Chapter 186: He Is Still Alive
Four Emperor Realm experts hovered high in the sky, silently gazing down at the massive crater beneath them.
The land for nearly twenty kilometers had been completely devastated, still faintly radiating residual chaotic and destructive energy.
Behind them, more than a hundred King Realm experts — ranging from mid to peak stage — were scattered across the area, carefully searching for any remaining traces of the battle.
Albert, the same Emperor who had previously fought the Demon Generals and the one who had "killed" Nova, spoke first.
"Looks like a fight between two Emperors."
"Most likely," Ron replied. He was the second Emperor who had been present during the earlier battle against the Demon Generals.
The other two Emperors floated slightly behind them. Both wore the distinct uniforms of the Holy Knights — one appeared to be a Level 1 Emperor, while the other radiated the denser aura of a Level 2
Suddenly, a peak King Realm member of the Twilight Order rushed over in a panic.
"Sir! There are two strange large demonic beasts standing in front of five caged carts filled with children!"
The expressions of the four Emperors immediately sharpened.
They all immediately rushed toward the location the King Realm expert had reported.
What they saw when they arrived left them completely stunned.
Especially Albert and Ron.
Two enormous demonic beasts stood there, each roughly ten to twelve meters tall. Their bodies were formed of swirling black shadows marked with glowing purple patterns, and their eyes burned with the same eerie purple light.
One resembled a muscular giant ape. The other had a more ethereal, floating form and held a wand in its hand. Both radiated the dense aura of peak King Realm existences.
Royal guards, Holy Knights, and Twilight Order members had already surrounded the area, yet none of them dared to approach carelessly.
Behind the two creatures stood five large cages.
Inside them were numerous children and infants — all unconscious, but clearly still alive. It looked as though the two monstrous figures had been standing guard over them the entire time.
What shocked everyone even more was the message written on the ground.
The muscular ape-like figure was pointing one of its large fingers directly at the words, as if deliberately drawing attention to them.
"DO YOUR WORK PROPERLY, MOTHERFUCKERS."
The four Emperors read the message in silence.
Rage immediately surged in their hearts.
But before anyone could give the order to attack, both creatures suddenly vanished without a trace.
Albert’s expression turned extremely ugly. Ron’s face was just as dark. The other two Emperors noticed their reactions and asked,
"What is it? Do you two know something about those creatures?"
Ron looked at the Level 2 Emperor and answered in a heavy voice.
"They are undead. And not ordinary ones. The type we just saw can only be summoned by one specific man."
Albert finished the sentence with a cold voice.
"The man I already killed."
The expressions of the other two Emperors changed at once.
"What do you mean?"
Since they were now working together under the orders of their respective superiors, Albert did not hide the information.
"A few days ago, during the battle against the Demon Generals, we encountered a strange half-blood. He could summon undead. He himself was only a Grandmaster... yet he could kill King Realm experts with ease."
"Even more dangerous was his ability to turn those he killed into his own army."
"He was a half-demon, so I killed him. I made certain he died that day."
Albert’s gaze darkened as he stared at the empty space where the two creatures had stood.
"But after seeing those two figures and their auras... I can’t be mistaken. Those were his minions."
The Level 2 Emperor frowned.
"That’s impossible. You said you killed him."
Albert remained silent. Ron spoke instead, his voice low and uncertain.
"And did you notice their strength? He can now control peak King Realm undead."
"If the one who fought here is truly the same man... then in just a few days, he has already risen from Grandmaster to Emperor Realm."
"That’s impossible," Albert said immediately.
"But it’s the only logical explanation," Ron replied. Even he sounded as though he could barely believe his own words.
Just then, a royal guard approached quickly.
"Sirs, we found something."
The Emperors turned toward him.
"The children here are from a nearby village that was completely slaughtered. All the adults were killed, and the children were kidnapped."
"We also found tracks left by the carts leading from that village."
The guard then held up a torn piece of white cloth and a black mask.
"And... this."
When they saw the black mask, a sense of familiarity immediately struck them. After thinking for a moment, they realized which organization was infamous for kidnapping children... and what their true goal usually was.
"So it was the Eclipse Order..." Albert muttered, his expression turning far more serious.
Ron let out a heavy sigh.
"Those bastards have started again... Fuck. What’s going on? One thing after another is changing."
Albert’s voice was low and grim.
"Looks like the so-called peace is over. Something big is coming... and we need to be prepared for it."
The Level 1 Emperor glanced at the unconscious children still inside the cages and spoke carefully.
"Doesn’t it look like the man you mentioned earlier saved these children from them?"
Albert snorted coldly.
"Hmph. He’s a half-demon. Most likely he was working with them."
The others did not question his words. Deep-rooted hatred toward demons made the explanation easy to accept.
The Level 2 Emperor turned toward his subordinates and gave a clear order.
"Take all the children to the temple. They will be properly cared for there."
The soldiers immediately moved to carry out the command.
While everyone else focused on the children and the aftermath, Albert remained silent. His gaze stayed fixed on the massive crater in the distance.
A complicated expression crossed his face... mixed with a faint trace of fear.
On the other side, Ron gave clear orders.
"Spread an alert regarding the Eclipse Order throughout the kingdom. Send messages to the other kingdoms and the other continents as well. The most infamous organization has become active again."
"They may have already started operating in multiple regions without our knowledge. Move quickly."
"Yes, sir!"
The soldiers answered in unison and immediately dispersed to carry out the command.
Ron let out a long sigh.
"If only the Human Emperor would come out of seclusion... especially with Lady Aurora and beast-folk Emperor arriving this time."
The Level 2 Emperor nodded.
"I heard the Dragon Emperor’s younger brother is coming as well. Though... doesn’t the Dragon Emperor himself have a rather deep interest in Lady Aurora?"
Ron’s expression changed instantly.
"Shh. Do you want to die? We can’t talk about that so openly."
The Level 2 Emperor shrugged.
"Come on. No one can hear us here. Everyone in the world already knows about the interest those three Emperors have in Lady Aurora. Well... except the Phoenix Empress, since she’s a woman, and Lady Aurora’s own brother."
The Level 1 Emperor supported Ron’s caution.
"Even so, they are Emperors. We don’t even fully understand the extent of their power. It’s better not to speak carelessly about them."
"Tsk... fine," the Level 2 Emperor muttered. After a moment, a faint smile appeared on his face. "Still... I can’t wait to see her myself."
Ron chuckled lightly.
"Believe me. Neither can the rest of us."
Albert, who had remained silent until now, finally turned around with a cold expression.
"What are you idiots mumbling about? We’re leaving. Security needs to be increased even further. Tournament registrat
ion begins next week."
The other Emperors nodded.
With that, they left the ruined area together. By then, the soldiers had already taken the children away toward the temple.
