Chapter 402: Chapter 337: Is This a Power a Human Can Control?

After casting the three primarily offensive Magic spells, Zelir turned his attention to Praise of Life and Magic Harmony.

First up was Praise of Life.

The Praise of Life Magic worked by creating a thread between the caster and the target, establishing a stable, continuous link.

When the target was injured, Praise of Life would instantly channel Healing Energy through the link to mend their wounds.

Its restorative effect was better than the Healing Skill and also more immediate, making it suitable for complex battlefield situations where prompt treatment isn’t possible.

As long as it wasn’t a fatal blow, the spell could eventually heal them back to full health.

It was a great spell for letting a Warrior tank damage with peace of mind!

Magic Harmony was a spell that amplified one’s Magic Power Strength.

In terms of numerical values, it primarily boosted the Spirit Attribute.

After casting Magic Harmony, threads of Magic Power spread out from beneath Zelir’s feet.

They rapidly intertwined, forming an enormous Hexagram Array.

Iridescent patterns of energy flickered within the Array.

Its pathways resembled a Spell Structure, with Arcane Runes adorning every intersection.

Even finer golden auxiliary circuits clung to the key points of the Array, boosting its efficacy.

Standing in the center of the Array, Zelir was swept by an unprecedented feeling of power!

He could clearly feel his Magic Power surge as if injected with a catalyst, growing more violent and destructive!

This amplification effect increased his power by roughly fifty percent.

In other words, a single Flame Thunder Spear could previously only destroy most of the small hill. But now, with the boost from Magic Harmony, one shot could probably shatter it completely!

This was a staggering improvement.

Based on his own senses, Zelir recalled that even an Overclocking Potion hadn’t increased his Magic Power Strength by fifty percent when he was a Junior Mage.

’As expected of a Level Six Empowerment Magic!’

At this point, the repertoire of self-buffing Empowerment Magic that Zelir had mastered was quite comprehensive.

Swift Blessing, Gift of Barbaric Strength, Indestructible Body, Spring Resonance, and Magic Harmony.

Strength, Agility, Constitution, Spirit, and Intelligence were all boosted!

Any other Middle Level Mage who saw this full set of buffs would likely call him a freak.

Due to the Brain Resistance Mechanism that Instructor Manlin had previously described, Empowerment Mages lacked combat strength, while Combat Mages lacked the ability to buff themselves.

Only Zelir, with the unique effect of Technique Celestial Calculation, could bypass this limitation.

He was now, without a doubt, a truly all-powerful Mage!

After testing all of his High Level Magic, Zelir was surprised to find his Blue Bar was almost empty...

’Why am I so low on blue...’

He couldn’t help but mutter.

To continue testing the extent of his enhanced Magic Power, Zelir reluctantly took out a Source Energy Crystal Stone worth Ten Gold Coins.

However, as he began the Magic Refill, he discovered something...

An Elemental Source Energy Crystal Stone was no longer enough to meet his needs!

Before, a single Elemental Source Energy Crystal Stone could replenish about seventy to eighty percent of his reserves.

But this time, after Zelir had absorbed all the Magic Power contained within it, his reserves were only about halfway replenished.

His Spirit Attribute had only increased by 50 points compared to when he was a Junior Mage.

And while his maximum Blue Bar had increased, it hadn’t doubled.

After a moment of thought, Zelir finally understood.

The quality of his Magic Power had increased, which meant more energy was required to replenish each unit of it.

For example, if it previously took ten points of energy to replenish one unit of Magic Power...

...now it might take fifteen points, or even more.

Combined with the increase in his maximum Blue Bar...

...the Elemental Source Energy Crystal Stones were simply no longer sufficient.

With no other choice, Zelir took out another Source Energy Crystal Stone to continue his Magic Refill.

’Looks like I’ll have to buy higher-quality ones from now on...’

Next, Zelir tested the other Magic spells he had previously mastered.

Unsurprisingly, both their effectiveness and their Power had increased significantly, reaching an entirely new level.

From the destructive force of his offensive Magic to the boosting effects of his Empowerment Magic, everything was on a completely different scale than before.

Casting them felt more natural and effortless as well.

Even without using his newly unlocked High Level Magic, his combat prowess was now a cut above what it used to be!

On the riverbank, the commotion from his Magic experiments finally subsided.

After a whole afternoon of spell-slinging, his Spirit was understandably fatigued.

After a session of Shallow Meditation to steady himself, the agitation in his mind—caused by the frequent casting of Magic—finally calmed.

Zelir lay back and laced his hands behind his head, watching the clouds drift across the sky in high spirits.

All in all, he was quite satisfied with the increase in his power after advancing to Middle Level Mage.

His base combat power was enhanced, and with multiple self-buffs at his disposal, he wouldn’t fear even the strongest of foes.

’Now *this* is what being a Mage is all about...’

Zelir’s imagination began to run wild.

What if he took an Overclocking Potion, then cast Magic Harmony and Spring Resonance on top of that?

’With a triple-stacked boost, just how powerful would a single strike be at my peak state?’

Most importantly, he now had the new Talent Skill, Seizing Tyranny, to develop.

’I can’t wait to see what trait boosts I’ll get in the future...’

After resting for a while, Zelir decided to get up and head back to Sengu Town.

But before he left, he glanced back at the area and felt an inexplicable pang of guilt.

The once lush, green meadow by the stream had been turned into a patch of scorched earth.
