My Most Beautiful Fiancée
Chapter 353 352: Endless Entanglement
The bodyguard's scream startled Sun Yicheng. He knew he'd run into a tough customer this time. He quickly got up, intending to flip the table and use the chaos to escape.
But just then, Mu Lin pressed down lightly, stopping the table. The dishes on top jumped from the impact, shattering. The food was all mixed together, obviously inedible.
Mu Lin then violently flipped the tabletop, sending the round table flying straight at Sun Yicheng and slamming down hard on his back.
Sun Yicheng was pinned, unable to move. The pressure on his stomach made him feel like he was about to vomit his guts out.
Several people burst in from outside—security guards and the hotel manager.
They were stunned by the chaotic scene inside the private room, all wondering what on earth had happened.
Then they saw Sun Yicheng, pinned to the floor.
Sun Yicheng was a young master of the Sun Family! How could he be treated like this? The manager freaked out on the spot.
"Young Master Sun!" The manager rushed over and had the security guards lift the table. He then struggled to help Sun Yicheng up. Sun Yicheng used all his strength to stand, his vision already dark and hazy.
"Young Master Sun, are you alright? Don't scare me like this!" the manager cried out in fear.
Sun Yicheng shook his head. "I'm still alive, but I feel half-dead. These guys are vicious. How could they do this?"
Sun Yicheng was just about to get clear when Mu Lin slammed his foot onto the tabletop. The board was instantly pressed back down, smashing onto Sun Yicheng's back again and even making the webbing between the security guards' thumbs and forefingers split and bleed from the shock.
Seeing this, the furious security guards charged forward to confront Mu Lin.
Mu Lin kicked them one by one, sending them flying three or four meters.
'They're all newbs. So weak. It's almost too easy.'
"Anyone moves again, and I'll make sure they can't move ever again."
The hotel manager's face changed drastically. But in business, harmony breeds wealth, so he tried to calm down and forced a smile.
"Sir, I'm the hotel manager. My surname is Yao. Young Master Sun is from the Sun Family, which is a major family in our city. They're incredibly powerful. Going against him is like going against yourself."
Mu Lin said, "That's quite the threat. Since I was willing to do this in the first place, I'm well aware of the consequences. You don't need to worry about me."
With that, he took out his phone. He stared at his contact list, lost in thought.
'Is there anyone who can help with this?'
Taking a closer look, he saw a name. 'Isn't Luo Wanqing from around here?' He hurriedly made the call.
"Mr. Mu? What's made you suddenly think of calling me?"
Mu Lin said, "You're a local here, right?"
Luo Wanqing replied, "That's right. What's wrong?"
Mu Lin said, "I just roughed up the young master of the Sun Family. How should I clean this up?"
Luo Wanqing said, "Mr. Mu, you're in Lanyang? Why didn't you tell me?"
Mu Lin said calmly, "What was there to say? It was for a reason. I didn't come here by choice."
Luo Wanqing was speechless for a moment. "Alright then. Why don't you come over to the manor for a bit? I know the lay of the land here. If something's up, I can help you out!"
Mu Lin said, "I'm a bit busy over here. How am I supposed to get to the manor? I'm asking you for the procedure here. I've injured the young master of the Sun Family. What's the process?"
"Are you thinking of killing him and dumping the body in the wilderness, or chopping him into eight pieces and sending him back to the Sun Family? Should my people handle it for you?"
Mu Lin was silent for a moment. "What do you mean? Is this guy a complete nobody?"
"In Lanyang, you could step on the gas and run over two or three of these rich second-generation brats by accident. Don't worry about it. You can do whatever you want with him."
"Where are you? Since you can't come over, I'll come to you."
There was no point in being coy, so Mu Lin gave her the address.
"I'll be right there."
Mu Lin was only halfway through his call, but the hotel manager's face was already a mask of terror.
The implications of Mu Lin's call were terrifying. Manor Master... and in Lanyang...
Didn't that have to mean Hidden Sword Manor?
He remembered the scar-faced man from Hidden Sword Manor. The guy was a terrifying, ferocious brute, the kind who could scare the piss out of you with just a look.
Mu Lin's relationship with this Manor Master sounded anything but ordinary, and hearing it made the manager tremble all over.
On one side was the Sun Family, on the other, Hidden Sword Manor. He couldn't afford to offend either.
He was like a mouse in a bellows—squeezed from both sides and completely helpless.
Mu Lin snapped his fingers at the manager. "Do me a favor. Call his old man and tell him to get over here."
The manager was genuinely terrified, but at a time like this, there was nothing he could do.
Su Nuan was completely lost. What in the world was going on to cause such a huge commotion? For a moment, she had no idea what was happening.
Mu Lin seemed to have some powerful connections and said he was calling someone over.
She didn't know who this "someone" was, or what they could do.
'I don't get it.'
A short while later, a middle-aged man who looked a bit like Sun Yicheng came in.
This was Sun Yicheng's father, the Sun Family Patriarch, Sun Tianwei—a man respectfully addressed as Patriarch Sun by everyone for miles around.
Sun Tianwei strode into the private room, his eyes immediately landing on Mu Lin.
"I saw you at Hidden Sword Manor last time! You're Mu Lin, right? You raised quite a ruckus back then!"
Mu Lin glanced at Sun Tianwei, his expression still calm.
"Yes, that's me. But I don't know you."
Sun Tianwei was so angry he looked up at the ceiling, on the verge of cursing.
"I don't give a damn if you know me or not! I'm warning you, you laid a hand on my son, so now you're my mortal enemy! I will not rest until one of us is dead!"
Mu Lin tilted his head. "Your son has done plenty of disgusting things, angering both heaven and the people. Me teaching him a lesson will only make everyone happy!"
Sun Tianwei said, "He's my son, Sun Tianwei's son! His lawlessness is a privilege I gave him! What business is it of yours to meddle? Neither of you are leaving tonight! I'll kill you both!"
"Sun Tianwei, you've got some nerve!" A deep voice cut in. Hearing his own name spoken in that tone, Sun Tianwei couldn't help but shudder.
The voice was filled with authority and a terrifying aura.
'Why is this happening?'
He turned his head and saw a burly, dark-skinned, middle-aged man walking over. He was a full two meters tall, with a scar on his face.
Sun Tianwei couldn't stop his body from trembling. "Sword Concealment Manor Master..."
The feeling he gave off was incredibly powerful.
Sun Tianwei couldn't help but wonder, 'What is the Sword Concealment Manor Master doing here?'
'Is there something here that requires his attention?'
When Mu Lin saw this man, he knew it was Luo Wanqing's public stand-in. His actual identity was her head bodyguard, whose family had served Hidden Sword Manor for generations.
Luo Wanqing was beside him, dressed discreetly in a dark suit, following him like a junior assistant.
Although her attire was understated, it couldn't hide her beauty. The moment she entered, the entire private room seemed to brighten.
It was clear they were well-practiced in this double act.
"Sun Tianwei, take your idiot son and get lost," Luo Wanqing snapped.
Seeing this assistant-like woman dare to curse at him, Sun Tianwei's anger flared.
"You little bitch, you have a death wish, don't you? Daring to talk to me like that?"
Suddenly, the longsword at the two-meter-tall man's waist flashed, and a lock of hair from Sun Tianwei's forehead vanished into thin air.
This...
He was completely dumbfounded. 'They can actually do that?'
Seventy to eighty percent of Sun Tianwei's bluster vanished in an instant, leaving him to do nothing but tremble.
"This is your final warning. If you persist in your foolishness, not a single head in the Sun Family will be safe!!"
Sun Tianwei was too terrified to say anything more.
The scale of their Sun Family wasn't that much smaller than Hidden Sword Manor's. Even when comparing the number of master retainers, they could barely manage a draw.
Logically, they shouldn't be afraid of Hidden Sword Manor.
But Hidden Sword Manor's backer was someone they had to be wary of—a top-tier family from Di Yang City that they could not afford to offend.
If they went too far against Hidden Sword Manor, they might provoke a true behemoth. When that happened, their entire family would pay a heavy price.
As the Patriarch of the Sun Family, he couldn't bear that level of loss. He had to act cautiously; if things looked bad, he absolutely had to be careful.
'Endure, endure, endure! A little impatience can spoil a great plan!'
"Sword Concealment Manor Master, we'll talk about this later," Sun Tianwei spat out, then grabbed his son, who was like a dead dog, and headed for the exit.
"Wait!" Mu Lin suddenly called out.
This made Sun Tianwei freeze in terror.
"If your son ever harasses my friend again, I'll cripple all of you."
Sun Tianwei nodded repeatedly. "Yes! Yes!"
Then he fled as if his life depended on it.
