My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 379: Failed Case
"Let them. I'm not afraid of them," Chu Feng said calmly. "They're just a bunch of pushovers. If any of them dare to provoke me, I'll chop them to pieces!"
He really wasn't afraid of those people.
"We're in the middle of the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony. Try to stay calm and don't be too impulsive," Bai Han said.
'She knew Chu Feng's strength well. He was definitely capable of handling them.'
'Chu Feng could probably wipe the floor with those three good-for-nothings from the Snow Sword Sect all by himself.'
"Yeah, as long as they don't start anything, I won't go looking for trouble," Chu Feng agreed, nodding.
"Oh, right, Senior Sister," Chu Feng added, "I wanted to ask you something. How much do you know about the Cloud Mist Sect?"
"The Cloud Mist Sect? I think I've heard of them," Bai Han said.
"Senior Sister, let's talk over in my room. Is my wife in?" Chu Feng asked.
When he returned to his room, he found the door locked from the inside, so he knocked.
"Who is it?" Su Miaoke's voice came from inside the room.
"It's me, your husband," Chu Feng said.
The door opened quickly, revealing Su Miaoke with a joyful look on her face.
"Honey, you're finally back," Su Miaoke said.
"Yeah, let's talk inside," Chu Feng said.
Following behind him were Jiang Tao and Bai Han.
"Brother Jiang? What are you doing here?" Su Miaoke asked in surprise.
"I just came to see my brother Chu Feng, and you, of course," Jiang Tao said with a smile.
Seeing a familiar face in a foreign land was a uniquely comforting feeling.
It felt like meeting an old friend in a strange land.
"Please, come in and sit down. Senior Sister Bai Han, Brother Jiang, come on in," Su Miaoke said.
"Please, have a seat. I'll go make some tea." Understanding the situation, Su Miaoke went to brew tea for Chu Feng and the others.
"Senior Sister, I won't hide it from you. The reason I left in such a rush was because of the Cloud Mist Sect," Chu Feng said.
"Hmm? Because of the Cloud Mist Sect? Why?" Bai Han asked with a frown.
"The Sect Leader of the Cloud Mist Sect… he was Crossing the Tribulation," Chu Feng said.
"What? How is that possible!" Bai Han was utterly stunned. She couldn't believe it. The woman who was always so composed had suddenly lost her bearing.
"Nothing is impossible. In every generation of the Cloud Mist Sect, one person attempts to Cross the Tribulation. It's just that most people don't know. And what's more, the Cloud Mist Sect's heir is here at the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony," Chu Feng said.
"Did the Cloud Mist Sect's Sect Leader succeed?" Bai Han asked, her voice a mix of shock and anxiety.
It wasn't just her; Su Miaoke and Jiang Tao were equally stunned. Though they didn't understand the full implications, they knew this was a monumental event, and anyone Crossing the Tribulation had to be unbelievably powerful.
"He failed. He's gone—completely obliterated. The Sect Leader of the Cloud Mist Sect was a contemporary of the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor. He once fought the Emperor to a standstill, and he'd lived for hundreds of years. But even so, he failed to Cross the Tribulation," Chu Feng explained.
"What? A contemporary of the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor… alive until now?" Bai Han was beyond shocked.
"What, Senior Sister, you don't believe me? I knew you wouldn't, which is why I have a video. Words can't describe how terrifying the scene was," Chu Feng said.
He then pulled out a video he had recorded on site. Chu Feng had been far away, and the sky was pitch-black, so the footage was difficult to make out.
But it was still enough to prove that someone had, indeed, been Crossing the Tribulation.
By the time they finished watching, their faces were pale with shock.
'Someone was actually Crossing the Tribulation!'
"Well? Convinced now? This is the reason I left. Senior Sister, what do you think?" Chu Feng asked.
"So this is Crossing the Tribulation… This senior from the Cloud Mist Sect was incredibly powerful, even stronger than our own Sect Leader. Yet he only endured until the ninth strike, and he still failed." Shock, and nothing but shock, filled Bai Han's eyes.
She couldn't tear her eyes away from the screen.
"He might have endured the ninth strike, but that's only a third of the way. The power of the Thunder Tribulation only gets stronger from there, so the outcome speaks for itself, doesn't it?" Chu Feng said.
"At that rate, it seems like no one in this world could possibly survive the so-called Celestial Tribulation," Su Miaoke said, equally stunned.
'The sword strikes of the Cloud Mist Sect's Leader were so fierce. You could tell just by looking that his combat strength was terrifying.'
'And yet, even a figure of that caliber failed.'
"At this rate… it's basically a dead end." Bai Han murmured, seeming to be in a trance.
'Because she had reached the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm, she naturally knew about Crossing the Tribulation.'
'Sooner or later, she too would have to face a Celestial Tribulation of this level. When that day came, could she possibly survive it?'
'The Cloud Mist Sect's Leader in the video was an existence who had fought the Heaven-Slaying Sword Emperor to a standstill centuries ago. Just how terrifying must his power have been?'
'And after so many years, his strength would have only grown.'
'And yet, he still failed!'
