Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Seeking Wealth in Danger

Martial Artists held no secrets in the eyes of cultivators.

Whether they were speaking or circulating their cultivation, high-level cultivators could clearly sense the flow of their blood and qi, the changes in their Inner Strength, and even their breath and heartbeat.

When many Martial Artists lied, they would use their Inner Strength to force a flush onto their faces or squeeze beads of sweat from their cheeks...

They thought their performances were flawless, but in the eyes of cultivators, it was as laughable as a child telling a lie. Cultivators and Martial Artists existed on two entirely different planes. Compared to a Martial Artist, a cultivator was an Immortal God.

When his youngest junior brother brought back this so-called "Li Hao," Eldest Senior Brother Shen Weifeng had immediately pegged the guy as a fraud. He had even made up his mind to use him as an example so his naive junior brother would finally realize the sinister nature of the Martial World.

But now, to his surprise, he found that the man standing before him wasn’t lying.

If he wasn’t lying, then things were about to get incredibly complicated. Shen Weifeng couldn’t help but frown. Their world was vast, but it had its limits. Cultivators had long explored every corner of it, even proving that the place they lived on was a sphere.

Could another world truly exist beyond their own? Or perhaps, the legendary Immortal Realm?

At the thought of the Immortal Realm, Shen Weifeng subconsciously shook his head, laughing at his own foolishness. The ultimate goal of cultivation was Ascension. If a true Immortal Realm existed, it would be teeming with Immortal Gods, rather than the mortal world Li Hao described—a place where people sought Immortals but found no path to them.

"Eldest Senior Brother, what is a Teleportation Array?" Yang Tianrui asked.

"Perhaps it’s an ancient Array!" Shen Weifeng’s gaze never left Li Ye, his expression complex.

"An ancient Array?" Yang Tianrui was stunned. His eyes were filled with disbelief, even a trace of excitement. "Eldest Senior Brother, I told you Brother Li Hao wasn’t a liar. There aren’t that many frauds in the world..."

Ignoring Yang Tianrui, Shen Weifeng looked at Li Ye and said, "Take me to the place where you were teleported."

"Alright, it’s not far from the market."

Li Ye nodded. Right now, he was playing the role of an honest young man desperately seeking immortality who had finally encountered an immortal destiny. Naturally, he had to comply with every request. Besides, he really had been teleported here. He wanted to see if the cultivators of this world could sense the traces of time-space travel.

"I’m going too," Yang Tianrui said.

"Let’s go."

Shen Weifeng’s cultivation was much higher than Yang Tianrui’s. With a sweep of his sleeve, a gentle force swept Li Ye and Yang Tianrui up into the air. In an instant, they arrived above the market.

Li Ye pointed to the spot where he had crossed over. "Right there."

Yang Tianrui looked around in every direction. No matter how he looked at it, it was just a barren patch of land. "There’s nothing here!"

"The wild grass here shows signs of being trampled, but only in this specific spot. There are no traces of human activity on the other three sides. Such a situation is only possible if you fell from the sky or appeared here out of thin air..."

Shen Weifeng was much more observant. With just a few glances, he deduced what had happened. "Li Hao, you were quite calm. After being teleported to an unfamiliar place, you didn’t even think to scout your surroundings. You actually had the peace of mind to sit cross-legged and cultivate."

"I thought it was an arrangement made by the deceased senior." Li Ye gave a simple, honest smile. "Where I’m from, scholars have written many storybooks about cultivating immortality. In the beginnings of those books, many protagonists bizarrely cross over into the Immortal Realm, start their cultivation, and proceed to conquer everything in their path.

"First I obtained a Secret Manual in a cave, and then I experienced a bizarre transmigration. My experiences were exactly the same as the protagonists in those storybooks, so naturally, I had to try cultivating."

"What kind of storybooks? Tell me about them." Yang Tianrui’s eyes lit up again. "I love listening to stories the most."

"Junior Brother, don’t wander around," Shen Weifeng scolded as he watched Yang Tianrui looking everywhere. To be safe, he used his Spiritual Power to lift all three of them back into the air. He turned to look toward the market. "After cultivating here, you headed straight for the market. Li Hao, how did you know there were people over there? A Martial Artist’s Divine Sense can’t perceive that far."

"A Sword Immortal flew right over my head at the time," Li Ye answered honestly.

Shen Weifeng froze. The answer made his old face flush with slight embarrassment. Li Hao’s experience was simply too bizarre; he had to eliminate all hidden dangers. The righteous and evil paths were absolutely irreconcilable. If Li Hao turned out to be a spy planted by the Demon Sect, Shen Weifeng would become a sinner to the Cyan Sun Sect.

After a moment of silence, Shen Weifeng asked some more questions about Chu Country, as well as how Li Ye and Yang Tianrui had met at the market. Finally, he demanded that Li Ye recite the entire Mental Tranquility Spell.

At this, Li Ye finally couldn’t hold back anymore. "Eldest Senior Brother, I’ve told nothing but the truth. I can accept you interrogating me like a prisoner because my origins are indeed unclear. But for you to make me recite the entire Mental Tranquility Spell without even offering me a promise in return... forgive me, but I must refuse."

"Yeah, Senior Brother, Li Hao is telling the truth. Just let him join the Sect!" Yang Tianrui chimed in to persuade him. "He’s from another world. Isn’t he a rare treasure for our Sect?"

Shen Weifeng grumbled inwardly, reasoning that it was precisely because of his extraordinary origins that he needed to interrogate the man so thoroughly. He knew his actions had already drawn Li Ye’s resentment, but Li Ye’s existence had massive implications, so it wasn’t wise to push him too far.

After pondering for a moment, he looked at the two and said, "Junior Brother, stay here with Li Hao for a while. Don’t wander off. I’m going to make a trip back to the Sect..."

"Okay." Yang Tianrui nodded earnestly.

"Ensure his safety," Shen Weifeng instructed one last time before swiftly taking to the sky and departing.

Watching Shen Weifeng fly away, Li Ye secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He had passed the test.

The more Sect higher-ups he alarmed, the more valued he would be within the Cyan Sun Sect, and the greater the benefits he would reap. As the saying went, wealth and danger walked hand in hand. If he had to work his way up step-by-step from the very bottom like Pang Feng, even if he successfully joined the Cyan Sun Sect, a year’s time would at most allow him to scrounge up a Foundation Establishment Stage Cultivation Technique to bring back. That wouldn’t be of any help in boosting his strength.

But look how great things were now. On his very first day of crossing over, he had already entered the sights of the Cyan Sun Sect’s higher-ups. It was like passing the civil service exam and being directly assigned to a central ministry; no matter how badly he performed, the resources he’d have at his fingertips would still be vastly greater than those of a small-town clerk.

In this world, Li Ye wasn’t overly worried about that strand of Demon Qi. After all, cultivators here routinely flew through the skies and burrowed through the earth. Even if that strand of Demon Qi wreaked havoc in this world for four whole years, it probably couldn’t withstand a single slap from these cultivators. This was evident from how peaceful the cultivation world was, even going so far as to run a bustling trade market right at the foot of their mountain.

If the sky fell, the tall guys would hold it up.

After realizing exactly what kind of world he had transmigrated into, Li Ye had set his goals: acquire Cultivation Techniques, obtain Derived Skills...

"Senior Brother Yang, I apologize for not telling you the truth earlier." Li Ye turned to Yang Tianrui and took the initiative to apologize.

"It’s fine, I understand. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t have told the truth either." Yang Tianrui smiled magnanimously and asked with great enthusiasm, "Junior Brother, since Eldest Senior Brother isn’t back yet, why don’t you tell me about your world?"

"I’m not your junior brother yet," Li Ye replied.

"Put your heart at ease." Yang Tianrui chuckled. "I know my Eldest Senior Brother. He won’t let you leave. It’s just that your background is too bizarre and he can’t make the decision on his own, so he’s gone back to ask for our master’s instructions. I guarantee that you will definitely become my youngest junior brother."

"I hope so!" Li Ye’s eyes lit up as he spoke with a hopeful tone.

"Hurry and tell me, what is your world like?" Yang Tianrui urged. "You mentioned earlier that seeking immortality is difficult. Does that mean there are very few people cultivating in your world?"

"Senior Brother Yang, how about you tell me about your world first!" Li Ye looked at him and smiled bitterly. "Eldest Senior Brother went back to find your master, which means I’ll definitely be subjected to round after round of interrogation next. You can just listen in from the sidelines when that happens. Whatever you want to hear, I’ll tell you once I officially join the Sect."

"Fair point," Yang Tianrui laughed heartily. "What do you want to know? I’ll tell you..."
