My Pervert Sytem
Chapter 173: Cathedral Breach
The heavy bronze doors of the Grand Cathedral loomed like an impenetrable fortress wall. Intricate carvings of ancient saints adorned the metal depicting holy figures holding the sun and moon. Those once sacred images were now defaced by a creeping sinister violet corruption that pulsed within the deep grooves of the bronze.
Seraphina did not pause to admire the architecture. The silver haired warlord stepped past the broken bodies of the Imperial Executioners. She raised her heavy broadsword resting the gleaming steel against her shoulder. Her Tier One Grandmaster core ignited with a terrifying roar pushing a wave of searing crimson mana into the damp night air.
"Step aside Warden," Seraphina commanded flashing a dangerous predatory smirk. "I am opening this door my way."
Leon casually took a step back crossing his arms over his chest. He appreciated a woman who knew exactly how to make an entrance.
Seraphina drove her heavy leather boot forward while simultaneously unleashing a concentrated blast of volcanic energy from her free hand. The explosive force collided with the center of the massive bronze doors. The deafening concussive boom rattled the stained glass windows lining the plaza. The thick metal hinges groaned in structural agony before violently snapping.
Both bronze doors were forcefully launched inward crashing down onto the polished marble floors of the cathedral’s grand entryway.
Thick clouds of dust and ancient incense billowed out into the cold mist.
Leon led the strike team through the ruined archway stepping into the sprawling nave. The interior of the Divination Court was breathtakingly massive. Colossal white marble pillars stretched up toward a vaulted ceiling painted with intricate constellations. Rows of dark wooden pews lined the central aisle leading toward a raised golden altar situated hundreds of feet away.
The serene holy atmosphere was ruined by the suffocating heavy stench of corrupted earth magic.
Standing in the center of the vast nave was an army of zealots.
Dozens of fanatic mages wearing deep violet robes stood in rigid formations. They were flanked by corrupted holy knights wearing heavy plate armor etched with Vaelorian blood runes. Their eyes burned with the same sickly purple light that infected the mutated beasts proving they had been fed the twisted catalysts to boost their raw power.
"Infidels," a tall fanatic priest hissed from the front line. He raised a jagged wooden staff pointing it directly at Leon. "You bring filth into the High Priestess’s sanctuary. The stars demand your immediate sacrifice."
"I am going to shove that staff down your throat," Elara muttered stepping out from behind Leon. The fierce cook rested her heavy steel cleaver on her shoulder her dark eyes burning with eager violent intent.
"Form a wedge," Leon ordered dropping his voice into a cold military register. "Beatrice and Elara take the flanks. Nyx and Isolde cover the rear. Seraphina and I will break the center. Do not let them surround us."
The zealots did not wait for a formal duel. The fanatic mages began chanting in chaotic unison raising their hands to summon a massive barrage of corrupted magical projectiles. Blazing violet fireballs and jagged shards of toxic ice tore through the air whistling aggressively toward the strike team.
Leon activated his Aura Hardening pushing his dense kinetic energy just beneath his skin. He charged directly into the incoming magical storm.
The violent projectiles slammed against his invisible kinetic armor shattering into harmless sparks of fading energy. He moved with terrifying fluid speed closing the distance to the front line of armored knights before they could raise their heavy tower shields.
He swung his dark steel weapon in a brutal sweeping arc. He poured a concentrated surge of kinetic mass into the blade turning the blunt metal into a devastating battering ram. The heavy weapon collided with the nearest knight caving the thick breastplate inward with a sickening crunch. The impact launched the armored fanatic backward crashing heavily into the chanting mages behind him.
Seraphina matched his brutal pace perfectly. She vaulted over a wooden pew bringing her broadsword down in a blinding arc of crimson fire. The volcanic heat sliced cleanly through two corrupted shields instantly incinerating the knights holding them. Her combat movements were a flawless mesmerizing dance of lethal highborn grace and raw devastating power.
The flanks were equally chaotic. Beatrice unleashed a sweeping wave of freezing mist turning the marble floor into a treacherous sheet of solid ice. The charging zealots slipped and stumbled losing their footing. Elara capitalized on the disruption hurling concentrated spheres of blistering fire that detonated among the disorganized ranks scattering the fanatics in a panic.
Nyx darted through the shadows her curved cutlasses flashing with deadly precision. She moved like a phantom cleanly severing the hamstrings of any corrupted knight attempting to flank the ice and fire mages.
Isolde stood her ground her vibrant green tabard swishing as she unleashed a flurry of rapid piercing thrusts with her glowing rapier. The Emerald Knight fought with strict disciplined perfection finding the weak points in the enemy armor with every single strike.
Leon ducked under a heavy mace swing delivering a devastating uppercut that lifted a fanatic priest entirely off his feet. As he pivoted to engage a new target a corrupted mage standing on a high balcony aimed a loaded crossbow directly at Valeriana.
The beautiful spy was hiding behind a marble pillar clutching her glowing tracking compass. She was far too focused on mapping the underground anchor to notice the impending danger.
A digital interface hummed to life in Leon’s vision projecting a bright pink text box right in the middle of the chaotic skirmish.
[System Directive: The Warlord’s Multitasking]
[Your beautiful quartermaster is vulnerable while doing her job. Save her life while maintaining your undeniable magnetic charm.]
[Objective: Throw your hidden dagger to kill the sniper. Immediately turn to Valeriana, offer a charming wink, and tell her to keep her lovely eyes on the prize.]
[Reward: +20 Agility, 600 Shameless Points.]
Leon did not pause his brutal momentum. He reached into his tailored suit drawing one of his small concealed daggers with a flick of his wrist. He did not even look up at the balcony relying purely on his advanced spatial awareness.
He hurled the dagger with terrifying velocity.
