Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Hua Mountain Sword Discussion, Cleared

In Sect Leader Chen Sha’s courtyard.

"The first form of the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms, ’The Arrogant Dragon Has Regrets,’ contains two types of Power: ’Firm Strength’ and ’Hidden Strength.’ The thirty percent you release is like a dragon raising its head—fierce and unyielding. But that’s just for show. You must hide the other seventy percent of your Power. Only then, after one palm strike, will your returning force be endless, with each strike more powerful than the last..."

He stood under the eaves with his hands behind his back, looking at the two youths who had come to be his disciples.

Qi Zhengyi and Lin Baibai.

The two of them looked as if they only half-understood.

Chen Sha shook his head at the sight. "First, I want each of you to perform a set."

The two immediately fell into their stances.

Several meters away, Lin Qingqing was perched atop a wall, her chin cupped in her hands as she enjoyed the show. She looked like a star student watching the troublemakers get a talking-to from the teacher.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Compared to Qi Zhengyi’s simple movements, Lin Baibai’s Palm Power was explosive. His waist and stance were perfectly coordinated, and he moved like a tiger, showing a solid foundation in his Power.

Chen Sha walked up to each of them in turn, patting them on the arm.

"Feel the Power I am sending into your bodies..."

BOOM!

Chen Sha had sent a current of Power into each of the youths. They immediately struck out, and the resulting Palm Wind from their attacks extended over two feet, making their sleeves whip about.

"Thank you, Sect Leader!" Lin Baibai was overjoyed.

He thrust out another palm, feeling the Power within him diminish by a tenth as it exploded outwards. The resulting Palm Wind was strong enough to make the grass a meter away sway.

Chen Sha couldn’t help but frown at the sight.

’This Lin Baibai... he only knows how to unleash his Power, without understanding the concept of ’regret’...’

He couldn’t help but glance at Lin Qingqing enjoying the show from atop the wall, sighing to himself.

’The difference between a genius and a mediocrity was on full display with these siblings.’

However, as he looked at Lin Baibai and Qi Zhengyi, he noted that while neither was a genius on par with Lin Qingqing, there was still a clear difference in aptitude between the two of them.

Lin Baibai had the Lin Family’s martial arts as his foundation. When he performed this form from the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms, his movements were precise and flawless. But this youth had been coddled since birth and had an arrogant personality. For him, achieving ’Hidden Strength’ would be more difficult than for an ordinary person.

Qi Zhengyi, on the other hand, while unremarkable and honest by nature, was able to fully absorb Chen Sha’s teachings.

Just like Guo Jing, it wouldn’t be a problem for him to master the first form of the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms within a month.

"That bit of Power I sent into your bodies will let you experience the feeling of creating a Palm Wind a few times. Practice diligently. You don’t have much of the month left."

After saying his piece, Chen Sha sent them to continue their training in the woods behind the courtyard.

He himself turned back into the house and continued his ’Hua Mountain Peak’ cultivation.

Last time, he and Wang Chongyang had fought to a draw on Hua Mountain Peak. In the end, it devolved into a battle of stamina, and both of them ended up exhausted.

To thoroughly defeat Wang Chongyang, he needed to integrate the variations in Power from several techniques into his Dao Yi Seal. These included Wang Chongyang’s ’One Qi Transforms into the Three Pristine Ones’ and ’Frost-Breaking Palm,’ as well as Lord Duan’s ’One Yang Finger.’ This would continue to expand the might of Dao Yi Mountain’s unique Fist Seal.

Over the following days, Chen Sha would occasionally step outside to chat with and guide the three youths who had come up the mountain to seek his tutelage.

Meanwhile, within the Cosmic Light Fragments, he sparred with the heroes of Hua Mountain, comprehending and learning the variations in their Martial Arts Power.

There were about a thousand people on Hua Mountain Peak.

It was as if all the masters of the Jianghu from the era of *Legend of the Condor Heroes* had been gathered in one place. However, only the Four Extremes were true Grandmasters; the Power of the others was first-rate at best.

The Martial Arts of some of these sects were quite profound.

For example, Cheng Jike of the "Mixed Element Thunderbolt Sect."

His sect’s Martial Arts were the ’Mixed Element Skill’ and ’Thunder Fist.’

A later disciple of this sect, Cheng Kun, was able to use these to become a Grandmaster Level expert, which proved that these two Martial Arts were also Grandmaster Level.

Then there were major Jianghu sects like the Kongtong Sect and the Qingcheng Sect, whose martial foundations were also quite deep.

Although these sects didn’t produce any major figures in later generations, their martial foundations were still impressive. They still provided Chen Sha an opportunity to observe their Power and the variations in their techniques.

...

In one day in the outside world, Chen Sha could enter the Cosmic Light Fragments to fight more than fifty times!

This even included the time he spent recuperating in the outside world after a major battle. If he didn’t need to regulate his spirit, Chen Sha could enter battle several hundred times a day.

The Hua Mountain Peak scenario takes place over seven days. By entering it fifty times in a single day, Chen Sha could accumulate combat experience equivalent to fighting nonstop for a whole year!

In what felt like the blink of an eye, half a month went by.

...

One day, Chen Sha stepped outside and had someone prepare a wooden dummy for him, its body covered in markings for various acupressure points.

CHI!

With a light flick of his finger, a ray of Finger Power shot out, covering thirty-six of the acupressure points on the wooden dummy at once.

It was just a single finger, yet the variations of Power it contained were immense, encompassing over a dozen different applications of force, such as striking, grappling, sealing, and twisting.

CHICHICHICHICHI!

The streams of Finger Power landed on various points on the wooden dummy. Like the tips of sharp swords, they pierced straight through the wood!

Just then, Lin Qingqing arrived to ask for guidance. She happened to catch the sight of Chen Sha executing the technique. His figure moved as if in flight—flowing like a river when in motion, yet still as a mountain when unmoving. The Finger Power he projected shot out like Sword Qi!

She asked in delight, "Master, what Martial Art is this? Can I learn it in the future?"

’Chen Sha was still reflecting. The ’One Yang Finger’ he had just performed was merely an imitation, created by using his powerful Grandmaster Level Power to mimic the technique’s force and movements. It didn’t contain the special True Qi of the actual One Yang Finger. So, while it was similar in form, it lacked the genuine article’s ability to pierce Qi and shatter defenses.’

’Still, it was more than enough to be integrated into the Dao Yi Seal to enhance its power.’

Hearing Lin Qingqing’s voice brought him out of his thoughts.

Chen Sha looked over in the direction of the voice.

The girl was dressed in a pure white Daoist Robe today, her hair tied up with a simple wooden pin. She trotted over excitedly.

"Using a finger to project Sword Qi... what an elegant Martial Art! I want to learn that."

’He was momentarily taken aback. He’d almost forgotten these past few days that this girl was a natural-born Sword Embryo. If she practiced Sword Techniques, she would achieve twice the results with half the effort compared to practicing Fist Techniques.’

Chen Sha couldn’t help but shake his head and say, "Don’t get ahead of yourself. First, master the Seventy-Two Paths of Void Clarity Fist."

Lin Qingqing stuck out her tongue. "I practice very quickly! I’ve already learned forty-eight styles of boxing."

"Forty-eight styles...?"

Chen Sha fell silent.

Then he said:

"It seems your talent needs no further testing. If you can pass my second trial, I will officially accept you as my True Disciple. At that point, forget about this minor Finger Sword Skill. I will find the World’s Number One Sword Technique—the one most suited for you—for you to cultivate."

Lin Qingqing said happily, "Mhm, I definitely won’t disappoint you."

After that, Chen Sha gave Lin Qingqing some pointers on the issues with the Punching Force for the Forty-Nine Paths. He watched as the girl bowed and then departed, looking happy and satisfied.

’After I clear the Hong Qigong Chapter and ascend the Nine Heavens, there should be plenty of sword practitioners. If, in a year, her character and Heart Nature pass my test to my satisfaction, I’ll truly raise her to become the future’s greatest Swordsman, perhaps even a Sword Immortal. How difficult could that be?’

The thought flashed through Chen Sha’s mind.

He turned and went back into the house, continuing his grueling battles with the many masters on Hua Mountain Peak.

And so, another ten days passed.

Twenty-five days had passed in the outside world. For the Hua Mountain Sword Discussion Chapter, this meant Chen Sha had been fighting inside for over a decade, using that time to analyze and comprehend the Martial Arts of Hua Mountain’s assembled heroes.

Although he couldn’t learn their Inner Power Heart Methods just from the forms, after watching the variations in their techniques and Power for over a decade, even a pig could have learned the moves and been inspired to create something new.

...

Hua Mountain Peak.

After fighting in the Cosmic Light Fragments for over a decade, today was the day.

Chen Sha knew this would be his final time sweeping through the assembled heroes to face Wang Chongyang.

He unleashed a fist.

Chen Sha’s figure seemed to grow taller. The skin and fascia all over his body pulsed. He raised his hand high above his head, forming a Fist Seal. The Fist Seal changed again and again, transforming hundreds of times in an instant.

The punch struck out, and it was as if one became two, two became three, and from three came all things. The sky filled with a storm of phantom fists. Yet in the next instant, they all converged back into a single arm, descending upon Wang Chongyang. All he saw was a single, fair-skinned fist falling from the sky.

Dao Yi Seal!

The moment Wang Chongyang made contact, his entire body shook violently.

’One Qi Transforms into the Three Pristine Ones, Shoe Frost Breaking Ice Palm Force...’

He staggered, his arm feeling as if it were being crushed by an impossibly heavy mountain peak. With a sharp SNAP, the bone broke.

Even the unceasing, life-giving power of his Innate Skill could not withstand the terrifying and unparalleled variations of force that exploded from that single punch.

It was as if one person had become a hundred, each performing a different Martial Art, and then all of them had integrated back into one person’s single punch!

BOOM!

An endless, terrifying torrent of Power and Qi Power exploded from the point of the fist, tearing through the air!

Wang Chongyang was struck by the punch and stumbled back seven steps, coughing up blood.

"This poor Daoist admits defeat!"
