My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 424: Secret Talk
"You? Surrender? Cut the crap. You think I don’t know you? But what am I supposed to do if someone challenges me? My skills aren’t exactly rock-solid. I could easily get my ass kicked," Chu Tianshan said, sounding a little scared.
"If you’re that scared, you should just go home. If you stick around, you might get beaten up," Chu Feng said.
Chu Tianshan had made his fair share of enemies. And since Chu Feng was also a member of the Chu Family, it was natural for him to be a little afraid.
"I’ve got it! When the time comes, if anyone dares to challenge the Chu Family, I’ll just have you go up and knock them all flat!" Chu Tianshan said.
"Hmph. What gives you the right to order me around? I’m a disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect," Chu Feng said.
"I’m not saying you aren’t a disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect. But you’re a member of our Chu Family first and foremost. Besides, your name is in the family records. You think you can run from that? You’re related to the Chu Family by blood."
"Even if you deny it, do you think those guys will care? They’ll definitely see you as one of the Chu Family. That’s a label you can’t shake," Chu Tianshan said, full of confidence.
Chu Feng was speechless, but he couldn’t deny it. What Chu Tianshan said was the undeniable truth.
Chu Feng knew Chu Tianshan was right. Those people wouldn’t care about the details. As long as Chu Feng was connected to the Chu Family, the family would inevitably be dragged into it.
"You’re just trying to rope me into your mess, but you’re right. All those guys are coming for me," Chu Feng said, nodding.
He figured as much. Tomorrow, the first ones to challenge him would almost certainly be from Spirit Sword Valley.
Chu Feng had absolutely no goodwill toward the people from Spirit Sword Valley.
Spirit Sword Valley and Chu Feng were now mortal enemies. And with Ling Yun’er failing to make it into the top ten, the sect was bound to be even more furious.
"Hahaha, just accept your fate! No matter how much you deny it, in everyone else’s eyes, we’re in this together. You can’t shake it. People simply won’t believe you. Anyway, are you really going to go for the kill this time?" Chu Tianshan said.
"It’s not that I want to kill them; they’re the ones coming to provoke me. If I don’t kill a few of them, they’ll all take me for a pushover. Do they really think I’m that easy to bully?" Chu Feng said coldly.
He would show no mercy to these people. They were the ones who made the first move, even trying to kill his wife. They’d even sworn they wouldn’t let the matter rest. How could Chu Feng possibly tolerate such provocation? It was completely unbearable.
"Don’t be fooled by how high and mighty those people act. That’s only because they’ve never run into someone who’ll fight back. They really think everyone is a pushover. Take Spirit Sword Valley, for instance. They act like they’re invincible, so damn arrogant."
"And those guys from the Snow Sword Sect. They were disrespectful to me the moment we met. I taught them a lesson, but they’re still not satisfied and are plotting revenge. If I don’t teach them a real lesson, do you think they’ll ever learn?"
"Blood Blade Manor, Medicine King Hall, and the Snow Sword Sect... those guys are unbelievable. I had no grudge with any of them, yet they came looking for trouble right from the start. Do they really think I’m good-tempered?" Chu Feng said with a cold glint in his eyes.
This time, it was safe to say his true anger had been stoked. He was furious to his core.
"Pfft, enough of that nonsense. You earned so many Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones this time. Aren’t you going to spare some for the family?" Chu Tianshan said.
He knew Chu Feng had won over two hundred Martial Cultivation Spirit Stones. It was a massive fortune, enough to make anyone drool.
"They’re the ones who insisted on giving them to me. What was I supposed to do?" Chu Feng said. ’Truthfully, I’m a bit reluctant to part with them. This is barely enough for my own use.’
"Heh, you think I don’t know you? You never lift a finger unless there’s something in it for you. You’d never do anything that doesn’t benefit you. I won’t say any more. You’d best know what’s what," Chu Tianshan said.
He wasn’t the least bit worried about someone daring to challenge him. He knew Chu Feng would have to step in and handle it, so he would be perfectly safe.
While the two were talking, a knock came at the door.
"Venerable Chu Feng, it’s me." The voice of a Martial Arts Venerable from the Three Swords Sect rang out.
After opening the door, Chu Feng said, "Venerable from the Three Swords Sect, what can I do for you?"
"I’d like to discuss something with you. Is it convenient for us to come in and talk?" the Three Swords Sect Venerable asked. Another person stood behind him.
Both of them were Martial Arts Venerables from the Three Swords Sect, and they were on fairly good terms with Chu Feng.
"Of course. Please, come in. I was just chatting with my ancestor. Perfect timing, we can all talk together," Chu Feng said with a smile, ushering the two inside.
"Apologies for the intrusion, Brother Chu." Seeing Chu Tianshan, the two Martial Arts Venerables from the Three Swords Sect clasped their fists and spoke respectfully.
"Venerables, please, have a seat," the Chu Family ancestor, Chu Tianshan, said respectfully.
These two Martial Arts Venerables from the Three Swords Sect were by no means weak. In fact, they were incredibly formidable. Moreover, they had both broken through to the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm long before he had.
"What were you two discussing? Was it about the sparring session tomorrow?" one of the Martial Arts Venerables from the Three Swords Sect asked curiously.
"Yes. What else would we be talking about? A lot of people will definitely be coming to cause trouble tomorrow," Chu Feng said without hesitation.
