My Most Beautiful Fiancée
Chapter 315 314: Sorting Everyone Out
'Can I even say no?' Ye Chunshui thought. 'Obviously not.' She nodded quickly. "I trust you!"
With that, she closed the bathroom door herself.
Mu Lin smiled faintly, calmly turning his gaze to the men who were clamoring for a fight.
'Every last one of them is too weak.'
'Their pectoral muscles were all pumped up with steroids. They have the bulk, but none of the strength.'
All of them were holding steel pipes, looking incredibly menacing.
Mu Lin pursed his lips, effortlessly dodging wave after wave of attacks.
The moment their assault paused, Mu Lin launched his own swift offensive.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Fists collided violently with muscle. These burly brutes couldn't even take one of Mu Lin's simple punches, collapsing with ridiculous ease.
"Aaargh..."
In an instant, the floor was covered with men rolling around in agony.
Hua Hai was dumbfounded. 'How could this be...'
'These were his elites, the ones he always saved for last to deliver the final blow.'
'If all of them were taken down, he'd truly have no one left.'
Young Master Xie's mouth fell open. "You're a Martial Artist?"
Mu Lin replied, "Isn't that obvious?"
"I mean, are you an Inner Strength Powerhouse!" Young Master Xie's tone grew much more solemn, and he didn't dare act so arrogantly anymore.
He was worldly and well-traveled. Being from a rich family, he had naturally dabbled in many things, and this was the area he knew most about.
The two bodyguards he kept with him at all times were Early-stage Internal Strength experts, and it had taken him considerable effort to recruit them.
The fact that he always had them with him showed just how highly he valued them.
Mu Lin shot Young Master Xie a sideways glance, said nothing, and turned to let Ye Chunshui out.
For a pampered young lady like Ye Chunshui, being cooped up in a bathroom was unbearable.
Ye Chunshui came out and took a deep breath of fresh air. The smell inside had been truly unbearable.
She looked at the scene around her, her jaw dropping in astonishment.
The floor was covered with injured toughs. They were all beefy and looked like people you shouldn't mess with, but now they were lying obediently on the ground, completely unable to move.
Her sense of security skyrocketed. 'That Li Xue really has no taste,' she thought.
'How could she ever have thought Mu Lin was a wimp? He couldn't possibly be any more of a man, could he?'
Young Master Xie said coldly, "You dare interfere in my, Xie Chaoqun's, business? Do you really have a death wish?"
Mu Lin found this hilarious. "Death? You can't even land a single punch on me, and you think you can kill me? That's ridiculous."
Xie Chaoqun said coldly, "I am from the Di Yang Xie Family. My family's resources are immense. Even the Zhou Family of your Anhua has to be polite to us. Where did you get the nerve to provoke me? You may have won this round, that's true, but it won't be long before you're kneeling at my feet, begging for my forgiveness!"
A trace of mockery flickered across Mu Lin's lips. He raised his hand and slapped Xie Chaoqun across the face.
SLAP!
Xie Chaoqun was seeing stars from the blow. 'Who the hell does something like this?'
Xie Chaoqun was stunned. "You dare do something like this? Do you have any idea who I am?"
Mu Lin raised his hand and slapped him again, this time harder and more viciously than the last. Xie Chaoqun was so furious he trembled all over, unable to take it.
"I don't give a damn who you are. I've dealt with families in Di Yang far more powerful than yours, let alone you!" Mu Lin was utterly fearless. He felt particularly refreshed after the slaps and spoke in a cold voice.
'Are all the scions of prominent families like this? Can't I meet a few sensible ones?'
'I'm not asking for someone as poised, virtuous, and generous as Lin Shishi. I just want someone with a bit of common sense like Zhou Ying, someone who won't act like a fool.'
'Unfortunately, even a hope like that was just wishful thinking.'
Hua Hai looked on, his eyes about to pop out of his head. He pointed at Mu Lin and berated him, "You dare hit Young Master Xie? Can you bear the consequences?"
Mu Lin tilted his head. "I really wouldn't know. But does it matter? The only consequence I see is that his face is swollen."
Seeing that Mu Lin couldn't care less, Hua Hai was so angry he felt his lungs might explode.
"Just you wait! You're dead!" Hua Hai yelled.
But Mu Lin was perfectly calm. "I'll still be here long after you're dead."
With a casual kick, he sent Hua Hai flying.
Hua Hai went tumbling into a wall before finally landing on the pile of thugs. Luckily, they cushioned his fall, otherwise he would have been deader than dead.
Mu Lin turned and looked down at Xie Chaoqun with disdain. "No matter who you are, you have to pay a price for your mistakes. For some, the price is great, and they can willingly bear it. For others, the price is very small, with almost no negative consequences."
"Which one do you think you'll be?"
Xie Chaoqun trembled, not wanting to be either of those options.
"If you dare touch me, my father will definitely come after you to settle the score!"
Mu Lin hauled him up and mercilessly forced him down into a kneeling position.
For Xie Chaoqun, this was the ultimate humiliation. He tried to struggle back up, but Mu Lin gave him no such chance, immediately kicking and breaking his leg.
"Aaargh..." Pain was one thing, but at least now he could kneel properly.
"Miss Ye, what he did was truly improper. Let's call this an apology. You can forgive him now, right?"
Mu Lin's words gave Ye Chunshui quite a scare. "Mr. Mu, was this really necessary?"
Mu Lin smiled. "So, you've forgiven him?"
But Ye Chunshui immediately shook her head. "Impossible. How could I possibly let him off? I'm not a pushover. Forgiving him is absolutely out of the question!"
Mu Lin smiled. "That's fair! Then let's just have him keep kneeling."
'If Ye Chunshui had chosen to let Xie Chaoqun go, I would have healed his leg. The pain of it being broken and then mended would have been a harsh enough punishment.'
Mu Lin turned to look at Guo Lei. He was covered from head to toe in blood, a nauseating sight. Ye Chunshui took one look and had to turn away.
Fortunately, they were all superficial wounds. Guo Lei had probably been in a lot of fights, so he had plenty of experience protecting himself and had managed to get through the ordeal.
However, the repercussions were still significant.
Mu Lin used acupuncture needles to stop Guo Lei's bleeding, then circulated his True Qi to promote the healing of his wounds.
In just a moment, Guo Lei felt his whole body fill with vitality. All the pain from the beating completely vanished.
"Mr. Mu, I'm sorry. I was useless! I couldn't save Miss Ye!"
Mu Lin waved his hand. "You're not to blame. The two bodyguards at the door alone were Early-stage Qi Strength masters. It would have been very difficult for you to beat them outright. It's not your fault, so don't feel bad about it."
Even though Guo Lei heard this, he kept his head down, looking thoroughly dejected.
Mu Lin smiled. "I'm serious. Lift your head. You did a great job. If you hadn't bought some time, Miss Ye might have already..."
Ye Chunshui pursed her lips. She had a million complaints she wanted to voice. In truth, Guo Lei's arrival hadn't helped at all; on the contrary, it had only further enraged Xie Chaoqun.
'Otherwise, why would Xie Chaoqun have forced me into the bathroom, willing to assault me even in there? It couldn't be that he's just a pervert, could it?'
But she couldn't bring herself to say any of this. After all, Guo Lei had genuinely tried to help her, gotten injured in the process, and had been sent by Mu Lin in the first place.
'Damaging Mu Lin's impression of me would be a huge loss.'
Mu Lin said, "Your strength is indeed too low. At this rate, you'll soon be unable to handle tasks for me. Do you want to practice the Martial Dao or Qi Refining?"
Guo Lei's heart pounded in his chest. "I don't know anything about them, so please, you decide for me!"
Mu Lin said, "Then let's go with the path of a Martial Artist. As the old saying goes, diligence can make up for a lack of talent. That's what this is about."
Guo Lei's heart pounded. He immediately dropped to his knees. "Yes! That's right! Thank you for your guidance, Mr. Mu!"
Mu Lin closed his eyes and turned his head away. "Get up. I'm not worthy of your kneeling."
"Mas—"
"Don't 'Mas' me. You're not worthy of being my disciple! Get the hell up!"
Being told he was 'not worthy' was too hurtful. As soon as Mu Lin said it, Guo Lei looked completely crestfallen.
He scrambled to his feet and tried to compose himself. 'Mu Lin already said my talent is lacking, so it's better to just accept reality.'
Mu Lin placed a hand on Guo Lei and slowly began to infuse him with True Qi.
This was to widen Guo Lei's meridians, which would make his path as a Martial Artist a bit more stable.
After all, Guo Lei worked for him. If there was even the slightest chance, Mu Lin wanted to make him stronger.
A steady stream of True Qi flowed into Guo Lei's meridians, and Mu Lin monitored the process with intense concentration.
Suddenly, his expression changed. "Huh?!"
