My Most Beautiful Fiancée
Chapter 356 355: The Manor Master is Abducted
Because he was backed by a mysterious figure, He Zongshan had become one of the most untouchable people around.
Mu Lin mulled it over. On the surface, there were very few Grandmasters in Nanjiang Province—only two or three.
But Nanjiang Province had a huge population of over forty million. Theoretically, it was impossible for there to be so few.
Clearly, many were kept hidden by large organizations, saved as a final trump card.
So, whether this He Zongshan was a Grandmaster-level Martial Artist was a major question mark.
Mu Lin personally hoped he wasn't a Grandmaster, but the world doesn't bend to one's will.
What is, is. No matter how much you wished it weren't so, if it was true, you just had to accept reality.
Mu Lin thought for a moment and decided to consult an expert: Luo Wanqing.
He gave her a call.
Luo Wanqing was feeling disappointed that Mu Lin had left without staying the night. Seeing his name pop up on her phone, her heart leaped with hope.
'He's not coming back after taking Su Nuan home, is he? Then it would be just the two of us. Wouldn't that be wonderful?'
"Mr. Mu, why are you calling me again? Did you miss me?" Luo Wanqing said.
"Stop joking around," Mu Lin said. "Something's happened."
His words instantly made Luo Wanqing worried. "What do you mean, something's happened?"
"Someone from the Golden Dragon Association attacked Su Nuan's home and severely injured her brother, but I think they were really after me."
"I think I need to do something about the Golden Dragon Association. Otherwise, things are going to get ugly."
Luo Wanqing grew anxious. "Mr. Mu, calm down! The Golden Dragon Association's background isn't that simple. If you act rashly, you could spark a major conflict! Besides, He Zongshan is a high-level Grandmaster. If he makes a move, I'm afraid you won't be able to handle him!"
Mu Lin frowned. That was news to him.
But it confirmed his suspicions: He Zongshan really was a Grandmaster-level expert.
'He'll be tough to deal with,' he thought.
"I think we should try to talk things out. How about this? I'll call He Zongshan, and we can lay everything on the table and discuss it calmly. We can probably resolve it that way, don't you think?"
"If you want to try, go ahead," Mu Lin said. "But I doubt he'll be receptive."
"We still have to try," Luo Wanqing said. "No one just waits for disaster to strike! Except for villains."
Mu Lin nodded. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Miss Luo."
Luo Wanqing replied nervously, "No trouble, no trouble at all! It's the least I can do!"
Luo Wanqing put down her phone and mentally rehearsed what she would say, deciding to make the call soon.
But before she could dial, a commotion erupted outside her door.
"Stop! This is the manor grounds! You can't just wander around!"
After a loud THUD, there was the sound of a sack of potatoes hitting the floor.
Luo Wanqing found this very strange. She got up to look, just as a guard stepped out. "Who are you people?"
"Get lost, you impostor! The one I'm looking for is Luo Wanqing!"
The intruders actually knew who they were looking for. Realizing she could no longer hide, Luo Wanqing hurried outside.
"Why are you looking for me? Who are you?"
"Luo Wanqing, Mr. Feng is looking for you."
The corner of Luo Wanqing's mouth twitched. She had a bad feeling, but she maintained her composure and smiled. "What's my relationship with Mr. Feng? He could have just called me. Why make such a scene?"
"Because you've grown bold and wouldn't go with Mr. Feng willingly! Isn't your recent behavior proof enough?"
As he spoke, a middle-aged man charged straight for Luo Wanqing.
Luo Wanqing tried to summon her Inner Strength to defend herself, but before she was fully prepared, she took a heavy punch.
The force of the blow was too much for an expert of her level—Late-stage Internal Strength—to withstand. She convulsed in pain as she was dragged away.
Mu Lin was waiting for news from Luo Wanqing, but when he heard nothing, he grew wary.
'Something must have happened,' he thought.
Mu Lin said, "Wait here. I'm going to find that He Zongshan."
Su Nuan's heart trembled. "Mu Lin, please don't go! If we offend He Zongshan, my brother and I won't be able to survive in Lanyang!"
"Why not?" Mu Lin said. "If you can't survive here, I'll take you to Anhua. It's all the same."
With that, Mu Lin left.
His method for finding He Zongshan was simple: find the biggest nightclub in the area and interrogate the management. He was bound to get some information.
"Spare me, hero! Spare me!" the manager pleaded in agony.
"Then take me to He Zongshan," Mu Lin said. "Or you can die in his place."
The manager had no choice but to lead Mu Lin forward.
The manager led Mu Lin upstairs. He Zongshan was right there.
It proved Mu Lin's judgment was correct—just go for the biggest.
He Zongshan hated the dim environment of the nightclub, so he had a suite installed upstairs where he lived and worked. Compared to the noisy chaos below, this place was like a lotus rising from the mud—unstained.
He had just finished with a few girls and was lying on the bed, spacing out, thinking how great life was.
He lit a cigarette, blowing out clouds of smoke, and wondered if he should go for another round.
Just as he was thinking this, there was a knock on the door.
He said irritably, "What is it? I said not to disturb me!"
"Boss, someone's causing a ruckus downstairs! He's incredibly strong! All the Golden Dragon Association's experts combined couldn't take him down!"
Anger flashed in He Zongshan's eyes. Someone was causing trouble on his turf? 'Does this person have a death wish?'
He had no idea who this character was, but He Zongshan figured he'd have to teach the guy a lesson.
"Bring him to VIP Room 3," He Zongshan said. "I'll be right there."
No matter who this person was, if he dared to cause trouble on the Golden Dragon Association's territory, He Zongshan was confident he could ensure the man would never leave.
Downstairs, Mu Lin was lounging on a sofa with one leg crossed over the other, side-eying a Peak of Grandmaster expert. This man was Fan Ding, the Vice-Chairman of the Golden Dragon Association.
Fan Ding stood there, his expression grim, but he didn't dare to move.
It would be all too easy for Mu Lin to crush him.
Because of this, he had to be extremely careful. He didn't dare do anything to provoke Mu Lin.
The nightclub's patrons and hostesses had long since been cleared out, leaving only the security guards.
The guards had witnessed Mu Lin's incredible display of power and regarded him as a god. They didn't dare to defy him, let alone try to kick him out.
Even when Fan Ding himself had made a move, he hadn't lasted a single exchange against Mu Lin.
Mu Lin pointed at Fan Ding, then gestured lightly toward the floor.
"Kneel. Aren't you embarrassed just standing there?"
'Wouldn't kneeling be even more embarrassing?' Fan Ding thought. 'This guy is a complete lunatic.' He said coldly, "You may be strong, but don't get too arrogant. When Chairman He gets here, you'll be sorry."
Mu Lin lifted his leg and kicked Fan Ding's ankle. Fan Ding's leg buckled, and he collapsed to his knees.
"See? Isn't that better?"
Looking at Fan Ding like this, Mu Lin felt much more satisfied.
"That's some nerve, causing trouble on my turf. Have you thought about the consequences?"
Mu Lin looked toward the source of the voice. A middle-aged man was striding toward him, radiating an imposing aura.
"You must be He Zongshan."
"That's right. What of it? What do you have to say?"
"Why did you go after Zhu Tong and Su Nuan?" Mu Lin asked. "Isn't this whole criminal underworld big enough for you to play in?"
Hearing those two names, He Zongshan immediately remembered. "You're Mu Lin!"
Seeing his reaction, Mu Lin understood at once. Zhu Tong and Su Nuan were just collateral damage. He was the real target.
"So they were after me, right? I was holding back before, trying to give you a chance. Looks like I wasn't wrong to fight you—my only mistake was going too easy."
He Zongshan was stunned. "What about Qiu Baihu? Didn't he find you?"
"That piece of rubber gum?" Mu Lin said. "I killed him."
He Zongshan's gaze grew even more solemn. "You're a Grandmaster too, aren't you? So strong that you don't give a damn about me."
"It makes sense, I suppose. If you were just some nobody, how would you dare come to my turf and make a scene? But making a scene like this isn't without a price. And that price is your life!"
He Zongshan suddenly threw a punch at Mu Lin, who swiftly dodged it.
