of guessing from logs."

Rei stepped onto the center of the mat and tilted her head, braid sliding across one shoulder.

"You look like someone who finally stopped arguing with himself, Revien. Don’t disappoint me by fighting small."

I formed a single chain, felt the Lv. 2 responsiveness snap into place faster than before, and let Fracture Step idle in my calves like a held breath.

"Try to keep up," I said.

Rei’s smile went sharp and genuine.

"There’s the version I wanted."

Rei came in fast and low, blood edge already formed along the side of her hand.

Yesterday that opening would have forced me to give ground and reset.

Today I didn’t bother meeting it.

Fracture Step tore the distance sideways.

Swoosh.

One compressed frame of broken acceleration and I was five meters off her forward line, after-image still standing where I had been.

The blood edge cut through empty air and light.

Before she could recover the angle, I had a Lv. 2 chain around her lead ankle and a second already snapping toward her wrist.

"Wha-?"

Rei twisted, severed the ankle bind with a burst of condensed blood, and flung the spray toward my face to buy a blink of blindness.

I stepped through it, literally stepped, Fracture Step again the moment the cooldown edged off, and appeared behind her left shoulder.

The third chain took her upper arm. The fourth locked across her hips hard enough to stall her next turn.

"You’re faster."

"You’re predictable."

She laughed once, and detonated the blood along her captured arm to force the chain to dissolve.

The spray painted a wet arc across the mat.

I didn’t follow the blood. I followed her center of mass, cut the angle with another short Fracture Step, and put a binding link around both wrists the instant they crossed in front of her chest to form a larger blade.

"...You’re spamming the same move."

The construct never finished.

I yanked.

Rei stumbled forward hard.

I met her with a shoulder check that used the new density in my frame and sent her back three steps into the mirrored wall.

The glass thudded.

A second chain pinned her right forearm beside her head. A third caught the opposite wrist when she tried to cut free.

Rei bared her teeth, forced a spike of blood out of her pinned palm, and drove it toward the gap under my ribs.

I felt its path, shifted half a step, and let the spike pass through the edge of my shirt instead of my skin.

The return motion put my forearm across her collarbones, not crushing, just pinning, while the chains kept her hands high and useless.

"Yield," I said.

"Make me."

Rei did the one thing the sparring data said still worked on me in close quarters.

She kissed me.
