My Most Beautiful Fiancée

Chapter 408 407: Seeing Red

  • Next Chapter

Liu Ye Zhen immediately called her husband. "Stop your meeting and get back here now! Otherwise, our daughter is going to elope with a scoundrel!"

Father He exploded when he heard. "What the hell? Who dares to touch my daughter? I'll kill him! I'm coming back right now!"

Liu Ye Zhen hung up and called her younger sister.

Madam Qiao answered the call and laughed cheerfully. "Sister, have you met Mu Lin? Isn't he great? Let me tell you, he's the most promising young man around right now. If my own child were already born, I wouldn't be giving this opportunity to you!"

Liu Ye Zhen's tone was heavy. "Little sister, I think that boy has you thoroughly fooled. Be careful when you deal with Mu Lin from now on. You can use him, but don't get too close."

Madam Qiao was stunned. How could her own sister say something so heartless?

"Sister, that's such a hurtful thing to say. I wouldn't dare say something like that to Mu Lin. He's an honest and decent kid. How can you make such a baseless accusation!"

"Little sister, I'm doing this for your own good. I'm a very good judge of character, and Mu Lin is definitely not someone you can entrust your life to."

Madam Qiao wasn't happy either. "Sister, you always say you have a good eye for people, so how come you didn't see what Qiao Canhua was capable of achieving?"

This left Liu Ye Zhen completely speechless.

"Little sister, I'm trying to help you, not hurt you! If you refuse to listen, you'll be the one to suffer later."

Madam Qiao was upset. "Sister, you've gone too far. If I had a daughter like Zhengzheng, I would do everything in my power to marry her to him."

With that, she slammed the phone down.

Mu Lin had no idea that a fierce argument had erupted between the He and Qiao families, all because of him.

He was even more clueless about how much Liu Ye Zhen looked down on him.

He was on his way back to the Qiao Family Villa.

Just then, he received a call. It was from Meng Fang of the Patrol Team.

Meng Fang said, "Mr. Mu, are you free?"

Mu Lin replied, "I'm free enough, but what's this about?"

'I should find out what he wants before I decide whether to refuse.'

Meng Fang said, "Mr. Xiao wants to see you to thank you in person. Is now a good time?"

Mu Lin was completely baffled. 'Mr. Xiao? Who's that?'

He racked his brain for a moment before remembering that he had saved a certain Xiao Hongling at Celestial Dragon Temple.

Her father was the richest man in Nanjiang Province.

"The richest man in Nanjiang Province?"

Meng Fang nodded. "That's the one! He wants to thank you in person and treat you to a meal!"

Thinking about how he had just been berated, Mu Lin felt the world was a truly crazy place.

"Fine, I'll see him."

Mu Lin was nonchalant, but he was really doing this for Meng Fang's sake, to save him from an awkward position.

"Great, great! I'll report back to Mr. Xiao immediately!"

Meng Fang told Mu Lin the name and address of the hotel.

It was the best hotel in Lanyang, Lanfeng International, a five-star flagship.

He got out of the car and headed upstairs at a brisk pace. He didn't want to make a bad impression on Boss Xiao by being late.

Halfway there, two people walked toward him.

The father and son, Sun Tianwei and Sun Yicheng.

When Sun Yicheng saw Mu Lin, his eyes immediately reddened with anger.

This was a perfect example of enemies seeing red when they meet.

A few days ago, Sun Yicheng had tried to forcibly take Su Nuan away, but Mu Lin stopped him. Sun Yicheng then quickly called for Sun Tianwei, but Sun Tianwei was immediately subdued by Luo Wanqing.

In the end, Sun Tianwei, unable to swallow his anger, had hired He Zongshan to get rid of Mu Lin, only for Mu Lin to turn the tables and gain control over He Zongshan instead.

He Zongshan had originally considered dealing with the Sun Family father and son to show his loyalty to Mu Lin, but after a little thought, he decided against it.

First, they had all worked for Elder Deng in the past, so they were more or less on the same side. Attacking each other could lead to unforeseen disasters.

On the other hand, he had discovered that Mu Lin wasn't a vengeful person; he might not appreciate that kind of retaliation.

If it ended up angering Mu Lin instead, then there would be no point.

Finally, his mother's illness had taken up all his energy, forcing He Zongshan to abandon any plans against Sun Tianwei and his son.

Sun Tianwei looked Mu Lin up and down, his heart filled with rage. "Kid, I bet you don't know that Luo Wanqing is finished. Hidden Sword Manor has been razed to the ground. From now on, no one will be there to protect you!"

Mu Lin chuckled. "Is that so? Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourselves. If Luo Wanqing hadn't stepped in to stop you, I would have crippled at least one of you—more likely both."

"In a way, Luo Wanqing was your savior, you know?"

Sun Tianwei didn't take Mu Lin's words seriously at all. After clawing his way through the Jianghu for so many years, what was there to be afraid of?

To him, Mu Lin's words had no bite.

"You're too arrogant. Don't you know that will only lead to tragedy?"

Mu Lin said, "I don't have time for you right now. I'll give you one piece of advice: stop provoking me. Otherwise, I will make sure the Sun Family falls apart and becomes one of the weakest powers in Lanyang City."

"I won't destroy you. I'll just make you feel the deep despair of having once had everything, only to lose it forever. And all you have to do to avoid that despair is not target me."

'What kind of bullshit is this?' Sun Yicheng was furious. He pointed at Mu Lin and cursed, "You talk big, but do you have any idea what kind of backing the Sun Family has? We're one of the top family clans in Lanyang City, inextricably linked with the city's entire power structure. You think you can make us fall just by saying so?"

Mu Lin tilted his head. "So what you're saying is, you want to fight me? Here and now? In that case, I don't have to hold back. Settling this once and for all isn't a bad idea."

Sun Tianwei gave a sinister laugh. "It's for the best if you're willing to walk to your own death! Saves me the trouble of forcing you!"

At that moment, a figure emerged from the direction of the restrooms. He was a sturdy, middle-aged man who looked incredibly boorish.

Sun Tianwei pointed at Mu Lin and said angrily, "Grandmaster Wu, this is the scoundrel I told you about yesterday! He injured my son, and now he's threatening to cripple both of us and make it so the Sun Family can never rise in Lanyang again!"

Grandmaster Wu turned to look at Mu Lin, sizing him up before sneering, "You haven't even finished puberty and you're already trying to talk tough like the adults. What other tricks have you got? Show me!"

Sun Yicheng chimed in, "Grandmaster Wu, you should be careful. This guy's skills are really strange. Even He Zongshan was defeated by him!"

Grandmaster Wu burst out laughing. "He Zongshan, you say? Don't you know his strength is at the very bottom? It's perfectly normal for him to get beaten. Wiping him off the map would be a piece of cake."

"I could take on ten guys like He Zongshan!"

Sun Tianwei was ecstatic. After a moment of calculation, he said, "Grandmaster Wu, help me kill him, and I'll pay you twenty million!"

Grandmaster Wu's face stiffened, then broke into a look of sheer ecstasy. "Really?"

"Absolutely!"

"Alright then, just you wait!" Grandmaster Wu strode smugly toward Mu Lin.

The man's hands swayed in the air, and his body began to rock slowly in a certain rhythm.

'What... what is this?'

Mu Lin's eyes lit up. "Celestial Crane Fist!"

"Hmph. So you have some sense after all," Grandmaster Wu said coldly.

Mu Lin immediately took half a step back, readying himself for the attack.

The Celestial Crane Fist packed a serious punch; it had been a real hassle for him to deal with in the past.

Grandmaster Wu's expression changed drastically as he spat out a huge mouthful of blood.

Mu Lin said coolly, "I didn't expect you to have so many tricks up your sleeve."

Grandmaster Wu struggled to compose himself.

It was simply outrageous.

"You're at the Peak of Grandmaster!" Grandmaster Wu cried out miserably. He was in utter despair now.

Mu Lin was too young, unreasonably so. Heaven only knew what kind of monster he was.

Mu Lin laughed, took a casual step forward, and threw a straight punch.

The punch generated a powerful gust of wind that shot toward Grandmaster Wu.

The color drained from Grandmaster Wu's face.

"Externalizing your energy! You can even do that!"

'What is he doing with this move?'

But Mu Lin just smiled. "I already said I'm a Grandmaster. It'd be stranger if I couldn't do this!"
