My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 377: This Is My Nephew
"What identity?" Jiang Tao asked curiously.
"Besides being the Young Master of the Chu Family, he's also a disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect now!" Jiang Tao's uncle explained.
A disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect?
"But all of that is secondary. Do you know what his other identity is?" Jiang Tao's uncle continued to ask.
Jiang Tao just kept shaking his head. He really didn't know much about any of this.
"He's the Martial Arts Venerable in charge of overseeing this Martial Arts Grand Ceremony," his uncle said as he walked forward.
"A Martial Arts Venerable? Isn't that an incredibly high position?" Jiang Tao asked in shock.
"High? High, my ass! At his age, he's already reached the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm. He's on the same level as our Western Celestial King. Just think about that," said Jiang Tao's uncle.
Hearing this, Jiang Tao was completely stunned.
"What's going on? He... he's not even thirty, and he's already that outrageous?" Jiang Tao swallowed hard, his voice trembling slightly as he asked.
When he first came to attend the Martial Arts Grand Ceremony, he had been so cautious, and Chu Feng had told him to be bold and not to be afraid.
He hadn't taken it to heart, thinking Chu Feng was just trying to comfort him.
'Looks like Chu Feng's status is incredibly high.'
"Of course! Do you know what the Western Celestial King was just talking to him about? If he's willing to join the army in the Western Region, they'll give him the highest position available—the highest position directly under the Western Celestial King. Imagine what kind of rank that is!" his uncle said.
"Holy crap! Isn't that a little too insane? Offering him the highest position right off the bat?" Jiang Tao was completely mind-blown.
If you tried to explain concepts like Martial Arts Venerable or the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm, he'd still be in a bit of a fog. But mentioning the highest position in a regional military unit—that he understood immediately.
A rank like that was simply terrifying!
"Alright, stop spacing out. Let's go. When you're in front of the Western Celestial King, don't you dare lose your composure and embarrass me!" said Jiang Tao's uncle.
"What? We're going to see the Western Celestial King?" Jiang Tao froze.
"Of course! Why else would I bring you here? Venerable Chu Feng and the Western Celestial King are chatting right now, and they'll probably take us to dinner later. So you have to stay calm. Let me ask you one last time: what is your relationship with Venerable Chu Feng?" his uncle pressed.
He was extremely curious about this, unable to understand how the two of them could have possibly crossed paths.
After all, with Chu Feng's power, how could he be so close to a rich man from the secular world?
"My relationship with Brother Chu is great! We often drink together. Oh, right, Uncle. Between you and Brother Chu, who's stronger?" Jiang Tao asked curiously.
"Me? Venerable Chu Feng could probably crush me with one hand," Jiang Tao's uncle said.
He was just a Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivator. Trying to compare himself to someone at the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm was simply asking for death.
Although there were some heaven-defying prodigies who could fight on par with those at the Human Martial Arts Peak Realm while only at the Peak of Foundation Establishment, they were, after all, a tiny minority.
Basically, the vast majority would be completely steamrolled.
Besides, Chu Feng's strength had been proven in battle; the Martial Arts Venerable from the Snow Sword Sect was no match for him.
"Haha, so Brother Chu is that strong! I never would have thought... To think that I, Jiang Tao, would get to meet a Celestial King in my lifetime. I'm really basking in Brother Chu's glory," Jiang Tao said with a laugh.
With everything explained to this point, Jiang Tao would have to be an idiot not to understand.
Back then, the fact that Chu Feng could cure his illness had already proven that he was no ordinary person.
"Alright, remember to watch your words. We're here." After speaking, Jiang Tao's uncle led him through the door.
As soon as they entered, everyone inside turned their gaze toward them.
"Brother Jiang," Chu Feng said with a smile, greeting Jiang Tao.
"Brother Chu, you're actually a Venerable? No, wait, I should call you Venerable Chu Feng now!" Upon seeing the scene, Jiang Tao felt himself starting to stutter, at a complete loss for words.
Although he was an accomplished businessman, a billionaire worth hundreds of billions...
...here, he was just a small fry. Any single person in this room was a major figure who could shake an entire region.
Not to mention they were all from the military—all of them figures who held real power.
"Brother Jiang, cut the nonsense and come have a seat. The Western Celestial King said he's treating us to a meal," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"Jiang He, is this the junior from your family that you mentioned?" the Western Celestial King asked, looking at Jiang Tao with a wide smile.
"Replying to the Celestial King, he is my nephew, a blood relative from the same clan." Jiang Tao's uncle answered, intentionally adding the words "blood relative" to make his point clear.
"Quite good. Everyone, please sit," the Western Celestial King said happily. As he looked at Jiang Tao, he seemed pleased with everything he saw.
Anyone who didn't know better would have thought he was sizing up a future daughter-in-law, which made Jiang Tao's scalp tingle.
After all, everyone present was the kind of person who had killed countless enemies.
Especially the Western Celestial King—there was no telling how many enemies had fallen by his hand.
