Mu Lin said, "This man loves using his network to blacklist anyone he doesn't like. I think it's time he got a taste of his own medicine. Use every resource Zongguang Group has to blacklist him. Even if he ends up as a dishwasher, don't let him live in peace."

"And another thing—he has a nephew named Yu Xianhua, right? Deal with him too. Don't wait until tomorrow. The sight of him annoys me."

Chu Chaoxiong agreed without a moment's hesitation and hurried off to get it done.

Mu Lin put his phone away, and Li Li piped up, "That looked pretty convincing, but do you take us for fools? You think we can't see through a simple act like that?"

"You just held up your phone and spouted some nonsense to a random number, didn't you? It wasn't 10086, was it?"

Everyone roared with laughter. 10086 is the mobile carrier's service hotline; it's an automated system with no one on the other end. But the phone screen still goes dark as if you're on a real call, which can be deceiving.

Mu Lin said, "It wasn't."

"Then let me see your phone!"

"No!"

Mu Lin's refusal was firm and absolute.

"You're just a fraud!" Li Li said, straightening her back disdainfully.

"Xue Xi, you're really not picky, are you? Choosing a man who's all talk. He doesn't even have the guts to own up to his act. He's a fraud through and through!"

Mu Lin turned a deaf ear to her insults. He and Xue Xi weren't that close, so Li Li's vicious words couldn't affect him in the slightest.

Xue Xi asked, "Mu Lin, who did you just call? Aren't you troubling them too much?"

Mu Lin said, "Chu Chaoxiong."

Xue Xi blinked. "You mean *the* Chu Chaoxiong? The one who's number two on the rich list? How do you have his contact information?"

Mu Lin replied simply, "He gave it to me."

'So... asking was completely pointless.' Xue Xi was exasperated, but there was nothing she could do.

Lv Fangfei said, "The boss of Zongguang Group is Wang Zuguang. What does that have to do with Chu Chaoxiong? How could calling Chu Chaoxiong affect matters at Zongguang Group?"

Mu Lin said, "Zongguang Group changed owners. You haven't heard such big news?"

Xue Xi and Lv Fangfei exchanged a look, momentarily at a loss for words.

They quickly pulled up the local news on their phones and were shocked to find that what Mu Lin said was true.

The person in actual control of Zongguang Group was now Chu Chaoxiong.

However, the news had been out for a few hours. It was entirely possible that Mu Lin had seen the news and then concocted this tall tale. That explanation was perfectly reasonable.

So, while Xue Xi was convinced, Lv Fangfei remained skeptical. She was about to press him with more questions when Yu Xianhua's phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was a call from his uncle, Yu Wenxi.

His heart hammered in his chest, and he felt a surge of anxiety.

"Uncle!"

"You dumbass! What the hell did you do? You got me fired from Zongguang Group!"

Huh?! Yu Xianhua was completely shocked. 'His uncle's position was totally secure, how could he suddenly get fired?'

"Uncle, you've got to be kidding. Didn't you just renew your contract? You should have had that position for at least another five years!"

Yu Wenxi shot back, "Cut the crap! I've been fired! And it's all because of you, you idiot! Years of my hard work have gone up in smoke!"

But Yu Xianhua looked completely unfazed. "Come on, Uncle, it's not the end of the world. With your connections, you can just find an executive position somewhere else, can't you?"

Yu Wenxi roared, "Fuck off! Don't even talk to me about that! I've been blacklisted by Zongguang Group! I couldn't get a job as a dishwasher in another city now! This is all because of you! Because of you!"

Yu Wenxi was shouting so loudly that Yu Xianhua's ears hurt. He hastily pulled the phone away from his head.

The furious shouting was so loud that it could be heard clearly from the phone's earpiece by everyone nearby.

Li Li started to panic. If even Yu Xianhua's uncle was finished, what would happen to the rest of them?

'Why is this happening? How am I supposed to know what's going to happen to me?'

'This whole thing is a complete mess. Who knows what to do?'

'All I know is, I'm in big trouble, and I need a solution right here, right now.'

Yu Xianhua's legs gave out, and he collapsed to his knees. Only heaven knew how shocked he was.

He was terrified. In his eyes, Mu Lin now seemed like a terrifying demon god who held his destiny in his hands.

The call ended. Before Yu Xianhua could recover, his boss called.

"Boss, it's me, Yu Xianhua!"

"You're fired. Don't bother coming in tomorrow. HR will mail you the paperwork once everything is processed."

Yu Xianhua said frantically, "Boss, please, no! My uncle is the personnel director at Zongguang Group! Can't you, for his sake..."

"To hell with that! Your uncle is already finished, you think I don't know? You know damn well all the shady shit you've pulled. If I hadn't kept my hands clean, I'd probably be going down with you!"

"I got a do-or-die call from corporate in the middle of the night! Do you have any idea how terrifying that was?"

"I have evidence of what you've done. Tomorrow, I'm turning it all over to the Government. You're on your own now!"

Yu Xianhua was too scared to say a word. He turned his eyes to Mu Lin, desperately crawled over to his side, and cried out:

"Sir... have mercy! I was wrong, I was really wrong! Please forgive me!"

Mu Lin just gave a cold smile and said nothing.

Xue Xi was stunned. 'Even a big shot on the level of Anhua's richest man has to obey Mu Lin's orders? This is terrifying.'

Mu Lin turned to Xue Xi. "Xue Xi, are you satisfied now?"

Xue Xi thought for a moment. "No..."

Her words scared Yu Xianhua so much that he immediately began kowtowing to her, banging his head on the floor until his forehead was bloody and a small pool formed on the ground.

Xue Xi couldn't bear to watch any longer. "Alright, that's enough," she said. "I wasn't harmed in any way, so let's just let this go. And don't send Yu Xianhua to jail. If word gets out, it will reflect poorly on our other classmates."

Mu Lin said, "Alright."

He then looked at Yu Xianhua. "Apologize to Lv Fangfei."

Yu Xianhua scrambled over to Lv Fangfei to beg for her forgiveness.

Seeing this, Lv Fangfei said nothing, showing no intention of forgiving Yu Xianhua.

The classmates were dumbfounded. They had expected some drama tonight, but they never imagined it would be on this level.

"Get lost. Kneeling here is a disgrace. Have you no sense of shame?" Mu Lin said, glaring at Yu Xianhua.

Yu Xianhua nodded frantically. "Yes! Yes!"

He scrambled up, turned, and scurried away, disappearing from everyone's view. It was a panicked retreat.

To think that the banquet he had spent so much money on would end like this was truly a difficult pill for him to swallow.

But for him, there was no choice but to accept it.

Li Li's face was grim. She had already struck a deal with Yu Xianhua: she would help him at the banquet in exchange for a promising future.

But she never, ever expected Yu Xianhua to be completely ruined.

That meant her entire plan was useless.

She forced an awkward smile. "Oh my, I never expected things to turn out this way. That Yu Xianhua, honestly, how could he do something like that?"

Mu Lin's eyes met Li Li's. The glance was enough to make Li Li tremble in fear. Her legs went weak, and she collapsed to her knees in front of Mu Lin and Xue Xi.

"I was wrong, I was wrong!"

Mu Lin's face was stern and imposing. "Stay away from Xue Xi from now on. If you ever dare to conspire against her with someone else again, the consequences will be severe. I can't guarantee you'll survive."

"Yes, yes, yes! I may have schemed against Xue Xi, but we're still best friends! Besides, Yu Xianhua seemed like such a good match for her. How could I have been trying to harm her!"

Li Li tried to argue her case further, but Mu Lin's gaze suddenly turned ice-cold.

Terrified, Li Li scrambled to her feet and bolted as if her life depended on it.

The banquet hadn't even officially started, and two people were already gone from the hall.

It was the first time Xue Xi had ever been given so much face, and she greeted her classmates with a radiant, flushed smile.

Just then, Lao Wang came by on his rounds. Mu Lin shot him a look, signaling for him to hurry up and have the food served.

Lao Wang gave a subtle nod and promptly instructed the servers to bring out the dishes.

Everyone enjoyed the magnificent feast, and a good time was had by all.
