My Magic Has No Upper Limit
Chapter 370 - 321: Instant Flash Ball
Chapter 370: Chapter 321: Instant Flash Ball
"Yes, the second floor of the ruins is likely beyond what most people imagine."
Zelir smiled as he recalled the scene of his first arrival on the second floor.
"And I must say, Wells, your map-making is quite good."
"Thanks to that guide, our exploration efficiency increased dramatically."
"C-can I see your records?" Wells asked, a little excited.
Marcus walked up to Wells and opened his booklet.
After a quick glance, Wells knew the burly man before him was also an expert.
His map-making technique was just as professional.
The lay of the land, trap areas, Demon encampments, and safe spots for making camp.
Everything was recorded in meticulous detail.
The level of detail was leagues beyond his own first-edition guide.
"We don’t have time to go from one Adventurer Squad to the next to sell this, so we’d like you to help with distribution."
Zelir’s tone grew serious.
"What do you think?"
"This is an incredible opportunity!"
The excitement in Wells’s voice was impossible to hide.
’I was just worrying my income was about to dry up, and now Zelir’s squad has handed me a golden opportunity.’
It would save him the risk of desperately re-entering the ruins to explore.
Compared to his first-edition guide, which had only depicted most of the first floor,
Marcus’s information completed the first-floor map and even included the entrance to the second-floor light curtain and a general overview of the ruins there.
It would obviously sell for a much higher price!
This would be a huge temptation for squads eager to find the entrance to the light curtain, as it could save them a lot of time and reduce the cost of potential casualties.
"Give me one night. I’ll organize all the information immediately and then find someone to print it."
Wells was full of motivation.
"I also have a few trustworthy buddies who can sell them in different places. I guarantee we won’t have to worry about sales!"
"We’ll price it at twenty Gold Coins. As for the split, you get twenty percent, we get eighty. How does that sound?" Zelir said.
"No problem!" Wells agreed with a nod.
He would get Four Gold Coins for every copy sold—a very profitable deal.
Of course, Zelir wasn’t going to trust Wells completely. Someone had to keep an eye on him.
That responsibility naturally fell to Marcus, who was both meticulous and capable of commanding a situation.
"I’ll be there," Marcus said, nodding to Zelir.
Only then did Zelir feel at ease.
’A guide for twenty Gold Coins a copy...’
’In any case, even if they only sold twenty or thirty copies, that would still be several hundred Gold Coins.’
’It was money for the taking.’
’Besides, getting more people to explore the second floor of the ruins would also lead to finding the third floor’s light curtain more quickly.’
By the time all the details of their collaboration were finalized, the sun had already sunk halfway below the horizon.
The evening glow splashed vast swaths of color across the sky, from molten gold to warm orange, magnificent and moving.
The unique, towering ancient trees of Sengu Town were dyed by the afterglow, their leaves edged with a bright, luminous border.
Zelir let out a long sigh of relief.
’I can finally go back to the Heart of the Emerald Residence.’
Between the combat, exploration, travel, and selling off various loot, he was mentally and physically exhausted.
On top of that, his Magic Power reserves were running low. It was time to get some proper rest.
"Heading back already?"
Gray raised an eyebrow at Zelir and sidled up to him.
"How about we go grab a couple of drinks? I know a tavern where there might be some Catgirls out at night..."
"I already have Bev, thanks."
Zelir refused righteously.
He gave Gray a surprised look. "And besides, aren’t you tired? You still want to go to a tavern?"
"Isn’t going to a tavern a form of rest?"
Gray argued matter-of-factly.
"Music, fine wine, and the faces of pretty girls... those are the miracle cures that can fully restore a man."
"You go ahead. I don’t have the energy for that..."
Zelir waved his hand dismissively and looked at Valles. "Wanna head back together?"
"You go on ahead. I’m going to check on Aidi," Valles said.
"Oh... right, him."
Zelir nodded.
That sharp-tongued Elf they had met before had said he was going to find a new team to explore the ruins again and earn back the money for his permit.
Given Aidi’s naive and tsundere personality, it was normal for Valles to be worried.
"I’m going to the Assassin’s Guild, too," Hill said, pulling up their hood.
"Sengu Town has an Assassin’s Guild?" Zelir asked in surprise.
’It doesn’t even have a Mage’s Guild.’
"Of course."
Hill’s face was hidden in shadow as they gave a low laugh. "Every town has an Assassin’s Guild... it’s just a matter of whether you can find it."
Meanwhile, Marcus and Wells were excitedly discussing the manuscript, talking back and forth about how to make the map even more detailed.
It seemed they shared a great passion for this sort of thing.
Both were animated and enthusiastic, looking like they were ready to pull an all-nighter.
"Alright then..."
Zelir sighed softly.
’Looks like I’ll be heading back alone.’
Night fell quietly.
Zelir strolled alone through the streets of Sengu Town.
A refreshing evening breeze brushed against his bangs, carrying a uniquely crisp scent.
The hem of his windbreaker swayed gently, and fallen leaves rustled as they swirled and settled around him.
Immersed in the tranquil night, Zelir’s heart began to calm.
The Sengu Town night market was also incredibly lively, on a much larger scale than even the autumn harvest festival in Black Stone Town.
Zelir browsed casually, spotting a few snacks that looked quite appealing.
Among them were the same small, soup-soaked meatballs he had eaten before in Black Stone Town.
By the time he was done walking, he was already full and didn’t even need to eat dinner.
