My Professions Have Too Much Personality
Chapter 628 - 342: Fleecing Old Hei Again, Divine Blood Gathered
"Spirit Fragments left behind after the death of a Sun Tier?" Faceless Ghost’s interest seemed to surge, his voice rising in pitch and carrying a hint of urgency. "Is there any more information?"
"It’s said that this Sun was not a Professional from the Dust Star Sea." On such basic information, Su Chen didn’t plan to lie.
"Not a Professional from the Dust Star Sea..." Faceless Ghost didn’t sound surprised. He muttered to himself, "He must be from the Abyss Realm."
Su Chen’s heart stirred. He wondered what kind of place the Abyss Realm was to be capable of producing a Sun Tier.
He couldn’t help but feel a pang of curiosity. These Deceitful Gods knew far more than the Sects and the Royal Court. This was partly due to their long lifespans, and partly because the Nether Fog affected them far less than it did normal living beings. Furthermore, they could utilize the Nether Realm to travel. Distance was hardly an issue for them.
Although Su Chen was curious, he couldn’t find a suitable opportunity to ask. Faceless Ghost was cunning and unpredictable, and a Believer was not supposed to possess curiosity. Therefore, he could only maintain his silence in response to Faceless Ghost’s muttering.
"Is that all?" Faceless Ghost seemed dissatisfied. Three drops of Divine Blood for these few sentences was truly too expensive.
Seeing this, Su Chen had to continue, "According to what that Sun said, within the Lost Flame, there is a Spirit of Sun that carries the Sun Profession."
"A Spirit of Sun?" Faceless Ghost’s reaction was extremely intense. The surrounding fog surged even faster as he spoke rapidly, "There really is a wisp of the Spirit of Sun in the Lost Flame. Those guys didn’t guess wrong. This is an opportunity to advance to the Final Ruins..."
Faceless Ghost murmured a lot of things. Su Chen couldn’t catch some of it, but he heard the rest.
Su Chen wondered if the Final Ruins was a tier above the Great Deceitful God, and if it corresponded to the Sun Tier. Following this train of thought, he couldn’t help but feel puzzled. The slots for Professional Tiers were rigidly capped; it was understandable that the Dust Star Sea hadn’t produced a Sun Tier in so many years.
But these Deceitful Gods had incredibly long lifespans and didn’t follow the conventional Professional paths. Why were they still stuck at the Great Deceitful God level without advancing? Were they missing some crucial condition? Or was their advancement path also restricted to a limited number of slots?
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Su Chen replied, "The three drops of Divine Blood you bestowed only managed to exchange for this information. Please forgive me."
"Hmm..." Faceless Ghost pondered, gradually returning to calm. "It is a bit expensive, but I did obtain some crucial information after all."
Hearing this, Su Chen secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He then added, "After the Sun appeared, he attracted the attention of the Ancient Kings of the major Sects and the Hanhai Emperor. They all want to extract more information about the Spirit of Sun from him, and the Sun seems to have spoken of certain plans."
"Oh? What plans?" Faceless Ghost naturally pressed for details.
"He didn’t say," Su Chen said hesitantly. "He wants to demand more Divine Blood."
"More Divine Blood?" Faceless Ghost seemed confused. "What does he need so much Divine Blood for? Even a Melting Holy Profession wouldn’t consume that much, and the True Martial Sect should have their own reserves. Or could it be that he’s secretly plotting something?"
"He didn’t tell me." Su Chen shook his head and added, "If you wish to know, I’ll figure out a way to find out."
"How could he possibly let you know about such things?" Faceless Ghost held no hope for that. Around him, overlapping voices echoed, "A plan... A plan targeting the Spirit of Sun? How much Divine Blood does he want?"
Su Chen hesitated briefly before giving a number, "Five drops."
"Five drops? Ha!" Faceless Ghost sneered. "What does he take me for? He wants five drops of Divine Blood for a piece of unconfirmed news? Is he a Deceitful God, or am I..."
Seeing his expected reluctance, Su Chen further added, "He told me to convey to you that this plan is extremely vast in scope. Currently, the Lost Flame seems to be in some sort of Vigorous Stage. Ordinary Moonlight Tiers would find it difficult to even approach. If this plan succeeds, those Ancient Kings and the Emperor seem to have a way to enter it and seize the initiative."
"They can enter?" Faceless Ghost’s voice suddenly dropped low upon hearing this. "In that case, this plan indeed holds some value... If I can take advantage of the situation... Five drops of Divine Blood..."
He pondered for a long time before saying, "I can agree to this. However, you need to have him find out one more thing for me."
Su Chen grumbled inwardly about how stingy the entity was—five drops of Divine Blood to accomplish two tasks? Outwardly, he spoke respectfully, "Please speak."
Faceless Ghost’s voice came through. "He should have some acquaintances in the Bronze Sect. Find a way to figure out if anything major has happened in the Bronze Sect recently. Inform me of anything unusual or abnormal."
Major recent events? Su Chen’s heart skipped a beat. His first thought was his own purification of the mid-level Fog Ashes, but that should concern Black Tuo. What did it have to do with Faceless Ghost? Why was he suddenly paying attention to the Bronze Sect?
He couldn’t ask directly, so he could only approach from a different angle. "May I ask what specific aspects this concerns? Do you have any direction in mind, so I can complete your orders as quickly as possible?"
"What aspects..." Faceless Ghost pondered, seeming a bit uncertain himself. "The dormant Black Tuo paid a tremendous price to force an awakening. After thinking it over, I believe it must be related to the Bronze Sect. Check if that Qin Tianlin is truly dead, as well as the Fog Ashes you mentioned before."
Su Chen was shocked to realize that Old Hei had awakened. Was it because of the stimulation from the mid-level Fog Ashes? It seemed that this so-called dormancy didn’t mean he was completely ignorant of the outside world.
However, judging by Faceless Ghost’s tone, Old Hei seemed to have paid quite a hefty price for this awakening.
Su Chen’s heart tightened. The higher the price paid, the greater Black Tuo’s fury would be. What if he just came straight for him to kill him...
