Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The battlefield disappeared beneath a relentless storm of explosions as the Heaven Sundering Cannons continued to fire, each compressed sphere of demonic force detonating against the shattered remains of Damian’s barrier and throwing enormous clouds of dust and debris into the air.

The ground trembled violently beneath the bombardment, while burning fragments of earth and stone were hurled in every direction, making it nearly impossible to distinguish Damian’s position beneath the destruction.

The soldiers of the 31st Regiment maintained their formation despite the chaos, their archers continuing to fire volleys into the smoke while the artillery crews prepared the next barrage.

From the forest, Fulgur, Loth and Loyd watched the spectacle with tense expressions, but none of them made any attempt to intervene. They had all seen enough of Damian by now to understand that an attack of this magnitude was nowhere near enough to kill him. Fulgur’s eyes narrowed as another explosion swallowed Damian’s position, yet the silver dragon remained completely still, watching with the confidence of someone who had already witnessed Damian survive things that should have been impossible.

Loth similarly kept her hands clasped together, her concern present but restrained, while Loyd swallowed nervously as he watched the battlefield. He had only recently entered Damian’s service, but even he had begun to understand one simple truth.

The Prince of Velmora was not someone who could be measured by ordinary standards.

"HMPH! IMPRESSIVE.... BUT FAR FROM ENOUGH!" Damian’s voice suddenly boomed across the battlefield, cutting through the explosions with such force that thousands of soldiers instinctively stiffened.

The confidence that had filled the ranks only moments earlier faltered as disturbed glances passed between the soldiers. Krov’s expression remained composed, but his eyes sharpened as he stared into the enormous cloud of smoke where Damian should have been standing. Then something moved within the darkness.

BOOM!

The enormous metal bolt that had previously pierced Damian’s abdomen suddenly shot out from the smoke at terrifying speed, still coated in traces of blood and demonic force. However the bolt collided with an invisible wall of demonic force created by the shield wall. The impact produced a thunderous crack, but instead of penetrating the barrier, the enormous projectile was simply knocked aside and sent tumbling across the battlefield before embedding itself deep into the earth.

WILD!!!!

The soldiers barely had time to process what they had witnessed before the smoke suddenly erupted outward.

BOOOM!

A colossal construct made entirely from purple demonic force exploded from the depths of the smoke, expanding with such speed that the soldiers closest to it stumbled backward in terror. Its enormous body continued growing until its silhouette towered above the battlefield like a living mountain, its seven enormous tails stretching behind it and covering the sky.

The construct possessed the unmistakable shape of a gigantic fox, but its sheer size made the comparison almost meaningless. It was a megalithic avatar of destruction, its body radiating such dense demonic force that the surrounding air distorted beneath its presence.

For several seconds, the entire army froze. Even the artillery crews stopped what they were doing as thousands of eyes rose toward the gigantic creature looming over them. Krov’s calm expression finally tightened into a deep frown as he looked toward the forehead of the enormous fox construct.

Standing within the purple energy, Damian remained completely unharmed, his long black hair whipping wildly in the wind generated by the immense flow of demonic force around him. The wounds that had moments ago appeared capable of ending the battle had become irrelevant, and his corpse pale face remained emotionless as he looked down upon the army.

Rin stood upon Damian’s shoulder, his small body nearly insignificant compared with the enormous avatar surrounding them, but the murderous gleam in his eyes made it clear that his size meant nothing. His fur rippled violently beneath the pressure of the demonic force as he stared down at the soldiers, his expression twisting into open contempt.

"THERE WILL BE ONLY GORE AND BLOODSHED!" Rin growled, his voice amplified through the enormous fox construct until it rolled across the battlefield like the roar of some ancient beast.

The soldiers immediately tightened their grips on their weapons, and even those who had faced demigods before felt their bodies tense. Krov, however, did not retreat. He simply raised his hand, his eyes remaining fixed upon Damian as he gave the only order a commander of the 31st Regiment could give.

"Fire!!!!"

Almost immediately, the Heaven Sundering Cannons erupted. Five compressed masses of demonic force tore through the air toward the gigantic fox construct, their passage producing deafening sonic booms that shook the surrounding forest. Yet what happened next left the entire army stunned.

The colossal fox moved.

Despite its enormous size, it accelerated with frightening speed, its massive body shifting sideways just before the first cannonball reached it. The compressed demonic force tore harmlessly through empty air before detonating against the distant landscape.

The fox immediately changed direction again, moving with an agility that should have been impossible for something of such tremendous size. The second and third cannonballs missed as well, followed by the fourth and fifth.

Krov’s eyes widened slightly as his artillery crews continued firing, but Damian’s construct simply zigzagged across the battlefield, weaving between the attacks with movements so fluid that the soldiers struggled to follow it with their eyes. More cannons fired, and still the fox avoided them, its seven tails sweeping behind it as it closed the distance with terrifying speed.

"NINEFOLD SAMARA FOX FIRE!" Damian’s voice rang across the battlefield as he raised his hand.

Immediately, brilliant white flames manifested around the gigantic purple fox. The flames compressed and twisted into dozens of strange eye shaped constructs with bat like wings, each one radiating an eerie white light as they began orbiting the fox.

Their presence immediately caused the temperature across the battlefield to change, and even Krov recognized that these were not ordinary flames. Damian had unleashed one of his oldest techniques, but age had not diminished its lethality. If anything, the years of cultivation behind the technique had made it more terrifying.

The white flames moved with eerie intelligence, each construct independently tracking the army below while maintaining its orbit around the fox avatar.

Damian lowered his hand toward the enemy army and calmly gave his order.

"Go!"

The dozens of Samsara Fox Fire constructs immediately shot forward, their speed turning them into streaks of white light. Krov’s expression hardened as he recognized the danger and shouted,

"Shoot them down!" The order spread through the ranks instantly. Thousands of archers drew their bows and unleashed another massive volley, filling the sky with arrows.

The arrows descended like a black storm toward the approaching white flames, but the Samsara Fox Fire constructs moved with astonishing agility. They twisted, rolled and changed direction midair, slipping between the incoming arrows while continuing toward the army.

Some were struck by the relentless barrage, bursting into violent explosions of white flame, but the majority continued forward. Beneath them, the gigantic fox construct did not even bother avoiding the arrows. It simply charged directly through the barrage.

Arrows detonated against its enormous body in rapid succession, producing hundreds of explosions that swallowed its purple form in smoke and fire, but when the smoke cleared, the fox continued forward as though the attacks had been nothing more than rain striking stone.

BOOOM!

BOOOM!

Several more Samsara Fox Fire constructs were destroyed by the concentrated arrow barrage, their explosions lighting the sky, but five managed to slip completely through the defensive fire. The frontline soldiers immediately recognized what was happening and braced themselves.

Thousands of shields slammed together as the soldiers activated their defensive formation, generating a massive crimson wall of demonic force directly in the path of the incoming flames. Krov’s eyes narrowed as he watched the five white constructs approach. He expected them to strike the defensive wall, and the soldiers prepared themselves for the impact. Instead, the five flames suddenly changed direction.

They flew directly over the frontline.

Krov’s pupils contracted. "No!"

The realization came too late. The Samsara flames had never been aimed at the soldiers protecting the front. By sending the Samsara Fox Fire over them, Damian had bypassed the strongest defensive position and targeted the army’s foundation.

Krov immediately moved to intercept them, but before he could take a single step, an enormous roar shook the battlefield. He turned instinctively toward the sound and watched in horror as the gigantic seven tailed fox construct descended upon his frontline.

BOOOOOOM!

The impact was catastrophic. The crimson defensive wall shattered almost instantly beneath the fox’s enormous paw, and the soldiers behind it were swept away by the sheer force of the attack.

Hundreds of bodies were thrown through the air as the formation collapsed, shields and weapons scattering across the devastated ground. The fox construct continued forward without slowing, its seven tails sweeping across the battlefield and sending entire groups of soldiers tumbling aside. The disciplined formation that had held Damian at bay only moments earlier was suddenly broken apart.

At the same moment, the five Samsara Fox Fire constructs reached the backline.

BOOOOOM!

The first explosion tore through the soldiers maintaining the arrays, followed almost immediately by the remaining four. White flames consumed the formation’s support units, and the intricate demonic arrays that had restricted Damian’s movements began collapsing one after another.

The False Domain Array flickered and disappeared. The Nil Gravity Demonic Array vanished. The Murky Swamp Demonic Array followed seconds later.

The oppressive restrictions that had weighed upon Damian’s body were suddenly gone, leaving the Prince of Velmora completely free.

Krov’s face paled. He knew immediately that the battle was over.

He turned sharply, only to find Damian standing directly in front of him and the commander froze.

Damian’s towering figure stood only a few meters away, his black hair drifting around his pale face as though the battlefield itself had become strangely quiet around him. There was no anger, excitement, or bloodlust. That absence of emotion was far more frightening than rage could ever have been.

His blank gaze seemed to pierce directly through Krov’s body and into his soul, leaving the commander with the uncomfortable sensation that every thought inside his head had become visible to the Prince standing before him.

"COMMANDER KROV!!!!" The soldiers screamed from behind him, panic finally spreading through the ranks. They knew what it meant for a mortal commander to stand this close to a demigod.

For several seconds, nobody moved. Krov’s fingers tightened around his weapon, but he knew there was no point raising it. His soldiers could not reach him in time, and even if they could, he knew their attacks would accomplish nothing. He slowly drew a breath, his expression tightening into a frown as he accepted what was coming.

"If you had a bigger army with a Calvary unit and an air support unit that could flank my sides and keep me engaged, you probably would have forced me to go all out. But the limitations placed on your by the crimson palace you serve is the only reason you failed today." Damian said in a dry voice.

Krov lowered his weapon. "Just kill me."

He shut his eyes and stood straight, refusing to kneel even as he waited for the inevitable blow. Around him, his surviving soldiers watched in silence. Some lowered their weapons, while others clenched their fists helplessly.

Krov waited for the killing blow, but it never came.

After more than a minute, confusion finally overcame him. He slowly opened his eyes and found nothing standing before him. Damian was gone. Krov immediately turned toward the direction of the Stone Gate and his expression changed when he saw that the ancient structure was already active, its surface rippling with the familiar light of transportation magic.

Damain, Fulgur, Loth and Loyd were already disappearing through it.

A voice suddenly boomed from within the gate, carrying across the devastated battlefield. "DON’T WORRY COMMANDER... YOU WILL SERVE ME AFTER I TAKE THE DRAGON THRONE FOR MYSLEF."

Damian’s cold laughter followed, echoing through the realm and a cold sweat ran down Krov’s face.

"The prince of Velmora is as scary as they said!" A soldier finally gasped, his voice still trembling from what he had witnessed.

Several soldiers immediately nodded, their eyes remaining fixed on the Stone Gate.

"But he is quite benevolent to those he finds interesting," Krov muttered under his breath.
