Chapter 416: A Trip Afterwards

"Heh. Your elder? That's a pretty high rank. But I'm busy. I only have a limited amount of time, and if I'm not back by then, the Seven Kills Sword Master won't let me off easy."

"Besides, the competition is about to end. I can't leave; I have to stay for it," Chu Feng said nonchalantly, making it obvious he didn't want to go.

Su Miaoke, however, clutched Chu Feng's arm, her face tense. She was a little scared of this man.

"I believe you've misunderstood me, Venerable Chu Feng. My senior wishes to invite you for a visit after the competition ends, not right now. If you have the time, Venerable Chu Feng, I would like to formally invite you on a trip to the Southern Border," the man said.

"After the competition? I doubt I'll be free then, either. A lot of people will probably be looking to cause trouble for me by then," Chu Feng said.

"Those guys are no match for you, Venerable Chu Feng," the man said with a smile, showing great confidence in Chu Feng's power.

"You can't be sure about that. But since you put it that way... once the competition is over and I've handled my affairs here, I'll go with you," Chu Feng said.

"Excellent. Thank you for agreeing, Venerable Chu Feng. If you ever need help with anything, just say the word, and my Netherworld Church will act on your behalf," the man said.

"Oh? And you're willing to make enemies of Spirit Sword Valley, the Snow Sword Sect, Snow Mountain, and Blood Blade Manor for me?" Chu Feng asked with a grin.

"Of course. If you need it, Venerable Chu Feng, all it takes is a single word from you. Our Netherworld Sect will give it our all," the man replied, still smiling.

"You people are truly hard to read. Fine, I'll consider it a promise. When the time comes, I'll go with you," Chu Feng said.

"Excellent. Then I will see you again, Venerable Chu Feng." After speaking, the man cupped his fist toward Chu Feng, and his entire body vanished into the night.

Su Miaoke, standing beside him, stared wide-eyed at the spot where he'd been, as if she'd just seen a ghost.

"Darling, was that a person? It wasn't a ghost, was it?" Su Miaoke asked, terrified. She hugged Chu Feng's arm tightly, her fear palpable.

"Don't be afraid. He's a person, not a ghost," Chu Feng said with a comforting smile.

"If he's a person, then how did he just disappear like that? That's so strange!" Su Miaoke said in disbelief. It was too bizarre, almost unthinkable.

Even though Chu Feng had explained, a shiver of fear still lingered deep inside her.

"It's just a special Cultivation Technique. It doesn't have any other real use. Don't worry about it. Let's go back," Chu Feng said.

They had been sitting there all day, and to be honest, it was incredibly boring.

"Don't go back out later. Just wait for me here and get some rest," Chu Feng said.

"Okay, I don't want to get in your way. Just come back soon," Su Miaoke said.

She knew that if she went with him, she'd only be a burden. After all, Chu Feng had made a lot of enemies.

"Mm, don't worry. You be careful here, too. If anything feels wrong, call me immediately. The upcoming matches will likely get bloody, so don't sneak out to watch. I don't want you to get scared," Chu Feng said.

After the main Martial Arts Grand Ceremony is over, there will be more exhibition matches and sparring sessions.

In reality, the ultimate goal was just to flex and show off one's power.

After all, with Martial Arts Sects and Schools and prominent families from all over the country gathered here, it was a perfect opportunity to establish one's might.

"Fine, fine. All you people know is fighting and killing," Su Miaoke said with a sigh of resignation.

"Constant, real combat is the only way to rapidly increase one's strength. The path of a Martial Cultivator is just like that—filled with bloodshed," Chu Feng explained.

"It's impossible to walk the path of the Martial Dao without fighting and killing. You'd never get anywhere."

Some people are truly insane; they live for slaughter, spending nearly their entire lives in a constant state of killing.

'I don't recommend this method, though. If you keep that up, you'll eventually succumb to your inner demons.'

'Of course, all roads lead to Rome. You just have to find the one that suits you. After all, everyone's journey is different.'

'I've gotten this far all on my own, fumbling my way through without any guidance.'

'As for the Celestial Sword Sect Leader, she couldn't teach me much. I only became her disciple for the sake of her Celestial Sword Technique.'

'If not for that, I never would have taken the Celestial Sword Sect Leader as my master.'

'After all, the Celestial Sword Sect Leader had already lost to me. She was no match for me at all.'

'Not to mention, my strength has grown again. I'm leagues stronger than before, but I haven't yet had a chance to test the full extent of my new power.'

'Even the Sect Leader of the Cloud Mist Sect, a master who had undergone the Crossing the Tribulation, would find it nearly impossible to defeat me now. He is no longer a worthy opponent.'

Back in the room, Chu Feng flopped onto the bed and stared at his phone. "If I had any other choice, I wouldn't even bother going," he said.

"You can't do that. You're a Martial Arts Venerable. If you're not there, people will definitely come looking for trouble," Su Miaoke said.
