"Seriously, there were a lot of unhappy times, but with you by my side, even the unhappiness turned into happiness."

"Do I really have that much of an impact?"

"That’s the one thing I’d never doubt about you."

Chen Yuan shrugged.

It was undeniable that on countless occasions, Jiangg Yao had been the one to give him the strength to bravely carry on with their relationship. He wasn’t exactly the most proactive guy, after all, and he had once lost all confidence when faced with the dilemma of choosing between Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao.

If it weren’t for Jiangg Yao, he probably would have given up long ago.

Now, things were gradually getting better.

Whether it was his own family, his future mother-in-law, or even complete strangers, everyone seemed to be giving him a helping hand, allowing him to slowly walk this unconventional path of love.

’He never would have imagined that a day like this would actually come—a day when he’d be taking engagement photos with both Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao.’

They weren’t getting married right away, but the current situation was more than enough to make him ecstatic.

After this whole journey, Chen Yuan knew one thing for certain.

Jiangg Yao’s role in their three-person relationship was absolutely indispensable.

"You’re looking at me so seriously, it makes me feel bad for teasing you," Jiangg Yao said, giving him a light shove. "I know I’m amazing and that you love me a lot. You don’t have to say it out loud."

"Look at you, getting all smug."

"Hey, you’re starting to sound more and more like my sister. How boring."

"I’m not boring, I’m just a little tired. Since we have some time, let’s just rest for a bit. We still have to shoot later..." Chen Yuan sighed deeply, his hand resting on Jiangg Yao’s leg. He stroked it as gently as if it were a piece of fine jade, enjoying the smoothness of his wife’s leg.

He leaned back, his voice thick with languid weariness.

"Other guys would kill to be this ’tired.’ Taking engagement photos with two wives? You should be secretly thanking your lucky stars."

"Hah. Since you look so beautiful today, I’ll let it slide," Chen Yuan said, turning his head to look at her.

"Really? Am I really that beautiful?" Jiangg Yao’s eyes lit up as she looked at him expectantly.

"I couldn’t even bring myself to talk back to you. Isn’t that proof enough?" He thought for a moment before adding hesitantly, "You’re not just beautiful. You’re *very, very* beautiful. The kind of beautiful that makes people think, ’Of course she’s my wife.’"

"Hey, that sounds familiar. When we first met, you said ’Of course she’s my girlfriend.’"

"That’s right. And now my girlfriend has become my wife."

"It’s true. I’m actually going to marry you." She repeated the fact to herself, her gaze drifting upward as a thoughtful expression crossed her face.

Jiangg Yao’s mind went blank. For a moment, she didn’t know what to think.

So, so much had happened in the past year. She cherished every single day, terrified of losing this relationship. Without even realizing it, she had come to see Chen Yuan as the most important person in her life.

Her one and only love.

And now, her wish was finally coming true.

"Good. You’re a man who keeps his promises." She gave him a very serious and important assessment.

Atop the Tokyo Tower.

Chen Yuan had made a solemn promise: once they returned to Mingzhu City, no matter what happened, he wouldn’t make Jiangg Yao wait any longer. Marrying her would no longer be just empty words. Since they loved each other, they would bind their fates together and sketch out the future they both desired.

Afterward, he told Jiang Zhengfeng, and they went back to his hometown together to see his adoptive parents. Jiangg Ning also found out the news, and preparations for the engagement banquet began. He even met with Jiangg Ruxue.

Hearing her assessment, a grin spread across his face.

"I told you, didn’t I...? I always keep my word."

"My darling husband is looking especially handsome and charming today~"

Jiangg Yao knew just what to say to please Chen Yuan. A single compliment was enough to make him feel giddy and incredibly smug.

He never thought of himself as drop-dead gorgeous, but the fact that both sisters liked him and constantly complimented his looks still made Chen Yuan quite happy.

A moment later, however.

Chen Yuan’s smile suddenly froze.

Because Jiangg Yao’s other foot was now resting on him, pressing ever so slightly against a sensitive spot.

He looked down.

"Yaoyao."

"What is it?"

"Could you move your foot?"

"Why should I? I want to keep it here. It’s comfortable. Otherwise, my leg feels so awkward propped up... Can’t I just leave it here?"

"It’s not that you can’t... it’s just a little inappropriate."

"How is it inappropriate?" she asked, looking at Chen Yuan with feigned innocence as her foot shifted again.

Chen Yuan couldn’t help but flinch back.

’It’s broad daylight. Sure, no one’s around, but Jiangg Yao’s actions are way too bold. Knowing her, he was almost certain she was doing it on purpose.’

"Fine, whatever," he said, his cheeks flushing slightly.

Jiangg Yao loved teasing Chen Yuan like this. He was so easy to fluster; in just a few moments, his face would turn bright red, and he wouldn’t be able to take it anymore. The sight always made her burst out laughing.

Catching the clear amusement in her eyes.

Chen Yuan deliberately crossed his legs, trapping her foot between his thighs and rendering Yaoyao immobile.

"Playing dirty, are you?"

"You’re the one who started it."

"Jeez, I just thought my hubby was tired and decided to give you a little reward. If you didn’t like it, you should’ve just said so. It’s not like I’d keep pestering you on purpose."

"How was I supposed to say that out loud? We’re outside..." he muttered, glancing around.

"It’s not like you ever say it when we’re at home, either."

"So you’re trying to force my hand?"

"Of course not. I would never," Yaoyao cooed.

The next moment.

She was pulled into Chen Yuan’s arms as he whispered something in her ear. Jiangg Yao’s beautiful eyes flew wide open in shock; she never thought he’d actually dare to say *that*.

"You hear me? No more. We can talk about your ’reward’ when we get home."
