Chapter 385: Chapter 328: It Wouldn’t Be Right to Just Run Away (Part 2)

A third Arcane Missile followed right behind!

BOOM!

Taking three consecutive Arcane Missiles in the same spot was far beyond what the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s body could withstand.

Nearly half its body, along with its entire left shoulder and neck, was ripped apart!

"Ghh... ghh..."

The Monster Strength Silver Ape gasped its last, heavy breaths.

Blood mixed with chunks of viscera gushed from its mouth as its massive body crashed to the ground on its back.

Monster Strength Silver Ape defeated!

On the main battlefront.

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

Giant fists rained down on Marcus’s Shield, the sound of the impacts unending.

The Monster Strength Silver Ape seemed to have found the perfect punching bag, unleashing all its fury!

After taking four or five direct hits, Marcus could feel his arms going numb, and a sharp pain pulsed from the webbing of his hand.

"ROAR!"

He timed it perfectly, pulling his Shield aside and taking advantage of the opening as the Monster Strength Silver Ape recovered from its attack, slashing viciously with his blade!

The cleave, empowered by his Fighting Qi, left a deep, bloody gash on the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s forearm.

However, the wound was far from fatal.

The Monster Strength Silver Ape roared, growing even more enraged. It threw another punch, knocking Marcus back two or three steps.

Without a powerful damage dealer like Zelir, the team’s ability to take down tough targets has really suffered.

The Magic Zelir cast was not only incredibly destructive and capable of severely wounding enemies, it also did a great deal to take the pressure off Marcus.

After all, the more damage coming from the rear, the less time Marcus had to spend taking hits up front.

Sometimes the enemy would get distracted and try to get past Marcus to the party’s rear, which gave him an opportunity to catch his breath.

For the moment, Valles was unable to provide any ranged support.

He was tied up dealing with a horde of fearless Demonized Forest Apes that were charging him.

He could take them down with a single arrow each, but there were simply too many of them!

What’s more, some of them would even pull out the Wooden Spears stuck in the ground and hurl them back at Valles, forcing him to constantly stay on the move.

When Demonized Forest Apes flanked him, Valles didn’t have time to draw his bow.

Instead, he had to draw the Curved Saber from his waist and clash with them directly.

There were three Monster Strength Silver Apes in this Demon Creature Community.

Zelir had taken one, and Marcus was holding another at bay.

And Gray was locked in a battle of wits and skill with the final Monster Strength Silver Ape.

He had no Shield, and his Fighting Qi wasn’t specialized for defense.

Therefore, Gray absolutely could not afford to take a single punch from the Monster Strength Silver Ape.

’Dammit... this ape is like a raging bull!’

Gray cursed under his breath after narrowly dodging another heavy blow.

’The frenzied Demons in these ruins are a real pain to deal with!’

The Monster Strength Silver Ape roared as it charged Gray.

Its huge fists came crashing down, either gouging deep craters in the ground or snapping nearby trees in half, sending splinters flying everywhere.

’A frenzied Monster Strength Silver Ape is even more terrifying than a Minotaur!’

It swung its fist!

The Monster Strength Silver Ape’s fist slammed into the ground, blasting out another crater.

This time, Gray didn’t make a wide dodge. Instead, he seized the opportunity and took a single, precise step back.

This not only allowed him to evade the attack but also left him just enough room to launch a counteroffensive.

As he stepped back, his Cloud Steel Sword was already cleaving down, striking with impossible speed!

The timing and angle of this strike were perfect, landing precisely on the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s elbow joint.

The blade instantly sliced through the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s muscle tissue.

Then, empowered by Wind Fighting Qi, it drove deeper!

CRACK!

The bone shattered!

With that one strike, Gray had completely severed the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s forearm!

"AWOOOO!!!"

The Monster Strength Silver Ape let out a furious howl, a ghastly white shard of bone protruding from the stump of its forearm!

Just then, a black shadow descended silently from a large tree behind the Monster Strength Silver Ape.

Hill.

The Monster Strength Silver Ape had just been grievously wounded, and all of its attention was focused on Gray.

This was the perfect moment for Hill to launch a surprise attack.

She leaped from the tree trunk. The rushing wind whipped up her hooded robe, revealing the Short Sword in her hand, which gleamed with a deadly, cold light.

Surprise Strike!

Employing that same uncanny mid-air acceleration, Hill’s figure suddenly blurred!

Shadow Fighting Qi coiled around her Short Sword. A thrust!

The Monster Strength Silver Ape basically had no neck; the trapezius muscles connecting its head to its shoulders were abnormally developed.

Hill couldn’t find a suitable angle for decapitation.

So, she aimed her Short Sword for another vital spot: the spine!

A piercing thrust with the Short Sword, infused with Shadow Fighting Qi!

THWUMP!

The explosive strike tore through the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s muscles, and the blade brutally severed its spine!

"Heh..."

A cold smile touched Hill’s lips.

The instant the blade cut through bone, she put force into her wrist and viciously twisted the hilt!

"CRUNCH... CRUNCH CRUNCH...!"

The middle of the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s spine was ground to pieces!

The sudden, devastating injury made the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s entire body contort.

"AARGH...!"

Like a puppet with its strings cut, it could no longer swing its arms. Even standing became an immense struggle.

"Finally took one down..." Gray wiped the sweat from his forehead.

With its spine pulverized, the Monster Strength Silver Ape could no longer control its movements. It was basically no longer a threat.

It looked to be on the verge of death.

Just as Gray raised his sword to finish the creature off, he heard a familiar shout from behind.

"Get back!"

Without a doubt, it was Zelir’s voice.

The corner of Gray’s eye twitched, and he decisively retreated a good distance.

A Rhombus Missile came whistling past and slammed directly into the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s face.

BOOM!

The Magic Power exploded. Half of the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s head was obliterated, and it died on the spot!

"Couldn’t you have helped Marcus first?" Gray shouted at Zelir.

"It was convenient."

Zelir turned his attention back to Marcus’s side of the battlefield.

Now only the last Monster Strength Silver Ape remained.

Unaware of its situation, it was fighting with increasing vigor, the gash on its forearm seemingly having no effect on its movements.

This no longer looked like a problem a single Arcane Missile could solve. It was time to bring out the heavy hitters!

"Marcus!" Zelir shouted again.

Marcus understood immediately. The moment he heard Zelir’s voice, he disengaged, moving even faster than Gray had.

The Monster Strength Silver Ape’s punch hit nothing but air. It looked up and glared fiercely at its opponent.

Marcus was already several meters away, showing no intention of re-engaging.

And reflected in the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s pupils, a brilliant blue light was rushing toward it.

A concentrated Aurora Energy Beam!

"VWOOOOOM!!!"

A Demon like the Monster Strength Silver Ape, with no hard shell or natural armor, stood no chance against the power of an Aurora Energy Beam.

The deadly azure beam first pierced through the thick arm the Monster Strength Silver Ape had hastily raised to block.

After blasting a massive, clean hole through it, the beam struck the dead center of the Monster Strength Silver Ape’s chest.

In that instant, the Aurora Energy Beam acted like a high-powered drill, effortlessly boring through tough hide, thick pectoral muscles, and the ribs beneath.

It finally burst out the other side, its remaining energy slamming into a giant tree in the distance and snapping it in two!

The Monster Strength Silver Ape’s body froze in place, its previously berserk demeanor instantly gone.

It swayed, as if wanting to let out one last roar, but could only stagger and collapse, its life extinguished.

With the death of the three Monster Strength Silver Apes, the main force of this Demon Tribe was finally wiped out.

For Zelir and Valles, the remaining Demonized Forest Apes were nothing more than target practice.

Faced with such overwhelming power, even the frenzied Demons of the ruins began to feel fear.

Because there were so many of them, it would be difficult to stop them all if they scattered and fled at once.

Gray was inclined to let the desperate creatures flee, but Zelir had no intention of letting them go.

In a dense forest, plant-based Magic receives a significant boost.

Night Peace’s Shimmering, Vine Entanglement!

Dozens of vines shot out from the ground, snaking straight for the ankles of the fleeing Demonized Forest Apes!

Then, with a sharp yank!

"SCREECH...!"

A chorus of pained cries echoed through the forest.

They were all dragged back toward Zelir.

"Throwing spears, setting ambushes... and you think you can just run away? That’s not right, is it?"

Zelir smiled.

’That guy’s a real Demon-slaughtering maniac,’ Gray muttered.

The remaining Demonized Forest Apes were either finished off by Zelir’s Wind Blade Technique or decapitated by his Fine Steel Longsword.

One by one, they were all eliminated.

Finally, the Demonized Forest Ape community was annihilated!
