CRACK!

On the bronze clock face, the hand spun backward for a moment, and the sound of grinding gears echoed in everyone’s mind.

Invisible ripples rolled outward. Everyone seemed to sense something, yet it also felt as if nothing had changed at all.

Only Qin Tianlin’s body twitched violently.

’He can’t possibly be alive, can he?’

Su Chen’s eyelid twitched. He saw that the body had only flopped like a dead fish before large streams of black mist began to pour from its eyes, ears, mouth, and nose.

"Sigh..." The Bronze Ancient King sighed and waved his hand. "Black Tuo used his own Source Power to completely erase all traces of his Spirit Core. He cannot be saved."

’Black Tuo really is something else. When he says he’ll kill someone, he doesn’t mess around.’

Su Chen stared at Qin Tianlin’s body on the ground, inwardly clicking his tongue in amazement.

’But what in the world is this Deceitful God Source Power? It’s of a higher grade than Divine Power and can erase all traces of existence... It sounds incredible.’

"He can’t be saved?" Qin Yun’s expression changed instantly. She looked at the Bronze Ancient King as if wanting to say something, but in the end, no words came out. Her face gradually became numb.

The Bronze Ancient King’s gaze fell upon Qin Tianlin’s corpse. Without Qin Tianlin’s Spirit Core to conceal it, he saw at a glance the purple flame and the Spirit Fragments hidden within the body—things that did not belong to Qin Tianlin.

’Is this why Black Tuo targeted him?’

’Sun Residual Fire...’ the Bronze Ancient King mused. ’Was it worth such a great price?’

"Was that Black Tuo just now?"

The surrounding Morning Star Tier experts had gathered around. The Peng King asked, his tone probing.

"Indeed. That was Black Tuo’s flesh-and-blood body. I apologize for startling you all," the Bronze Ancient King said nonchalantly, snapping out of his thoughts.

"The Ancient King is truly worthy of his name. After that blow, Black Tuo will have to lie low for at least three years," the Peng King quickly complimented.

’Black Tuo has to lie low for three years?’

Su Chen was astonished to hear this. ’Old Hei paid a steep price for this attack. No wonder he was so cautious when asking me who to target.’

He knew that after this, he wouldn’t be able to act again for a short time.

He finally understood why, despite their unfathomable methods, so few Great Deceitful Gods ever used their flesh-and-blood bodies.

If caught by an Ancient King-level entity, they’d be forced into silence for several years, unable to respond to their Believers’ prayers. The loss would be substantial.

The Bronze Ancient King shook his head but didn’t respond directly. He simply said, "A junior from my Sect has been ambushed and killed. I have no time for you all at the moment."

Everyone’s expression grew complicated. Seeing that the Bronze Ancient King was about to leave, the Peng King immediately spoke up. "Wait!"

"Ancient King, there seems to be something else hidden inside Qin Tianlin’s body, isn’t there?"

He naturally recognized Qin Tianlin, the Bronze Sect’s only current owner of a Divine Dawn Level Talent.

The Bronze Ancient King’s brow furrowed slightly. He simply reached out and pulled, and a ball of purple flame was yanked from Qin Tianlin’s corpse.

’The Sun Residual Fire?’

Su Chen looked at the fist-sized ball of purple flame before him.

"This seems to be from the same source as the purple flame that envelops the Prison King." Han Xingliu had returned and was now standing beside the Peng King. He spoke as if certain, yet also uncertain.

"This is the Sun Residual Fire. And what’s more, there are Spirit Fragments hidden within it," the Peng King stated with conviction, his voice deepening.

"Venerable Qin Yun, didn’t you say at the time that you had nothing more to hide? How do you explain this? You brought this out from the Lost Flame, didn’t you?"

Qin Yun’s expression was numb; she did not respond.

The Peng King grew faintly annoyed. "You said only those with a Divine Dawn Level Talent could enter. Your grandson just so happened to qualify, and then you placed this Sun Residual Fire inside his body. Were you trying to let him adapt to it in advance, or even have the Spirit of Sun choose him directly?"

When it came to the Spirit of Sun, no one could remain indifferent. The expressions of the other Venerables all changed as they looked at Qin Yun.

"We were almost deceived by you," the Peng King said aggressively. "Ancient King, shouldn’t the Bronze Sect give us an explanation?"

The moment his words fell, the faces of the several Morning Star Tier experts changed abruptly. The Peng King’s pupils shrank. Before he could react, streams of flowing data-light materialized around him, coiling around his body.

This Morning Star Tier expert, powerful enough to shake the stars, seemed to be crushed by an Invisible Power. With a BANG, one of his knees slammed heavily into the ground, cracking the earth beneath.

His eyes cleared up instantly.

The Bronze Ancient King was expressionless. "An explanation? The only owner of a Divine Dawn Level Talent in my Sect just died right here. What kind of explanation do you all expect Bronze to give?"

Venerable Li Qing from the Profound Celestial Sect, who was on good terms with the Bronze Sect, quickly spoke up in a gentle voice, "Ancient King, please calm your anger."

The others also hurried to say, "Ancient King, please calm your anger."

’Tsk tsk...’ Su Chen, standing by the Ancient King’s side, kept his eyes on his nose and his nose on his heart, acting like a wooden statue.

"Ancient King... calm your anger," the Peng King managed to say with difficulty, still kneeling on one knee.

A moment later, he felt the pressure on his body suddenly release, and he staggered to his feet.

"Lingyuan, stay here and handle the scene. The rest of you, come with me." The Bronze Ancient King held the purple flame. Without him making any visible move, the surrounding scenery abruptly changed, and they found themselves in a large hall.

Everyone was there, including the Morning Star Tier experts, as well as Han Xingliu and the others.

Qin Yun, her expression numb, followed the Bronze Ancient King to a conference room on one side of the hall. The other Morning Star Tier experts followed close behind.

After they entered the room, the Bronze Ancient King casually waved his hand, and the ball of purple flame floated to the center.

"Venerable Qin Yun, things have come to this. Are you still going to be secretive?" the Peng King spoke again, though his attitude was much more restrained than before.
