He hadn’t been here long, and the two sisters were already arguing. Chen Yuan looked up at the ceiling, a helpless look in his eyes. It seemed like Jiang Yao was deliberately starting trouble, but Chen Yuan couldn’t figure out what she was trying to accomplish.

’Can’t we just pick any wallpaper?’

Thankfully, he was used to their arguments. Witnessing the two sisters fight didn’t faze him much anymore. In the past, when Jiang Ning and Jiang Yao fought, they would try to avoid doing it in front of him, careful not to reveal their more violent side. Now, however, they didn’t seem to care. "Okay." Watching Ningning quickly calm down as she tidied her hair, Chen Yuan wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back, trying to get her to sit on his lap. "Come over here."

Jiang Ning hesitated for only a moment before sitting down.

She was completely enveloped in Chen Yuan’s embrace. His hands rested on her waist, and he propped his chin on Ningning’s shoulder in a thoroughly intimate pose.

He had always known that Ningning was a very good-natured person; her only short fuse was for Jiang Yao. While they were looking at the photos, Jiang Yao had been bombarding him with messages. Neither of them had to look to know it was her.

Hearing her say that, Chen Yuan was touched by Jiang Ning’s understanding.

He gave Ningning a hug.

"I’ll head over then."

"Go on. It’s a good chance for me to get some reading done."

As he walked out of Jiang Ning’s room, Chen Yuan didn’t dare look at his phone. Heaven only knew what Yaoyao had sent. She was the type to be completely unsubtle about her scheming. He pushed open the door.

Chen Yuan jumped. Jiang Yao was standing right behind it.
