My Milf Tamer System

Chapter 142: Classroom Phase 3

His phone buzzed. Three messages, arriving in sequence.

Tomoe. Through Aurora’s channel. The first contact since departure.

*Your argument about transparency was flawed. I’ve prepared a counter-argument. Three pages. Submit yourself for inspection when convenient.*

*At my convenience.*

*That was a joke. I’m learning.*

Satsuki. A photo. Her garden. Tadashi’s maple tree, freshly pruned, new growth visible at the tips where she’d cut. No text. Just the image. Cherry blossoms in the background, early March blooming in Hakone.

Reiko. 3:02 AM Tokyo time. Because Reiko Fujiwara didn’t sleep when she had questions.

*Your neural data is anomalous again. The secondary consciousness region shows increased activity since departure. I need a follow-up scan. This is exciting.*

*For me.*

*Not for you, probably.*

Lucas showed Elena the messages. She read each one. Nodded. Made a note on the whiteboard.

"Tomoe: yellow, but trending green. She made a joke. She’s learning humor." She moved the sticky note. "Satsuki: solid green. Photo of pruned tree. She’s maintaining the garden and thinking of you." She moved another. "Reiko: yellow with question mark. Still anomalous. Still awake at 3 AM. Still excited."

"She said it’s exciting for her. Not for me."

"She said ’for me.’ That’s possessive language. She’s claiming the research. Which means she’s claiming you." Elena capped the marker. "Yellow with question mark is generous. I’d rate her orange if orange existed."

"You could add orange."

"I’m not adding orange. Orange is for crisis. She’s not a crisis. She’s a neurologist with a crush disguised as a research proposal."

*My girlfriend just diagnosed a neurologist’s feelings for me through linguistic analysis of a text message sent at 3 AM Tokyo time. Elena Vance doesn’t need the System. She IS the System. She’s been running her own operating software since before I prayed to a God who answered wrong.*

Elena curled against him. Her body soft. Heavy tits pressing against his arm through the sweater. The gray fabric riding up, exposing the curve of her hip, the pale skin of her waist. She wasn’t wearing a bra. He could feel her nipples against his arm. Hard. She’d missed him and her body was communicating that fact through pressure and heat.

"Tomorrow, Victoria," she murmured. "Wednesday, Diana. Friday, Yuki. Saturday, Sarah. Sunday is mine."

"You said that already."

"I’m saying it again. Because you have seven women and one System and a color-coded wall and if you forget the schedule I will end you."

"Understood."

"Good." She kissed his neck. Soft. Brief. Promising. "Now carry me to bed. I haven’t slept in a real bed in six weeks and the plane doesn’t count."

"Is that a euphemism?"

"It’s an instruction. Interpret it however you want. As long as the interpretation involves your hands on my waist and me not walking."

He carried her to bed. She weighed nothing and everything. Her legs around his waist. Her mouth on his neck. The apartment quiet around them, the calendar on the wall glowing in the fading afternoon light, seven colors tracking seven women across three time zones.

And Persephone, watching from the couch, judging them both with the supreme contempt of a cat who’d been fed by a neighbor for six weeks and considered this a betrayal.

March 8th. Westbridge University. 10:00 AM. Engelbert Hall, Room 304.

Lucas hadn’t sat in this classroom since December. Three months. The desks still smelled like dry-erase markers and institutional despair. The fluorescent lights still buzzed at the exact frequency that triggered headaches in anyone sensitive enough to notice. The chalkboard still had Victoria’s handwriting on it, that distinctive looping script, half-erased from the previous lecture.

He sat in the third row. Not the front, not the back. The middle. Where a returning student sits when he wants to be seen without announcing it.

Victoria walked in at 10:02. Two minutes late. Unusual. Victoria Sterling was pathologically punctual. If she was late, something had disrupted her routine. Something or someone.

**Victoria Sterling, Brief Recall:** Thirty-eight years old. Auburn hair, shoulder-length, today pulled back in a loose ponytail that was more functional than stylish. Reading glasses. The same pair, gold-rimmed, perpetually smudged because she touched the lenses when she was thinking. Burgundy blouse, buttons done up to the collar, pencil skirt. Black. Conservative. The armor of a woman who knew exactly how dangerous her body was in a university setting and dressed accordingly. Soft where Elena was sharp. Warm where Diana was cold. The body of a woman who’d spent eleven years being ignored by her husband and had forgotten she was beautiful until a student reminded her.

She carried her lecture notes, a thermos of coffee, and the particular expression of someone who hadn’t slept well and was compensating with caffeine and professional composure.

"Good morning. Today we’re discussing narrative unreliability in modern fiction. If you haven’t done the reading, I suggest you pretend you did. I do the same with faculty meetings."

Scattered laughter. Victoria launched into the lecture, her voice finding its rhythm. She was good at this. Better than good. She commanded the room with the casual authority of someone who understood literature not as an academic subject but as a living thing that breathed and bled and mattered.

Lucas watched her. Not as a student. As someone who’d seen this woman naked. Who’d kissed her in her office. Who’d made her call him Master while she came on her own desk. Who’d held her while she cried about her collapsing marriage. Who’d watched her walk through the ruins of her life with the quiet ferocity of someone who refused to stay buried.

*She looks thinner. Not unhealthy. Just lighter. Like she’s been carrying less. The dark circles under her eyes are fading. Her skin has color. She’s been sleeping. Actually sleeping. Not the performance of sleep she used to do in Greg’s bed, lying still and pretending, but actual rest. Her body is different when she’s resting. Softer. The pencil skirt hugs her hips differently. Fuller. She’s eating. She’s been eating because she’s not anxious anymore.*

Victoria turned to write on the board. Her hand moved in those familiar loops. "The unreliable narrator." She underlined it twice. "The character whose version of events cannot be trusted. Who distorts, omits, or fabricates. The question isn’t whether the narrator is lying. The question is why."

She turned back to the class. Her eyes swept the rows. First row. Second row. Third row.

She stopped.

Her voice caught. Mid-sentence. The word "distortion" hanging incomplete in the air like a dropped glass. Her eyes locked on Lucas. On his face. On the fact of him sitting in her classroom for the first time in three months.

Recovery took 1.3 seconds. Lucas counted. Victoria blinked once, adjusted her glasses, and finished the sentence. But her ears had gone pink. That specific shade that meant blood rushing to the surface because her body had registered something her professional composure couldn’t suppress.

*Her ears are pink. That specific pink. The same pink they turned when I first called her "good girl" in this classroom and she nearly collapsed. The same pink when I locked the door and confirmed she wasn’t wearing underwear. Victoria Sterling’s ears are a barometer for arousal and they’re reading "significant disturbance."*

She continued the lecture. Professional. Precise. But her eyes kept returning to the third row. Quick glances, disguised as scanning the class. Each one landing on Lucas for a fraction of a second before moving on.

The lecture ended. Students filed out. The usual stragglers asking questions. Victoria answered each one with her characteristic patience. But her fingers kept touching her glasses. Adjusting them. The nervous habit she had when she was processing something too large for the current context.

"Mr. Wright." She said it as the last student left. Her voice carrying the formal register she used in front of students. "A moment."

The door closed. The last student’s footsteps fading down the hallway.

Victoria locked it. The click of the bolt loud in the empty classroom.

She crossed the room in four steps.
