Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Without a Word, Flattened with a Single Palm

"Tell me if Ancient Transformation Dragon is dead or alive, and where Chen Canxuan has imprisoned him!"

The Child Emperor was like a bolt of high-speed lightning.

His outstretched palm, seemingly as harmless as a child’s, tore through the very air.

SHRRRRIP~~

A sound like ripping silk echoed.

Song Yu could already see his fate: a claw seizing him by the neck.

The Child Emperor was a Half-Step Grandmaster Level expert.

He himself was only at the Peak First-class Level.

With their Realm Cultivation separated by more than a full Realm, it was impossible for him to mount any kind of defense.

BANG!

But Song Yu was not captured. A blood-soaked Elder had charged forward recklessly, once again blocking the Child Emperor’s attack.

Song Yu was the leading disciple of his generation; he couldn’t be allowed to come to any harm.

"Song Yu, fall back! Take the disciples and retreat to the back of the mountain!"

The Elder roared, unleashing Dao Yi Mountain’s ultimate technique, the "Great Entwining Hand," as he clawed fiercely at the Child Emperor.

For a moment, the air seemed to churn with steel wires, twisting into spiraling streams of energy that enveloped the Child Emperor.

"Heh, how long can you protect him!"

The Child Emperor laughed loudly. He chopped down with his palm, his immense Half-Step Grandmaster Level True Qi surging without any flourish. With a force that could split mountains and part waves, a single strike sent the Elder staggering back, vomiting blood.

Song Yu, having escaped the Child Emperor’s attack, heard the Elder’s plea and was torn by an internal struggle:

’The back of the mountain? Ask the little martial uncle for help? No, these people came for Ancient Transformation Dragon. If they find out he’s imprisoned at the back of the mountain...’

The more he thought, the more he sweated. He turned his head and shouted:

"Why isn’t the Sect Leader here yet?"

Suddenly, a female Daoist fighting her way over from the distance yelled, "The Daoists on the mountain have found the Sect Leader! He’s on his way!"

It was his Second Junior Sister, Yuu Miaolian.

"That’s great!"

Song Yu was overjoyed. If Chen Sha could arrive in time, they wouldn’t have to retreat to the back of the mountain at all.

Judging by the strength the Sect Leader showed when he defeated Old Five that day, his Cultivation had reached Grandmaster Peak, no less than that of the Elders on the mountain.

If he could make it, they would have one more Grandmaster. After a bloody battle, they might just be able to drive the Extraordinary Nine Monsters off the mountain.

This way, they could preserve the Dao Yi Sect’s reputation and avoid exposing the location of the great demon Ancient Transformation Dragon, who was guarded by the little martial uncle at the back of the mountain, preventing future trouble.

However, Song Yu and Yuu Miaolian’s conversation reached the ears of the Extraordinary Nine Monsters, who burst into laughter.

"Still waiting for your Sect Leader? He’s not coming!"

What?

Song Yu’s face changed.

’What do these people mean?’

"Giggle, giggle... you think it’s just us, the Extraordinary Nine Monsters, who are making a move on your Dao Yi Mountain?"

Mei Xiangu looked at Yuu Miaolian, who was charging over with her sword to relieve the pressure on Song Yu.

The only woman among the Extraordinary Nine Monsters, Mei Xiangu, whipped her scarlet lash, making the air crackle as she struck at Yuu Miaolian:

"Your Sect Leader was probably snatched up by that Demoness from the Demon Sect and taken back to the Celestial Demon Sect long ago. And you’re still counting on him!"

As she spoke, the cracking of her whip seemed to lash at the hearts of Song Yu, Yuu Miaolian, and the others.

’The Sect Leader... captured by some woman... and taken to the Celestial Demon Sect?!!’

’Could it be...’

"No, that can’t be..."

Yuu Miaolian was struck by Mei Xiangu’s words, her face turning pale. Even her Sword Technique, used to parry Mei Xiangu, became a little unsteady.

"Hee hee, can’t be? Why not? Your young Sect Leader is only at the Grandmaster level. That Witch brought two other Grandmasters with her to your Dao Yi Mountain two months ago."

Mei Xiangu closed in on Yuu Miaolian. From a distance of ten feet, she danced her whip into a blur of afterimages, lashing out with a CRACKLE:

"That Witch is the top ace of the Celestial Demon Sect, about as strong as my boss. If three Grandmasters attacked him, do you really think your little Sect Leader could have held out?"

Upon hearing this, the world went dark for Song Yu, Yuu Miaolian, and all the Elders on the mountain.

They couldn’t imagine that while they were fighting the Extraordinary Nine Monsters, their Sect Leader, Chen Sha, was being surrounded by three Grandmasters from the Celestial Demon Sect.

They had been completely and utterly outmaneuvered.

’The Witch they’re talking about couldn’t be...’

Song Yu thought with a pale face of the woman from Jiangnan Dao who had been allowed to stay on the mountain only because of his approval.

It now seemed ninety-nine percent certain that she was working with these people from the inside.

’Sect Leader, my brother... it’s my fault!’

Song Yu was filled with immense regret and a will to die:

’Master, your disciple has been unfilial! I have brought this disaster upon our sect and doomed my junior brother!’

He charged violently at the nearest of the Nine Monsters, the Pig Craftsman, his True Qi erupting as if he intended to take the monster down with him!

’If what they say is true, the Sect Leader might already be...’

Yuu Miaolian was also overcome with grief. "Kill!"

She immediately unleashed her power, heedless of the cost to her True Qi. Her longsword tore through the air as she charged suicidally at Mei Xiangu.

This was exactly the effect the Extraordinary Nine Monsters wanted.

Throwing Song Yu and the others into emotional chaos would make them easier to deal with.

HISS! HISS!

Yuu Miaolian’s longsword spat out gusts of blade wind. Though she was only a First-class Expert, her Sword Technique was exquisite, a Superior Martial Art from Dao Yi Mountain. Fueled by rage and desperation, she closed the distance and got right in Mei Xiangu’s face, neutralizing the long-range advantage of her whip.

But as she focused all her effort on attacking Mei Xiangu, she failed to notice another of the Nine Monsters nearby, the Half-Baked Doctor. He sneered and, with a flick of his wrist, sent nine hidden weapons flying toward Yuu Miaolian’s back.

WHOOSH!!

The projectiles whistled through the air, coming from behind her head.

Hearing the sound, Yuu Miaolian cried out in her heart. With a tap of her foot, she dodged the hidden weapons.

But the dodge disrupted the flow of her sword, creating an opening that Mei Xiangu immediately exploited. She lunged forward and struck Yuu Miaolian square in the chest with her palm!

BANG!

Yuu Miaolian flew backward through the air, coughing up mouthfuls of blood.

"Ha, die!"

After sending Yuu Miaolian flying with a palm strike, Mei Xiangu’s laughter was filled with murderous intent and cruelty:

"Die, die, die, die, die!"

Stamping her feet rapidly, she swung her whip, aiming for the head of the airborne Yuu Miaolian.

The whip broke the sound barrier with its force. If it connected, it would likely shatter her skull!

"Junior Sister Yuu!"

"Martial Uncle Yuu!"

Zhang Liting and the other Elders were horrified. Their faces changed as they rushed desperately to help.

But it was too late.

As she lashed out with the whip, Mei Xiangu caught the enraged and desperate cries of Zhang Liting and the other Dao Yi Daoists in the corner of her eye. A sense of vicious pleasure welled up within her. ’Not even an Immortal can save her now!’

But, in that very instant.

SWOOSH!!

A sound that tore through the heavens and earth, sharp enough to shatter eardrums, pierced the air.

CRACK!

Just as the whip was about to strike Yuu Miaolian, a long saber flew through the air and, with terrifying Qi Power, split the whip in two!

"Who?!"

Mei Xiangu’s face drained of color in shock.

She immediately saw a young man in a simple Daoist Robe striding out from the distant woods. He moved like a bolt of lightning across the sky, appearing behind Yuu Miaolian in the blink of an eye. He reached out, caught her by the waist, and landed steadily on the ground, holding her.

Yuu Miaolian had closed her eyes in despair, but suddenly she felt herself supported by a surge of immense True Qi from behind. Looking up, she saw an incredibly young, familiar, and handsome face:

"Junior Brother... Sect Leader!"

Tears instantly welled up in her eyes.

"You’re okay!"

In that moment, everyone else turned to look at the young Daoist who had saved Yuu Miaolian.

"Junior Brother!" Song Yu exclaimed with delight.

"Sixth Brother!" Zhang Liting cried out in ecstasy. "You actually made it!"

At the same time, all the Elders and disciples of Dao Yi Mountain watched the tall, young figure who, after setting Yuu Miaolian down, began walking silently toward the Extraordinary Nine Monsters.

"Sect Leader!"

"Sect Leader!"

"The Sect Leader is here!"

For a time, all sorts of ecstatic and excited shouts erupted from the Daoists in the cemetery forest.

Meanwhile, Mei Xiangu, being the closest to Chen Sha, heard the Daoists’ impassioned cries. Her expression changed drastically as she watched him walk toward her.

’How did the Dao Yi Sect Leader get here? What the hell was that Demoness from the Demon Sect doing...’

She saw the young Daoist’s face was as calm and dark as still water as he strode toward her, step by step.

For some unknown reason, Mei Xiangu’s heart began to pound wildly, and a grave sense of crisis washed over her.

She watched Chen Sha get closer and closer, step by step.

Her body moved almost uncontrollably, rushing to attack, as if she knew that if she didn’t strike now, she would never get another chance.

’He’s just a Grandmaster, isn’t he? His Power isn’t as deep as the boss’s. What am I afraid of? It’s not like I’ve never fought a Grandmaster before. I’ll just tie him up for a moment, and the boss will naturally come and take over!’

Mei Xiangu immediately flicked her whip, lashing it at Chen Sha.

WHIRRR!!

The whip stirred the air as it flew toward Chen Sha’s face.

But in Mei Xiangu’s eyes, the young Daoist didn’t even blink. He continued to walk forward, step by step, and reached out a hand as if it were the most casual thing in the world.

SNAP!

The whip that had cracked the air was caught effortlessly in his hand.

And then,

as he continued to stride forward, Chen Sha clenched his five fingers, wrapped the whip around his hand, and with a single tug, pulled Mei Xiangu—whip and all—right toward him.

WHOOSH!

In the blink of an eye, Mei Xiangu was flying toward Chen Sha. Before she even had time to react, her throat was caught in his grasp.

"Ah... ghh..."

The woman from the Extraordinary Nine Monsters had a look of utter despair and terror, letting out a choked groan as if to beg for mercy:

"Spar—"

CRACK!

But she only felt the hand on her neck squeeze, and in Mei Xiangu’s vision, the world lost all its color.

From the moment Chen Sha saved Yuu Miaolian, to his silent walk toward Mei Xiangu, to catching the whip, pulling her in, and snapping her neck—the entire sequence of events happened in the space of a single breath.

No one else even had time to react.

By the time Chen Sha tossed the corpse of the female monster from the Nine Monsters aside like a piece of trash,

"Ninth Sister!!"

The Pig Craftsman roared, his scarlet mouth wide open. Among the Nine Monsters, he cherished and protected this sister the most. He never imagined that in a single instant, life and death would separate them forever.

HUFF!

He took several large strides, his two pig-butchering knives spinning into a whirlwind of blades three feet in front of him.

He arrived before Chen Sha!

A Grandmaster Level slash descended!

WHOOSH!

But as the slash fell, only terror remained in the Pig Craftsman’s eyes.

His blade had only cut through empty air; it hadn’t even grazed Chen Sha’s clothes.

Under the slash, the young Daoist had simply tilted his head and shifted his body slightly, dodging the pig-butchering knife—a weapon that could cleave a man in two—by a hair’s breadth.

Then, his palm swung like lightning and slammed into the Pig Craftsman’s neck!

SMACK!

The stout man from the Extraordinary Nine Monsters, who was as fat as a pig, had his head and neck slapped sideways into a pulp of flesh and bone. His body was sent flying thirty feet away.

He was killed instantly, all signs of life extinguished on the spot!
