My Most Beautiful Fiancée
Chapter 225 224: Wicked Relatives 4
Mu Lin said, "I haven't told a single lie. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."
Hong Rui looked toward Lin Shishi, but Lin Shishi just looked helpless. "I have no idea!"
'I'll never be able to clear my name now,' Mu Lin thought.
He decided to drop the subject and looked out the window, awaiting the arrival of those wicked relatives.
A short while later, the relatives all rushed over.
Through the window, Mu Lin could see them glittering with gold.
Gold necklaces, gold watches, and several rings on their fingers.
A few were even dangling Porsche keys.
Mu Lin guessed the Porsche keys weren't fakes. They had actually bought the cars...
The money Hong Wanfu had paid for with his life, the money he himself had gone to great lengths to force out of the Yang Family, was being squandered so extravagantly.
Mu Lin's eyes began to turn red.
He walked outside, and Hong Rui followed.
"Sister Feng, what did you call me here for? I'd just ordered a call girl, but you dragged me over before she even arrived!"
Zhang Qifeng snapped, "Is this really the time for call girls? You should be worrying about saving your own skin!"
These people were simply unreasonable. She didn't want to stay here another minute.
"Hey, I've brought everyone here. What happens next has nothing to do with me, right? I'm leaving!"
Mu Lin sneered. How could he possibly let her leave?
"The hell you are! Get back here!" Mu Lin flicked out a silver needle. Before Zhang Qifeng could take more than a few steps, she was hit and collapsed, her fate uncertain.
The wicked relatives around them were enraged. Who the hell did Mu Lin think he was, daring to attack Zhang Qifeng?
She was their family—off-limits! Anyone who touched her would pay a terrible price!
The whole crowd started cursing and swearing, pointing at Mu Lin as an endless stream of profanities filled the air.
Mu Lin ignored them. "I don't care what you call me. You have five minutes. Return all the money you stole from Hong Rui!"
"And everything you bought with that money—hand it all over. If you can't produce it now, write down what it is."
Mu Lin's serious words, however, sent the wicked relatives into fits of laughter.
"What's all this fuss about? I thought it was something important, but you're just here trying to get money for that bastard whelp!"
"Don't go looking for trouble! Or you'll regret it!"
Mu Lin's voice was grim. "Time is short. Get it done, now!"
"Get what done? What are you talking about? Let me tell you something: that compensation money is for us, not for this mutt."
"She and Big Brother Wanfu aren't even blood-related. Why should the compensation go to her?"
"I'd advise you to drop it, or you'll have only yourself to blame for what happens next!"
Mu Lin strode forward and sent a flying kick into the speaker. "Who asked you?"
The man went flying.
Mu Lin then darted between the wicked relatives, swiftly placing various restrictions on them.
"If you don't want to die, hand over the money now!"
They all looked at one another, their expressions turning troubled.
"What are you spacing out for? The money!"
The wicked relatives snapped to their senses, hurriedly pulling out their bank cards and offering them to Mu Lin with both hands.
Mu Lin glanced at the cards and said, "How much is on each? Tell me yourselves. I'm guessing you wouldn't dare lie to me."
Everyone quickly rattled off their numbers.
Mu Lin listened to them one by one. He had an exceptional memory and memorized everyone's face, name, and card number.
He could verify it all on a machine later.
A wave of fury washed over Mu Lin as he listened to their reports.
These bastards really blew through money fast.
A third of it was gone in just a few days.
This wasn't like spending thirty bucks out of a hundred; this was thirty million out of a hundred million!
Mu Lin gave the cards to Lin Shishi, asking her to check the balances for him to verify.
'Finally, my time to shine,' Lin Shishi thought, and she quickly got to work.
In less than ten minutes, she had pulled up the transaction history for every single card.
She asked Hong Rui for a notebook, recorded all the figures, and handed it to Mu Lin.
As Mu Lin checked the figures against his memory one by one, his eyes grew even redder.
"You're lying."
Far from just a third, they had blown through more than half of it.
Some had even gone to Australia City for a day of wild splurging.
"No, no, we just misremembered..."
Still trying to argue? Mu Lin's voice was frigid. "All of you, sever your right hands to atone. You have ten minutes."
He beckoned with his hand, and a kitchen cleaver came spiraling out of the kitchen. It slammed into the wall, sticking there, quivering.
Seeing this, the color drained from everyone's face.
Mu Lin's feat was like a miracle, scaring them half to death.
"Please, spare us! I'll definitely find a way to pay the money back! Let me go, and I'll get the money together right away!"
"Spare me, please! I didn't spend much, I'll sell the car to make up for it..."
Mu Lin pointed out two of them. One had bought a house and a car, and the other had deposited the money directly into a wealth management fund.
These two were salvageable. If not for them, who knows how much more would have been wasted. "You two just need to replace the money. Hurry up!"
They scrambled to make phone calls, demanding refunds. In less than five minutes, the money was returned.
That brought the balance back up to fifty million.
Mu Lin's face was livid.
The two who had returned the money asked, trembling, "S-Sir, we've paid back the money. Can we go now?"
Mu Lin spat out a single word: "Scram!"
The two fled in a panic.
The remaining few stared blankly at the cleaver.
There was no way out.
"Go on, chop," Mu Lin said coolly. "You have five minutes left."
"Sir, if I lose my hand, I won't be able to earn a living! How will I pay Hong Rui back then?"
Mu Lin sneered. "Don't worry about it. I'll cover the difference myself. I just want to see what you look like, writhing on the ground with your hands chopped off."
Everyone was speechless. Were those the words of a human being?
"Three minutes left."
Finally, someone moved. He reached out, grabbed the cleaver, and brought it down violently on his own right hand.
The blade was incredibly sharp. In a single motion, it severed his right hand at the wrist.
Blood immediately began to gush out. Even if Mu Lin didn't kill him, he would bleed to death!
Mu Lin casually tossed a silver needle at him, staunching the bleeding.
"Next!"
Three minutes later, there were five more one-handed people in the room.
Mu Lin picked up the five severed hands. A frosty aura flared in his palm, and in moments, the hands were frozen into blocks of ice.
Then, with a heavy stomp, Mu Lin shattered the frozen hands into fragments. Now, none of them could even dream of having their limbs reattached.
"Get out. If any of you ever come here again, I'll take your lives."
Mu Lin's words made them all tremble. They scrambled to clutch their stumps and flee for their lives.
Hong Rui had been standing to the side the entire time, watching Mu Lin in silence. She hadn't even looked afraid when the hands were severed and the blood flowed.
Mu Lin found this strange and asked, "You're not scared?"
Hong Rui said, "Could anything be more terrifying than them trying to force me to serve some 'Young Master Zhong'? When I refused, they threatened to sell me."
Mu Lin's expression darkened. 'Losing a hand was too light a punishment for them,' he thought. 'It should have been far more severe.'
He placed the recovered bank cards on the table. "This money is all yours. I'll make up the difference to bring it back to a hundred million."
Hong Rui shook her head. "There's no need. I only want what was mine."
With that, she picked up a single, worn-out debit card. Mu Lin guessed it must have been her school meal card.
"Don't..." Mu Lin said. "This is all yours. Please, take it... If Mr. Hong could see this from the great beyond, I'm sure he would be happy."
"I don't want it! Will taking this money bring him back to life?"
Mu Lin was speechless. Her firm refusal left him at a loss for words.
Lin Shishi saw that Hong Rui's eyes were filled with tears. She hugged the girl and patted her back gently.
At this, Hong Rui began to cry even harder. Unable to watch, Mu Lin and Lao Xiang turned and walked outside.
Hong Rui cried for nearly fifty minutes before Lin Shishi finally came out.
"She's taken the money."
"Good," Mu Lin said. "I topped it off for her. A full hundred million."
Lao Xiang's eyes were red. "Sir, thank you so much! Without you, I'm afraid Miss Hong would have been forced to serve that Young Master Zhong long ago! And there's no way she would have gotten the money back!"
Hong Rui pulled a random card from the pile and tried to hand it to Lao Xiang, but he held up a hand to stop her. "There's no need. This is your money, how could I possibly take it?"
"As long as you live a good life, Lao Hong will be happy, and I'll be happy. That's more than enough!"
With that, Lao Xiang left.
