My Magic Has No Upper Limit
Chapter 439 - 355: The Path of Advancement
Chapter 439: Chapter 355: The Path of Advancement
"If it were me..."
Adrian actually began to ponder it seriously.
"I’d rather have a title like Child of Light, or Dharma King of Light."
"How pretentious."
Redia snorted in disdain.
"I just want a title like the Red-Haired Valkyrie, or Shield of the Kingdom. Those sound more impressive."
Zelir thought to himself, ’You’re both just as pretentious. It’s the pot calling the kettle black.’
No matter how you looked at it, those flashy titles weren’t something a Middle Level Professional could live up to.
You’d need the power of a Reclassified Professional at the very least to pull those off, right?
"Here it is...!"
CREAK. The door to the small room behind the counter opened.
Lily emerged, dragging a large bag of Gold Coins, her cheeks slightly flushed.
She struggled a bit to get the bag onto the counter.
"Huff... puff..."
Lily panted for a moment to catch her breath, then reeled off a string of numbers.
"Mr. Kilian has already sold all the spoils from the Nine-headed Dragon Snake. According to the tally, the total price was 924 Gold Coins."
"Adding the 800 Gold Coins from the Adventurer’s Association’s bounty, the total earnings are 1,724 Gold Coins."
"Mr. Kilian left a total of 724 gold and 8 silver for your team... He specifically instructed that 431 of those Gold Coins are for you, Mr. Zelir."
"Thank you." Zelir beamed as he took the bag.
Feeling its heavy weight, his mood became even more cheerful.
’This is what fighting is all for!’
It’s impossible to get anywhere without money.
Zelir already had 810 Gold Coins on him, and with this reward of 431 Gold Coins...
His savings officially broke the one-thousand mark, reaching 1,241 Gold Coins!
"Also, here is your Adventurer’s Badge."
Lily handed Zelir’s Adventurer’s Badge back to him.
"There’s a Spirit Mark inside the badge. Your experience here in Sengu Town has already been recorded on it."
"A Spirit Mark?" Zelir murmured, rubbing the badge in his hand.
"Yes, it’s done with a small Magic Item..."
Lily explained.
"The Adventurer’s Association is, after all, a large organization that spans the entire Kingdom, so information needs to be shared."
"These recorded experiences will stay with you for life, serving as the best proof of your qualifications and honor."
Lily paused for a moment before adding,
"Normally, the badge only records Demons killed during commissioned quests. Demons killed while exploring ruins don’t count."
"However, a career milestone like the Nine-headed Dragon Snake is worth preserving."
"When you return to Black Stone Town, you just need to have the Association staff read the badge, and they’ll know what you did in Sengu Town."
Lily smiled faintly.
"After all, the requirement to be promoted to a Golden Level Adventurer is to participate in the subjugation of five [Cruelty]-rated Demons. You’ve already completed one-fifth of that."
"Are there any special privileges for being a Golden Level Adventurer?" Zelir asked.
"Of course there are."
Lily began to explain.
"First, the Upper Level commission desk will be open to you."
"Only Golden Level Adventurers can accept Upper Level commissions. There, you can find more challenging tasks with higher rewards."
"Furthermore, when you eventually grow tired of the adventurer’s life and want to retire,"
"your status as a Golden Level Adventurer will allow you to find a comfortable and respectable job within the Association."
"Positions like Instructors at the Associations in major cities, coordinators for smaller branches, or even guild master positions will all give priority to Golden Level Adventurers."
Lily’s tone grew more emphatic, and her eyes lit up.
"Most importantly! Some city-level branches occasionally hold mysterious auctions!"
"These aren’t open to the public. Only Adventurers at Gold Level or higher are qualified to enter."
"There, you can buy all sorts of Epic Level Magic Equipment and rare materials from the Association’s exclusive collection that you’d never find on the open market!"
After listening to Lily’s explanation, Zelir nodded slightly.
Jade, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron.
On this path of ranks paved with the bones and blood of countless Adventurers, managing to reach Gold Level meant you were a person of some renown.
By becoming a Golden Level Adventurer, even if you retired, you could still secure a minor official post in the Association and live out the rest of your life in peace.
If you were ambitious, you might even become the guild master of an Association in some small town.
However, that was only considered good relative to ordinary Adventurers.
A Mage, of course, wouldn’t take a post in the Association; it was far more comfortable to stay in the Mage’s Guild.
Of all the privileges of a Golden Level Adventurer, the only ones that interested Zelir were the eligibility to accept Upper Level commissions and the special auctions.
With the clear guidance and intelligence support from official commission documents, his efficiency in subjugating Demons would be much higher.
And in those mysterious special auctions, he might even come across some rare treasures.
’Come to think of it...’
’Instructor Marvin seems to be a Golden Level Adventurer.’
’That means he must have participated in subjugating five [Cruelty]-rated Demons back in the day...’
’So experienced, indeed!’
"Hello."
Adrian also presented his Adventurer’s Badge to Lily.
"I’m also here to collect the payment left by Captain Kilian."
"Okay... one moment, please."
And so Lily, who had just caught her breath, could only trudge wearily back to the small room to get another large bag of Gold Coins.
"Adrian, there’s a question I’ve been meaning to ask you."
Zelir said, "It’s about promotion... What exactly does it take to be promoted to Upper Level Mage?"
"You just reached Middle Level and you’re already thinking about Upper Level."
Adrian gave a helpless laugh. "Isn’t that a bit too ambitious?"
"It’s good to understand it in advance, to do some homework." Zelir smiled as well.
