My Skills Can Evolve Infinitely in a Game-Like World

Chapter 178: Plan & Selling Relics

Aurelius already had a faint guess about what was happening when he first heard the noise downstairs.

Now, hearing the loud voices of the Players and seeing their intense gazes, full of enthusiasm and impatience, he understood everything.

"Alright. Guards, I’ll deal with this matter."

Aurelius stepped closer and gestured at the terrified guards, who seemed to have just received amnesty.

They immediately took several steps back, staring at the Players like they were lunatics.

In fact, as the guards of a noble mansion, they were quite qualified.

Not only were there Awakeners among them, but they were also experienced.

Upon seeing the crowd gathering, the guards had already taken action to disperse them, even going as far as to beat up several people as a form of threat.

Unfortunately, all these Players were mad.

Nobody cared when their companions were beaten up. They simply continued marching forward as though nothing had happened.

Even those who were hit merely rose from the ground, patted their clothes, and regained their previously excited expressions.

The guards were terrified!

They had never encountered people who could completely ignore pain like this.

Even so, upon seeing Aurelius approach the crowd, the leader couldn’t help but grab his shoulder and stop him.

"Young Lord, do you wish to call the rest of the guards? I’m afraid this is dangerous," he leaned closer and whispered.

Aurelius glanced at the guard with faint surprise.

He had never expected there to still be such loyal people in the mansion.

He could roughly recognize the man from his appearance, knowing that he had served the Sol family for more than a decade.

Unfortunately, he had never paid much attention to the other people in the mansion and didn’t even know his name.

Whether it was before he awakened his memories, when he had more "important" matters to deal with, or after his awakening, when he was constantly busy, Aurelius had never taken a second glance at these people.

It was only now that someone attracted his attention.

Aurelius raised his head.

[Sol Guard—Warrior Level 12]

Glancing at the interface above the guard, Aurelius suddenly had an idea.

Should he help a few of these guards become stronger?

After all, he was bound to leave Blood Sun City soon.

Without him to protect them, his mother and friends might be in danger.

Aurelius didn’t want to be like the protagonists in the stories, who ventured into the outside world only to have their families constantly threatened.

Before leaving, it would be best if he left some means for the Sol family and Elena to defend themselves.

The more he thought about it, the more reasonable the idea seemed.

Thinking of this, an immature plan formed in Aurelius’ mind.

However, he quickly pushed it to the back of his mind.

Now was not the time to think about this matter.

There was a far more pressing issue.

Knowing this full well, Aurelius removed the guard’s hand from his shoulder and shook his head.

"You don’t have to worry. I recently joined a club in the Academy."

"These are all my friends."

Aurelius let out a sigh.

"It’s all because I’m too capable. Look how happy they are to see me."

He shook his head and pointed at the excited Players.

The guards’ expressions became strange.

Friends? Were these really friends?

Why did they look like they were about to eat their Young Lord alive?

However, before any of them could say anything, Aurelius continued.

"Don’t worry. I’ll deal with them."

Then, he didn’t give the guards any time to react.

Not caring whether they believed his explanation or not, Aurelius hurriedly left the Sol mansion.

Then, with a single command, he ordered the Players to follow him.

Looking at the crowd that had instantly dispersed and followed Aurelius away, the guards were dumbfounded.

When did their Young Lord become so popular?

More importantly, why had he gathered so many people here?

Could it be that he was planning to stage a rebellion?

The leading guard’s expression became solemn.

Although he felt that this thought was somewhat ridiculous, the previous situation made him uneasy.

"Look after the gate. I’m going to inform Madam."

The guard said this and hurriedly entered the Sol mansion to meet Elena.

--

On the other side, Aurelius didn’t know that the guards had such a wild imagination.

As for them informing his mother, he had already expected it.

So many people had gathered in front of the mansion so early in the morning.

Even if the guards didn’t take the initiative to inform her, Elena would have learned about it sooner or later.

’It seems that I can no longer keep certain things secret...’ Aurelius whispered inwardly.

Despite being deep in thought, his footsteps didn’t pause.

He walked through the streets and soon left the city, leaving the guards at the entrance stunned.

Before long, Aurelius and the Players had arrived at an empty plain.

Being surrounded and stared at with fervor by so many people, Aurelius might have panicked in the past. But after his previous experience in Mia’s Alchemy Shop, he managed to remain calm.

He glanced at the Players, male and female alike, and opened his mouth to speak.

"You must be Miss Emma’s friends. She previously informed me that some of you might be interested in my new Alchemy creations."

His gaze swept across the crowd.

"Since that’s the case, I’ve taken the opportunity to add a few extra items."

As he spoke, Aurelius waved his hand.

Under the influence of the NPC Template and the Trade Talent, a screen appeared in front of the Players.

Immediately, they saw the items most of them were already familiar with, as well as some items they had seen on the forum.

Besides these, however, there were also a few objects they had heard of before.

Clearly, this was what Aurelius referred to as the "extra items."

...

[Red Hare Armor (Common): ...]

[Price: 5000 Experience or 30 Skill Points]

...

[Sunfall Blade (Common): ...]

[Price: 7500 Experience or 50 Skill Points]

...

[Solar Shield (Common): ...]

[Price: 10000 Experience or 85 Skill Points]

...

A large number of Relics entered the Players’ eyes.

Most of them were Common, mostly used by Rank 1 Awakeners. Only a couple of them surpassed that rank and were Elite.

Yet despite being of the lowest Relic rank possible, these Relics caused the Players’ eyes to shine!

Especially when they saw their powerful effects and made a quick estimate, they realized that even a single Relic was enough to raise their strength to the next level.

Holding such an item, even an ordinary person could contend with an ordinary Awakener!

For the weak Players, whose strongest member had only just become an Awakener, this was an irresistible temptation.

But just as the Players became excited, already clamoring that they would buy an entire Relic set and become invincible, their gazes moved to the prices, and their expressions rapidly shifted.

"10,000 Experience? Bah! Who is stupid enough to buy this?"

"The weakest Common Relic costs 3,000 EXP? Isn’t that three times the price of the Sun Knight Class?"

"Guys, look! The Elite Relic costs 100,000 EXP!"

The crowd instantly became noisy. They voiced their complaints one after another.

Aurelius waved his hand to interrupt them.

"These are some of the Relics I’ve forged lately," he said.

"Although they may be somewhat pricey, I can assure you that the price is absolutely worth it."

"Take the Red Hare Armor, for example. With its power, someone at Rank 1 can withstand the attack of a Rank 2 Awakener. This can very well save their lives!"

"The Sunfall Blade is even more terrifying. If a Rank 2 Awakener isn’t careful, a single swing can harvest their life."

"The Solar Shield..."

Aurelius continued his sales speech.

He didn’t exaggerate too much.

Everything he said was based on the actual abilities of the Relics.

However, as he continued explaining their effects, the Players’ expressions gradually changed.

By the end, the faint dissatisfaction in their eyes had disappeared.

Watching the alternating emotions on the Players’ faces, Aurelius nodded his head in satisfaction secretly.

He knew very well that no Player, including TheoryMaster69, had the EXP required to purchase these items.

The reason he had added them to the shop was merely to inform the Players that they existed.

In simple terms, even if the Players became Awakeners, they would still have to visit Aurelius if they wanted to grow stronger!

The thought of this made Aurelius smile inwardly.

As long as he established himself as the place where Players could obtain better equipment, skills, and other resources, they would naturally return to him again and again.

After all, Aurelius could be certain that there was no "NPC" like him in the entire Nova Roma.

Sure enough, based on the reactions of the Players, Aurelius judged that his plan had succeeded.

"Of course, these are far beyond your current selves. You should work hard to become Awakeners first."

"Then, you can consider other things."

As though in response, the Players saw the Discount Coupon and the Sun Knight Class in the shop shine brightly.

The glow seemed to have awakened them.

Yes!

These Relics were far from something they could target at present. But once they became Awakeners, gathering EXP was bound to be far easier.

By then, obtaining Elite or even Rare Relics was entirely possible!

Thinking of this, no Player hesitated any longer.

The crowd instantly became chaotic again.

"I want to purchase the Sun Knight Class!"

"Give me two Mysterious Skill Books!"

"Sir Aurelius! I’ve found one of the items you previously requested!"
