Chapter 238: A New Presence

Both powerhouses immediately moved. They understood the gravity of the situation better than anyone.

Even though Vaorak himself was an Emperor, he was still weaker than Caelan. In this world, titles and positions existed only to maintain balance — in the end, strength was the only true law.

Soon, with the help of the two powerful Sovereigns, the large-scale formation covering the entire capital was completed.

No one from the Eclipse Order side tried to stop it — not while Caelan stood there. One wrong move would mean instant death.

Surprisingly, Kharos simply allowed the formation to be finished. Once it was in place, even Sovereigns could freely take action without risking the destruction of half the kingdom in the aftermath.

Draeven, Vaorak, and Lyra soon took their positions beside Caelan. Albert, Ron, and many other Twilight Order commanders and elite members — all at the Emperor Realm — joined them as well.

Though their numbers only reached around sixty, it was still the largest gathering of Emperor Realm powerhouses assembled solely for the security of the tournament. Now, an even greater threat had appeared.

Yet with two additional Sovereigns on their side, the human forces did not feel overly concerned. Kharos and Zeon appeared to stand alone, which prompted Draeven to mock them openly.

"You bastards only brought two Sovereigns and still dared to attack in our presence? Hahahaha!"

Kharos’s smile only widened.

"Although I alone would be more than enough for you maggots... I also brought two more companions."

Draeven and the others raised their eyebrows. In the next moment, two additional figures appeared in the sky, shocking everyone present.

One of them, however, drew far more attention than the other — especially when her melodious, beautiful voice rang out.

"Sigh... Kharos, you really dragged me here. Look at how many powerful forces they have. What if I die?"There she stood — as sinful as ever, the living embodiment of lust.

Her long pink hair flowed freely in the air. Her intoxicating beauty and natural allure were so overwhelming that the throats of nearly every man across the continent watching the broadcast went dry.

Her massive chest swayed gently as she pouted mid-air. She wore her usual revealing pink dress that left large portions of her smooth skin exposed, and even while pouting, a sultry smile lingered on her lips.

Elaris immediately stole the attention of nearly everyone. Almost no one paid any mind to the other Sovereign standing beside her.

That man was wrapped in a full white cloak similar to Zeon’s. He also possessed two dragon horns, yet his appearance was clearly that of a dragon-demon hybrid.

He wore no mask, revealing a fierce, scaled face twisted in permanent anger.

"This is your punishment for sneaking into my kingdom while I was away," Kharos said coldly. "Now you have to stay here whether you want to or not."

"But I’m still searching for my darling...." Elaris replied, deliberately shaking her body so that her ample assets bounced. She did it on purpose, and many men with weak willpower immediately fell under her charm.

Caelan waved his hand. A pure radiance spread across the human forces, instantly clearing their minds.

"Oh my... if it isn’t Caelan," Elaris purred. "You look as handsome as ever. Unfortunately, I’ve already met a man who is even more handsome than you."

Caelan’s golden eyes locked onto her.

"So you’ve decided to act together with him as well. I must say... you demon lords must have planned this all along."

"I don’t know what you mean," Elaris replied lightly, pointing a delicate finger at Kharos. "I only came because this guy dragged me here."

Kharos shook his head in mild defeat before speaking again.

"Oh, I forgot to mention, Elaris... the one you’re searching for — what was his name again? Ah, yes... ’Nova’ — is currently here in the Eastern Kingdom of the humans... together with my daughter."

"What?! Really?!"

"Fuck!" Nova cursed under his breath the moment he heard his name. Elaris had appeared with yet another Sovereign, and she still had not given up on finding him.

Nyxara’s eyes turned bloodshot. She was barely restraining herself, only remaining still because Nova was tightly holding her hand. Her blood boiled every time that woman spoke her husband’s name so casually.

"What do we do, Lord Nova? Your name is out," Velena whispered with a hint of worry.

"Don’t worry," Nova replied calmly. "Let things play out for now. Then I’ll decide whether I actually need to be concerned."

Vaorak and the others exchanged glances. Had they heard correctly? Had Demon Lord Kharos just said the name "Nova"?

Elaris’s face lit up with pure delight.

"Oh, how wonderful! My darling Nova is here! I’m going to find him right now—"She was about to move when Kharos’s voice cut through the air.

"No. Wait. You will complete your punishment first."

A fraction of his aura leaked out. Nearly everyone present shuddered in fear — everyone except the other Sovereigns.

"Sigh... alright, you win," Elaris said with a dejected pout. She knew she could not win against Kharos. Lyra’s sharp voice suddenly rang out.

"Hey, you bitch... did you just say the name Nova?"

"How rude," Elaris pouted at the insult.

"You should learn some manners from your mother, little girl. Didn’t mommy teach you anything? And yes, I said Nova. Do you know something about my darling?"

Lyra rolled her eyes. If that woman wasn’t a bitch, then what was she? Ignoring the nonsense, she focused on confirming the impossible-sounding doubt that had formed in her mind.

"Is he a demon... or a human?"

"What kind of question is that, little girl?" Elaris asked cutely.

Even Kharos and the others looked confused by the question. Why would Lyra ask something like that? Caelan also frowned slightly, while Vaorak, Draeven, and the other Emperors present clearly wanted to hear the answer as well.

Elaris smiled sweetly.

"Of course my darling is a demon. In fact, he is a demon with a royal bloodline... and he is very handsome."

Lyra and the others quietly exhaled in relief. Nova, Velena, and Nyxara did the same. Nova would not have cared even if the truth came out, but compared to the true monsters standing in the sky right now, he was still far too weak.

Still... enough was enough.

Maria was still in Darius’s clutches.

It was time to save her first — and then let the entire kingdom witness the true might of the Slaughter Monarch.

Nova turned toward Nyxara and gently caressed her cheek. The simple affectionate touch caused her boiling anger to subside little by little.

"My lovely wife... it’s time to act."

He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss. Instantly, Nyxara’s remaining fury melted away. She truly had a fierce temper — something Velena was well aware of — but Nova always knew exactly how to calm his demon wife.

Afterward, he quietly explained his plan to both Nyxara and Velena. The three of them prepared to move.

In the sky, Kharos looked at Caelan with a mocking smile."Are you certain that you people will be enough against us?"

Caelan’s golden eyes remained cold.

"Hmph. We’ll see about that. But I didn’t know you had turned into such a coward after all this time... taking a little girl as a hostage."

Kharos shrugged lightly.

"Oh, that wasn’t my plan. These guys went a little too far. I’m sorry about that... though it did succeed in bringing you out much sooner than expected."

"You bastard. I came here because I sensed your presence," Caelan replied sharply. "Now release my granddaught—!"

Before Caelan could finish his words, a spatial rift suddenly tore open in the sky.

An immense demonic pressure immediately crashed down upon everyone present — including Caelan and Kharos.

Except for the two absolute existences themselves, nearly every other being felt as though they would die from the slightest movement.

Such was the overwhelming pressure of the man who stepped out of the spatial rift. The entire continent witnessed his might through the ongoing broadcast.
