My Professions Have Too Much Personality
Chapter 644 - 350: Holy Profession - Shadow Shattering Body
Seven speed-related professions were neatly displayed on his interface.
Things were different now. With plenty of resources at his disposal, all the professions he pulled up this time were special ones that required a baseline of Tier Seven to take on. Although he would consume seven portions of Crimson Essence to reduce the difficulty, combining seven into one would naturally increase it. Therefore, he had to keep the requirements for taking on the profession within Tier Seven. It would be awkward if he ended up with a Holy Profession that required Tier Eight to take on.
With a shift in his thoughts, the interface immediately responded—
[Great Venerable Red Flame Thunder Resonator requests the host to ignite the Morning Fire so it can draw the flame.]
Su Chen glanced over it. A wisp of Morning Fire gradually burst from his chest and was suddenly absorbed into his body.
[Morning Fire ignited. Great Venerable Red Flame Thunder Resonator is kneading the seven professions before you together, pulling in seven portions of Faceless Ghost, Crimson, and Sly Fox Essence. Using Wind Dancer as the core, smelting in progress...]
Naturally, Su Chen wouldn’t waste the Wind Dancer profession he had already taken on. He had already used three portions of Black Tuo Essence to initiate the Holy Profession transformation. Only in this way could he smelt a Holy Profession from a non-Holy Profession Sequence.
Whether it was an illusion or not, Su Chen vaguely heard the CRACKLE of burning flames.
[Holy Profession—Shadow Shattering Body, smelting complete. You may take on the profession after fulfilling the requirements.]
[Profession Requirement 1: Must be at least a dual Tier Seven Professional, and all current professions must be Top Level.]
[Profession Requirement 2: Find a "dynamic balance point" where the laws of motion of all things are both complex and clear. Conduct an observation period of "five years and five days" so that your mind can automatically deduce and perfectly replicate the motion trajectories of all objects within the observation point for the next ten minutes.]
[Profession Requirement 3: Collect the retina of a Time Beast, the water of the River of Prophecy, and the tendons of a Flash Shadow Leopard. Weave a mirror of "possibility" and merge it into your body.]
[Profession Requirement 4: You must independently, without relying on any external force, hunt down ten lifeforms that exceed your own Tier. (Fulfilling this requirement and taking on the profession will grant an extra reward.)]
[Profession Requirement 5: Comprehend the speed of "stillness." Absolute fast is absolute slow. (Grants one Guiding opportunity.)]
A sprawling list of five profession requirements was arrayed on the interface.
Su Chen scanned them. Only Requirement 1 seemed relatively normal. From Requirement 2 onward, the difficulty skyrocketed. Mandatory time-based, collection rituals, hunting, and conceptual requirements—it had everything. Although he had never heard of the materials and rituals involved, the mandatory time duration and the Tier of the hunting targets were enough to show that the difficulty of this Holy Profession was absolutely sky-high.
"Five years, ten lifeforms that exceed my own Tier..." Su Chen clicked his tongue in astonishment. But he couldn’t blame anyone else; it was his own fault for being greedy for power and exclusively picking High-tier Professions that he could take on. Of course, this level of difficulty was only relative to him. If word got out that fulfilling these requirements would allow one to directly take on a Holy Profession, who knew how many people would turn red with envy.
"Even so, this is enough to save me a massive amount of time."
Su Chen could still do the math clearly. Even going by their original power level, taking on seven professions one after another wouldn’t be as straightforward as completing just one. Taking them on consecutively would involve many overlapping requirements, which would actually waste time.
"A Holy Profession based on profession requirements... there’s probably no precedent for this in the entire Dust Star Sea," Su Chen noted as he flipped through the taking-on requirements of the Holy Profession a few more times. He somewhat doubted if the Great Venerable could truly awaken such an ability. Even with the stimulation of the Sun Residual Fire, the interface likely played a bigger role. Without taming that Sun Residual Fire, it would be impossible for the Great Venerable to merge with it.
"As for these requirements, I’ll prepare them slowly. With the Sect’s resources, it will just take some time. It’ll eventually succeed."
It felt great to have such powerful backing. Thinking of this, Su Chen couldn’t help but sigh in appreciation.
He visited the Nether Tower to take another look. The Fire-igniting Ash was suspended inside, its luster having recovered by about sixty to seventy percent. It would likely fully recover in a little more time. Going back and forth consumed far more Energy than returning alone. Su Chen didn’t dare let it attempt anything while its Energy wasn’t full.
Returning to the training room, he activated the Body Refining and Meditation Technique he had called up a few days prior. Feeling the development efficiency that had dropped by more than just a notch, he was already starting to miss his previous pace. Starting from Tier Seven, one could already be considered a High-tier Professional, and the decline in development efficiency was quite severe. It had taken him about a year to advance from Tier Six to Tier Seven.
"With my current development efficiency, climbing from Tier Seven to Tier Eight will conservatively take about five years. And that’s not even counting the further decline after reaching 50% development. Otherwise, it might take even longer.
"Five years just to reach Tier Eight," Su Chen sighed wistfully.
If anyone else heard this, they would likely be dumbfounded. For anyone under fifty, regardless of whether their Talent was high or low, even if they focused solely on developing their Main Profession without taking on any other special professions, it was very difficult to advance to a Tier Eight Professional before the age of fifty. Such speed could already be called terrifying. However, Su Chen was still only in his early twenties. Five years felt quite long to him.
"Once I take on the eight-in-one profession, my development efficiency will stack by 350%. It should boost my speed significantly, and advancing to the True Radiance Tier should bring another qualitative change."
Su Chen thought about it. Neither of these two things could be completed in a short time, especially the latter. He still didn’t even know what Flame Fire Golden Sand or Moonlight Treasure Bone were. He could at least hazard a guess about the latter. Nine times out of ten, it was likely the bones of a Moonlight Tier Professional. It probably wasn’t just a simple bone either, considering it had "Treasure Bone" in its name.
