Chapter 1109: Chapter 620: I’m a Righteous Path Cultivator, with Official Proof!_2
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Hehe, looks like you did something really awful to that girl, Claude." Alice said with a grin. "Need my help? I’m actually super strong, you know!"
Alice’s smile seemed to carry a natural kind of infectious power, instantly washing away all the rotten emotions clogging Shen Sui’s heart.
Maybe Alice really could help him.
But the moment he thought of what Alice had done before... for some reason, Shen Sui’s mood got even worse.
Can this guy actually be trusted?
But no matter what, Alice’s trip to the cultivation world this time was definitely happening. Some things, you just can’t hide from.
As the only one in the family who’d actually been to the cultivation world in reality, Vivian prepared a full set of gear for Alice.
Staring at the treasures overflowing with Immortal Aura laid out across the table, Shen Sui asked in puzzlement, "You can even forge treasures like these?"
Vivian rolled her eyes at Shen Sui. "Otherwise how do you think I survived over there? Magic items over there only count as curiosities at best, nowhere near high-value artifacts."
As she spoke, Vivian took out a pink gauzy long dress and started dressing Alice up.
The cultivation world—powerful and conservative.
Weird outfits get you treated as some demonic weirdo and attacked on sight.
"The cultivation world is insanely dangerous. Don’t trust anyone’s words lightly, especially those from the Demon Path. They tend to act even more friendly and righteous than the Righteous Path cultivators. You have to tell them apart properly and don’t pick up bad habits."
While straightening Alice’s collar, Vivian kept nagging on and on.
"Relax. I’ll just roast them with Fire first to see if they’re good people or not!" Alice said confidently.
Don’t do weird stuff like that! That kind of behavior does not belong in a normal cultivation world!
Also... why does this scene look so much like a mom sending her daughter off to study in another city? Might as well pack her some local specialties while you’re at it.
"These are gifts for Zhou’Er." Just as Shen Sui was thinking that, Vivian fished out a small silver jar from her pocket, stuffed it into Alice’s ring, and said, "Some specialties from the Dawn Continent and from here. I promised I’d bring her some."
"..." You actually do have that, huh.
Shen Sui sat off to the side, utterly unable to even complain at this point.
Still, in this kind of warm atmosphere, his worries about Alice heading to the cultivation world faded a lot.
Girl changing clothes—Shen Sui couldn’t exactly jump in, so he squatted off to the side and fiddled with the array of treasures Vivian had prepared for Alice.
He picked up a white jade bottle and opened it to see dozens of Elixirs inside, each etched with beautiful patterns, emitting a faint elegant fragrance. The lines looked like flame patterns.
As Shen Sui thought, he poured one out and held it up, examining it closely.
But after staring for a long time, he still couldn’t figure out what kind of Elixir it was.
"Careful. If you trigger it, everything in here is going to be toast." Vivian noticed Shen Sui’s actions and spoke up to warn him.
Shen Sui asked, "What kind of Elixir is this?"
"It’s a Fixed Spell disguised as an Elixir." Vivian explained. "I recorded Alice’s Nuclear Explosion Fireball into it and made it look like this."
As she spoke, Vivian turned to Alice and said, "I already taught you how to use it."
"Mm-hm!" Alice nodded hard, like she was about to drill through the floor.
Shen Sui got a scare and almost tossed the thing in his hand. Then he thought about it—he wasn’t scared of this stuff anyway—and calmed back down.
Obviously, most of the treasures Vivian prepared for Alice were of this kind of attribute.
Rather than making life-saving items to help Alice survive, Vivian believed far more in the philosophy that completely obliterating the enemy was the best guarantee of one’s own safety.
Staring at this pile of lethal weapons that would soon end up in Alice’s hands, Shen Sui started suspecting that what he should be worried about wasn’t Alice’s safety, but the safety of the entire cultivation world.
Compared to Vivian, who was fairly familiar with the cultivation world, Freymia and the others couldn’t provide Alice with much material support. But as entities that could be summoned from Alice’s Treasure Card Magic Guidebook, they could personally drop into the field to help Alice handle trouble when the time came.
Of course, the prerequisite was that Alice first used Dawn’s power to solve the problem of incompatible power systems—which, for Alice, was relatively easy.
On Alice’s side, the preparation was pretty much done.
Shen Sui pulled out his phone and contacted Tan Song, intending to get a read on the cultivation world’s situation in recent times.
Tan Song picked up Shen Sui’s call in seconds.
"Boss, I’ve finally been waiting for your call."
Shen Sui instinctively glanced at the note attached to the number, confirmed it was Tan Song, and wondered why his seniority had suddenly jumped up a generation for no reason. He asked, "What’s going on?"
"That one sentence of yours pretty much threw the entire cultivation world into chaos." Tan Song said helplessly. "It’s completely gone off the rails now. Immortal Sects are getting wiped out every single day."
"Because of the Life Card Masters fighting?" Shen Sui frowned. If that was the case, he really did bear some responsibility.
"We can only be considered the fuse. At the root, there were already massive contradictions within the cultivators themselves. Even in the cultivation world, resources are limited." Tan Song said. "Otherwise, there wouldn’t have been Demonic Cultivators eyeing our world in the first place."
This whole mess might have been sparked by the Life Card Masters, but by now it was completely out of their control.
According to Tan Song, the Exploration Bureau had actually intervened right away, trying to stabilize the situation in the cultivation world, but it clearly hadn’t done much. Battles between Extraordinary people were even more uncontrollable than modern warfare.
"What about those Great Powers? They’re just going to sit and watch?"
Tan Song gave a bitter smile. "They’re the ones pulling the strings from behind the scenes, of course they’re just watching. Every one of them thinks they’re some old fisherman on the Fishing Platform, and as long as the mess doesn’t land directly on their heads, they won’t lift a finger. And they’ve been annoyed with our sect for ages now. They say we’re always mediating in the middle and blocking their sects’ expansion. Now we’re the target everyone’s taking shots at. MD, my head really hurts."
"Even if everyone’s unhappy with you and wants to gang up, they still need an excuse, right?" Shen Sui was confused. "Does your sect have some kind of dirt they can all rally around?"
"Yeah, we do. Ready-made, in fact." Tan Song said.
"Ready-made?"
"They’re saying the one the Immortal Venerable loves is actually the super Demon Venerable who wreaked havoc among mortals back then, an utterly depraved Demon. That everything our sect has now—status and resources alike—was all gained by leaning on that Demon. And that now it’s time for a reckoning, we should cough up all the resources we looted from the major sects back then."
"???" Shen Sui’s mind was full of question marks. "Demon?"
What the hell, how did I suddenly become a Demon?
Sure, I’ve killed people to snatch treasures, played with married women, robbed Cultivation Techniques, and occupied secret realms, but I am absolutely a proper, respectable Righteous Path sect disciple, okay!
My entire cultivation was built up through my own skill. How the hell does that make me some super Demon Venerable!
The more Shen Sui thought about it, the angrier he got, itching to pull up the game interface and slap screenshots right onto their faces.
His status panel clearly had the words "Righteous Path" written on it!
Granted, he’d only gotten that Righteous Path alignment by adopting a huge number of widows and orphans, and granted, they only became widows because he’d killed their husbands—but hey, just answer me this: am I "Righteous Path" or not!
Doesn’t matter who shows up today, I am goddamned a Righteous Path cultivator!
That alignment comes with official certification.
And these people dare to smear him as an utterly depraved Demon? Completely ridiculous.
Honestly, being called a Demon wasn’t that big a deal; he felt he’d gone way overboard himself anyway. But using that as an excuse to suppress Ye Zhou’Er—that was something he couldn’t stand.
Fine, fine, so I’m a Demon, huh.
Then I’ll come over in person. Since you all hate and resent me so much, you should be thrilled to take action and eliminate the scourge, right?
If you’ve got guts, come hit me!
What? You’re saying I’m not allowed to hit back?
Since when is there a rule that you can’t hit back when you’re getting beaten?
Thinking this, Shen Sui shot to his feet and shouted toward Alice not far away, "Alice!"
"Here!" Already fully prepared, Alice shot up her hand, eager and ready to go.
"We’re setting off."
